Somebody actually patented this weapon in 1915.

Albert B. Pratt of Lyndon, Vermont thought this was a good idea.
>>32611881
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ALBERT B. PRATT, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Lyndon, county of Caledonia, State of Vermont, have invented an Improvement in Weapons, of whichthe following description. in connection with the accompanylng drawings, is a specification, like characters on the drawings representing like parts.
This invention relates to weapons, and among other objects provides a gun adapted to be mounted on and fired from the head of the marksman.
The character of the invention may be best understood by reference to the following description of an illustrative embodiment thereof shown in the accompanying drawings, wherein,
>>32611896

How are you shooting /k/?
Had a damn good day at the range today. Don't laugh, for me this is really good. Especially given my last trip involved me not even being able to get all of my rounds in the 8 inch target (was using the splatterburst ones) at 7 yards. The dry fire drills I did in my room the past week really fucking paid off.
I found a few things really helped me:
-moderate trigger press, not too slow. I found my results got way better when I sped up my trigger press just a little. Maybe it's because Glock trigger fucking suck for slow staging
-keeping my support hand heel in contact with the grip of the gun at all times
-flinch drills and more flich drills.
-Not worrying to much about stance: yes Isocoles may be a better stance, but Weaver just works for me way better. A fighting stance is more natural and I don't have to worry about my balance as much.
Anyway sorry this sounds like a blog. How are you shooting
Bump. anyone shoot their guns?
>>32611707
I just realized that pic related is the only picture I have of my groups. It's the best I've shot my sks at 100 yards.
I don't have picture readily available but I was shooting my Makarov at a target about 10 yards away and hit center most of my shots.
However, some just seem to go stray to the right or left - is this more likely to do with random flinching or position of my finger on the trigger?
I know that it is hard to say without being there with me, but any tips on how to practice not flinching? Should I get some 9x18 snap caps (if they make em) and just constantly practice dry firing?
I also have an issue with closing my eyes in reaction to the bang, when I can keep them open I seem to shoot better but I am constantly switching between having both eyes and my right eye open and not sure which is best and where to go from there.
I don't know why I just needed this specific revolver. I just saw it and fell and love with it and just picked it up today.
Will take it to the range one of these days. Show off your recent purchases or gifts. Knives and other weapons also appreciated

For those wondering it's a Smith and Wesson 627 Performance Center 8-shot .357 magnum 5 inch barreled version cut out for moonclips. Came with three moonclips and an extra rubber grip.

Sexy gun anon. Shame about that Hillary hole though.
Our department is switching from the USP to glock 21s. I have the option to buy my USP, is $400 a good price? Or outrageous.

Do it. It's better than the glocktrash.

Do it faget.
Is this (in .223) a good deal for a first time deer and turkey rifle?
get a .308
>>32633305
This. .223 is a varmint caliber.
>>32633253
Just get a .270 or .308 so you have a rifle that can fulfill a wide array of hunting needs.
.223 is an intermediate cartridge that is okay for varmints/coyotes and in some states is not legal for deer. Listen to those "some states" for the sake of the animal.
What's /k/'s opinions on the Royal Navy cutting the order of Type-26 Frigates from 13 to 8, To invest in a lighter and less costly Type-31 variant to bolster overall numbers?
Will the Type-31 be formidable enough?
Will quantity over quality yield better results?
>>32631755
Depends which design of the Type 31 they go for
BAE's Cutlass or BMT's Venator 110
quality over quantity only works to a point
you can have 5 of the best ships in the world, but you won't be able to have as many multiple deployments as if you had 10 really good ships
also, if I was a country and put a load of money into two of the biggest warships ever constructed in Europe, I would really, really, REALLY want to protect my investment
>>32631755
The Royal Navy will be lucky if they can afford any ships post-Brexit.
What's the defense against a swarm of small drones armed with explosives? How would you stop them kamikaze'ing everything? Why aren't terrorists using them?
Why haven't we banned drones? Think of the children!
>>32630742
>a swarm of small drones armed with explosives
You mean missiles.
>>32630752
i think he meant drones
Drone swarms. Another area of modern warfare the US ignores whilst China steams ahead. Going to be bloody when China has had enough of US bullying.
What is the best military force in the world after Israel's?

What's the word on solvent traps, /k/?
From what I've been lead to understand, they're a tool to catch solvent when cleaning your barrels, but with just a little bit of drilling they can also function as a suppressor.
Furthermore, I've heard all you need is a fairly cheap tax stamp to get licensed as a manufacturer or something like that, and then it becomes perfectly legal to have the silencer since you're a licensed manufacturer.
Any of you fellas ever done this or have experience with them? How do they compare to actual silencers?
$200 and 4-12 months of waiting per item just like any other NFA item
If you're going to go to that time/expense why not get a purpose designed suppressor?
Or just wait for the Hearing Protection Act to pass

Fuck off ATF
Nice try, ATF.
Alright /k/, I finally got around to taking the family picture. Lets see those arsenals! Big and small all welcome here.
i've got a mosin somewhere around here too

It's been a while since I added a new girl to the family.
Well /k/ if you watched the armed service commite today one of the senators did ask mattis a question that was half way fucking related to the secretary of wars most holy position. If you managed to focus while the suits were begging the mad dogg to fucking kill and the ladys nonstop asking about combat effectivness with a mouth full of dong, and dress length in uniform, someone brought up the actual age of the m16a1 and a2 and the m4a1. They mentioned that its damn well time the standard battle rifle got an update and i cant think of a bunch of assholes whos opinion is more valid here. So /K/ across the board, what should be the united states military standard battle rifle? Please consider cost, effectiveness for the soldier, durablility, round size, mag capacity, and effective range. All opinions welcome knock yourself out.

A gas piston AR derivative made ambidextrous with improved ergonomics and quick-change barrels chambered in 5.56 and .300 blackout.
Good opinion. Only worried about how it handles mistreatment a rifle will take during combat. But i do like .300 rounds getting pushed into an opponent. One and done lol
If they did a form of upgrade it would probably be to the M27. The way the budget is it's unrealistic to change caliber. Maybe in the future, but I doubt within the next years IF a change even happened at all.
The fact is there really is nothing wrong with the AR platform. If I was a betting man I'd put my money on them completely getting rid of the m16, replacing them all with the m4, and in time replace some of those with the m27.
This is already happening btw.
