Would a SKS or a Mosin Nagant be a better purchase for a first time rifle owner?
>>32615934
sks in my opinion so you can learn the basic fundamentals of how semi auto works
SKS
mostly becuase of ammo price and availability nowadays.
Both would be good for learning the basics of marksmanship with.
>scored a 31 on the ASVAB

How stupid are you that you scored that low.
I scored an 89 and I feel like a retard.

>>32615628
Fucking how?
> live in Iowa
> can own suppressors

> still cucked with ar pistol that will never be sbr like pic related
Such a life for an Iowan
>>32615573
Thats what arm braces and bullpups are for friend
Who even thinks SBS/SBR laws make sense?
What criminal is too stupid to be able to cut their barrel shorter? It's not like you need a lot of tools or anything.
What crime could they commit with their now smaller gun that would be so minor as to make the NFA violation charge at all relevant?
>>32615613
The NFA was originally going to ban all pistols. This was the compromise position.
Banning hollow points in warfare seems kind of silly, if you ask me. Am I just missing something? I was always under the impression that the purpose of hollow point was to prevent over penetration, not cause suffering.
>>32615183
In the event of a miss, and with supressive fire there are many not so centermass hits, it would be incredibly painful and would involve much undue suffering.
That is their logic on it, over penetration is not usually a concern. And considering that pistol chambered weapons are rarely fielded, it makes no real difference.
>>32615213
>Rifle-caliber HP doesn't exist
>>32615213

You know there was a time before assault rifles m8
Does anyone even use this site? all it looks likeis a bunch of fudds putting guns onthere for 50% over msrp
>>32615108
Uh huh.
>>32615108
I think it's mostly businesses trying move old inventory.
>>32615108
I've gotten a few things off GB, but yeah, it's mostly retards and fudds selling things for a few hundred more than your LGS.
Use the filters, always narrow your search as much as possible, and sort by price to eliminate the worst idiots. Remember that most bids happen in the last hour or two.
Sup /k/. Long story short I know a guy who is just now getting into guns. Problem is that he liked weed a bit in college and now that he's getting out he's gonna try and stay clean. He's curious about the time frame of "recent use" for pot that would disqualify him from purchasing a gun. The statues are murky as fuck and its not exactly clear. He was habitual for a year; I know that much. Would there be a difference if it was a one time experimentation?
TL/DR: how long should my friend stay clean to cover his ass if he wants to buy a gun and later wants to get a job with a security clearance if he doesn't want to lie on the form?
>>32615102
>doesn't want to lie on the forms.
He can never legally own a firearm
>doesn't want to be a faggot like you
He can own a firearm.
>>32615119
I figured. I know I already told him I'll never sell him a gun.
>>32615137
Who the fuck is going to tell anyone?
Stop being a pussy and tell him to acquire memory loss, he never smoked weed.
Any one else on /k/ watch the accountant movie because several people told them the main character reminded them of you?
How offended should I be?
I do kind of look like the character.
>>32614359
haven't seen the movie but from the trailer i wouldn't be offended
>>32614447
Main character has severe autism and is a virgin.
>>32614472
my autism makes me hard to offend
How come really light (12 pounds of less) short barreled (16 inches or less) belt fed machine guns aren't a thing?
Basically, instead of having big ol guns like the 240 and 249, why not put an open bolt and belt fed upper n existing M4s?
The only gun that's like that is the negev
The US is trying to do something like this with the LSAT program.
>>32614333
Heavy barrels are heavy.
>>32614333
>The KAC LMG, Ares Shrike, and Stoner 63 don't exist
We haven't bothered because the LSAT in 6.5mm can replace 5.56/7.62
Does /k/ like leverguns?
>>32614205
Gimmickguns are cool but I wouldn't buy one. Pistol caliber in a rifle sounds really meh to me.
>>32614473
Fuck, now I want a pistol in .30-30
>>32614205
Yes.
>>32614473
You're objectively retarded. .357mag and .44mag become seriously harder hitting out of rifle barrels.

Could my fellow kommandos help me identify this rifle? There is a gentleman selling it nearby for $1600 and he said that it's a non refurb with the cleaning rod and sling. I don't know too much about these markings and there isn't much online.

Those blurry squiggles look like a snake if you squint hard and hop around on one foot with your head sideways.
So i've been playing a lot of BF1 recently. I already knew about WW1 beforehand but I was always curious about Austria-Hungary.
My question is what was the state of the military going in to WW1?
I've heard people say they were abysmally short on artillery and machineguns while others say they were fairly well equipped but had shit leadership (this is easy to see)
Did the army ever improve?
>A literal nigger in Imperial German Army in 1918
>>32613646
> was the state of the military going in to WW1
Average service rifle (Mannlichers), a decent machinegun (Schwarslose) mediocre at best fuckfest multi-cultural military.
> they were abysmally short on artillery and machineguns
Outdated nation with a forced shit internal economy and no real progress since the 1850s since literally everyone hated each other after the 1848 revolution wave.
>had shit leadership
Look up anything they did, yes. They were idiots.
>>A literal nigger in Imperial German Army in 1918
It is like a Detroit gang compared a Marine batallion in combat.
The Germans had thousands of African soldiers. Lettow-Vorbeck used them to savage the allies in Africa for the length of the war. One or two being in the Imperial Army in Europe is nothing more than a statistical certainty based in mass mobilization.
>>32613802
They didn't make it out of East Africa until the war ended.

What's /k/'s take on the Hellcat pack? It's an ALICE pack and frame with MOLLE straps, kidney pad, and sleep system carrier.
It seems like a good budget setup, but it's hard to find matching colors, which could be fixed with some green dye.
>>32612804
Looks like utter shit. Go for it poorfaggot. I'll be buying a modern backpack system not a budget friendly regurgitated shit
Just stick with the normal Alice frame and normal Alice pad. That garbage ass pad is exactly why everyone wants to use the ALICE instead. That is literly what makes the new packs such ass. If your that upset with the normal Alice pad then throw a peice of sleeping mat on it

Is it safe to say that the M2 Carbine can be considered an assault rifle? Similarly, its ammunition the .30 carbine is crossing the line between pistol round to intermediate round.
>>32612447
Is it select fire?
No?
Then no it's not an assault rifle.
>>32612470
The M2 is select fire
>>32612470
M2 is select fire, dumbfuck.
Hi, /k/.
So I was curious. Anyone know the laws for guns on boats? Civilian, specifically.
Is it some special international law thing? Are Americans under the umbrella of their own laws for having armed civilian boats?
Because I know American citizens can own cannons. You don't need a license or a permit for a muzzle loading one, but you do need paperwork and permits and license for breech loading cannons. And the propellant is illegal.
But what about for naval guns? Could a civilian with their own boat legally mount big barrels and lug around big shells?
>>32612396
>>32612396
the law is if u see a chinesse u have to shoot them
>>32612432
>chinesse
i through it was " any sort of living species that show a liking to communism "
maybe that big book of naval laws from the 80s are not so usefull anymore ...
