Can someone link examples of similar battles such as the Battle of Rorke's Drift?
What's your personally favorite last stand type of battle that actually happened?

Camaron. 65 french foreign legionnaires against 3000 mexicans.

The legion is a specialist of this kind of thing. Tuyên Quang, Bir Hakeim, Dien Bien Phu...

Mexicans too apparently
I need help choosing a new .45 and I've narrowed it down to the Sig p320c or the Glock 30. I don't own anything sig or glock... yet. What do ya'll prefer? Pic semi-related.
p320 a shit
>>32453974
As someone that dislikes Glocks and owns 2 Sigs, go for the Glock. The 320 is fucking garbage, and that modularity bullshit doesn't apply to the .45 version so at least with the Glock you have an adaptable platform (if you are that kind of fag)
>>32454011
thanks for the honest opinion. I'm not so much a glock guy either, but I am leaning toward it
I want to buy a butterfly knife but i don't know which one i'll choice
>>32453946
51, barebones, ab, or replicunt
>>32453946
Doesn't matter. They're all gay. It's like trying to choose which dick you're going to suck. In the end, you're still sucking a dick.
>>32453946
I have that same knife with black grips, bought it for $20 in Chinatown, it's actually been a good pocket knife
So I've never owned an AR, hell never shot one but I'd really like to get into the world of ARs. So I need literally the cheapest AR I can find prebuilt so I can tear the thing apart and put it back together countless times. I don't care if it jams every single shot only thing it has to do is be chambered in 5.56. I'll be building a much nicer rifle after I'm comfortable with tearing this one apart and reassembling it.
That is the biggest waste of money.
You're going to spend $500 on a rifle that you're literally only going to take apart and put back together. Why don't you just put that money towards an even bigger ar or ammo so you have something to do other finger fuck your guns like a no-shooting faggot.
>>32453911
I've always wanted to find a bottom of the barrel AR just to abuse the fuck out of it.
>>32453971
Thats the plan so I can keep a well maintained much nicer rifle and have a much smaller risk of fucking up and breaking it.
>>32453963
It's still going to be shot but if my clumsy ass breaks something on it I won't be out 1000+ bucks. If I wasn't gonna shoot it ID just get a cheap ass .22 replica
Trawling through about ten years worth of pics from my time in the Britfag army.
Found this classic. Good lad Coxy. Always game for a laugh. He got a bit upset when one of the lads jumped in and started speeding around the camp with him on the bonnet though....
Post yours.

This is Minty. As gay as a gay thing. I once walked back into our 8 man room to find him in the comfy chair getting a gammy from one of the new sprogs, Tenny. Dirty gay bastard.
Good laugh though, and the best bit was when a right arse of a guy from saarrrf laarndaarn, who thought he was a geezer, snapped in Iraq and let Minty bum him and vice versa. He never lived that one down.

Was this on ops I swear I've seen those crats before?
>>32453692
Nope, back in barracks in Windsor. You mean the containers? Probably, they shipped with us to Telic.
Anyone do this, despite your local laws? I'm thinking about picking up a bolt action .22 and some subsonic .22 ammo for some back yard plinking fun. My yard is pretty big and neighbors don't give a fuck about my .177 cal pellet rifle noise, AND the nearest outdoor range is an hour away, so I want to try this. How bad of an idea is this? I live in Miami, if it matters.
That's a pretty fuckin' bad idea there OP.
Ricochets can kill, unless you use a silencer there is an excellent chance a no-guns will report you and the cops will start coming around checking yards for signs of plinking.
Be happy with your pellet gun and be intentional about going to the outdoor range when you can. Shooting an actual firearm in city limits is always a poor idea. The less contact you have with the law the better.
>>32453245
Its a fairly terrible idea. Bullets just arent predictable enough to use safely in an urban area. Buy some tracers and youll see what i mean.
OK, point taken. Maybe I'll just get another pellet gun, in .22. I really want to move out of this shit hole :(
why were the Rhodesians issued shorts and tank tops?
wouldn't the fauna and insects (especially snakes and ticks) fuck them up?
Sure, has plenty of disadvantages, but when it's hot like that, it also has advantages.
The frogs inna Africa also do it. I believe the Belgians sometimes too.
>>32453156
It's hot in Africa, this is not a secret.
>>32453156
Snakes ticks will fuck then up, yes. But so will heat.
Everybody has to deal with heat the entire time they are in the field, while snakes and ticks are less of an issue
Got a used Bersa Thunder .380 for Christmas, shot about half a box of Winchester white box FMJ through it. Zero FTF when I was firing it, had my wife try it, she shot it 4 times and FTF every time. I haven't broken it open and cleaned it yet, I assume she was limp wristing (although she was gripping it pretty tight) aside from cleaning it and switching ammo any suggestions?
She was limp wristing
Girlfriend did the same thing

Because guns are for men.
After lurking and reading this board for some time it's convinced me I might be pro-gun control.
Also how often do you guys replace the springs on your magazines? I am still undecided if I should leave any of mine loaded if they are not going to be used immediately.

IF SOME ONE IS BREAKING DOWN YOUR DOOR:
>some places require you to wait until they've broken in all the way to shoot them
>some places will violently prosecute you for shooting them before they get past the last barrier between you
>you MUST WAIT until yo uare in even greater danger, even though the intentions of the criminal are clear
>many places require you to instead run away
>leave your own home
>because someone outside it is breaking into it
This fucking world.

pretty much this. the only litmus test in most castle doctrine states (even lacking stand your ground rules) is that your life be in imminent danger.
at least you dont need to get the hat cut off your head
sup /k/, would an anti-tank rifle with modern projectiles be able to penetrate significantly more armour than a WW2 era one? With modern technology, would it be feasible to create an AT rifle that could deal with the frontal armour of some of the more common tanks of WW2?
And I mean proper AT rifles, not recoilless rifles or so.
>>32452526
.50 BMG AP could probably do it.
>>32452533
What, like Raufoss Mk 211?
I don't see how it would be able to get through more than a WW2 era AT rifle round.
>>32452526
Modern munitions are extremely superior to WW2 ones.
I am pretty sure that with a 20mm AP round you would be able to penetrate frobtally most if not all of the pre 1942 tanks at 200m.
So the US Army recently re-organized their forces.
BCT's (Brigade Combat Teams) were drawn down, with divisions having 3 BCT's instead of 4. However, the BCT's were fattened up, with 3 infantry battalions each instead of 2. Also, artillery in BCT's were aligned under Divisional Artillery now.
My question is why did they do this? The US Army now focuses on Brigades, with Divisions being almost meaningless now, as Divisions don't deploy with all their units...more so just Divisional HQ to C2 the assets in an AOR into which they are assigned.
Pic related
Also, I want to bring up USMC structure. While the US Army has changed it's brigades at least twice in the past decade, the USMC has remained unchanged through it all. A USMC division consists of 3 infantry regiments of Marines, an artillery regiment, and some attached independent battalions such as a LAR (Light Armored Recon), Recon Battalion, a tank Battalion, Amphib Assault Battalion and Engineer battalion.
Why hasn't the USMC updated itself? Is it because USMC divisions align with MEF {Marine Expeditionary Forces) while US Army Divisions don't align under a specific rotational expeditionary force?
Shameless self bump

Do have battlemechs any real world advantage compared to tanks ? Will we see them this century in wars ?
No and no.
probably not. tanks fill that role already. but powered armor might, provided we get a breakthrough in energy density.
>>32452203
Might see usage in depots and storage areas.
