anyone have a good recommendation for a knife? I need one, going camping soon.
>>32626579
A plain old Buck lockback will do absolutely everything you need.
>>32626593
perfect price. thanks
>>32626604
You're welcome.
PS: The leather belt sheath is a good accessory. So is a good quality Arkansas sharpening stone.
What is the real-life combat application of hand grenades?
Are they only ever used for clearing rooms?
In what context are they used in combat?

quick /k/, what molle pouch, surplus or new made, that can hold the 10 round sks clips? bonus points if the clip(s) fits snuggly and i dont have to dig for them.
>>32626500
10 dollar chinese surplus on ebay
>>32626570
>molle
nice job not reading, dude
>>32626500
I think you have missed the point of the SKS /k/comrade.
The point is that it's a cheap, g2g semiauto centerfire carbine chambered in an intermediate round.
The logical answer to your question is to buy a Chink battle bra off Amazon or Ebay for under $20, some surplus strippers for as cheap as possible, and be adequately kitted out in stuff that was explicitly designed to all work together and has been used in several actual wars effectively.
In 2017 the full cost of a full SKS kit is still less than an entry-level AR on its own and if it's not you're doing it wrong. Also be aware that these guns are twice as expensive as they were 7 years ago.
If it doesn't have wood on it, it's not a real gun.

But where's the memes?
We of discuss combat shovels ITT
How do I make of fight with shovel?
>>32626388
its literally just a big flat club. not that much to discuss.
>>32626452
you are wrong, clubs have less than one edge.
Who the hell carries a combat shovel? Been playing too much BF1?
Any good contemporary rule books or papers on how the US government would deal with a mass "mutiny" or desertion?
>>32626310
No, because we switched to a volunteer army instead of using conscripts.
There's virtually no chance of a large scale mutiny in the US military anymore, short of a civil war.
>>32626351
So what you're saying is that they're unprepared... interesting.
>>32626763
No, they're completely prepared.
They've cultivated the "muh service" attitude among vets and the subsequent alienation they perceive amongst the general populace. Two pointless occupations were designed to instill that.
They've successfully managed to create a disenfranchised subset of the populace that is loyal to itself and immensely malleable.
Also that cover is triggering.
What is the best round and why is it the RIP?

Hi /k/,
I've bought into the 1911 meme for years and would like to know some opinions on the model/if there is a particular flavor that'd best suit a first time pistol owner.
I've had rifles and shotguns through my life but moving to the city has me thinking smaller is better.
Any thoughts or opinions?
>>32626157
Auto Ordnance
>>32626157
Buy one exactly how you want it because it's cheaper than buying a gun and having a smith do all the shit you want to it.
Spend a little money too, I really like my Springfield 1911s and am glad I didn't go with something cheaper like RIA.
>>32626157
Ruger SR1911. Really nice for the price and US made.
Or this >>32626191
Why has nobody made a pistol using the gas delayed blowback system of a Steyr GB?
>Simpler than the HK P7s design, and doesn't burn your hands shooting
>Allows for a very low bore axis
>Fixed barrel, recoils softer, easier to rack than a short recoil
Seems like a Glock killer to me.
>>32626014
Because there's no money in designing new things, when everybody just wants the same old Glock off.
>>32626014
>Those 80s A E S T H E T I C S
Still, fuck cleaning carbon shit out of your fun every few hundred rounds.
>>32627083
Is grabbing a beer and rewatching MASH while cleaning not good enough for you?

Hahahahahah OMG!!
This can't be real!!! Hahahahah
Thanks for cluttering up the board with this shit. Please, go KYS.
>>32625878
Nigger please... the G1911 has a giggle switch
What gun is this and what Era is it from?
>>32625730
FAMAS, Korean War.
>>32625730
Tommy gun
>>32625730
That looks like a WW1 Era Russian soldier with an MP40 smg
I recently bought this rifle which I believe might be a Mannlicher Schoenauer, anyone familiar?
Given from the proofmarks, I'm guessing it might date from 1938-40 given the German proofmarks and the lack of a Steyr date code.
Finding rings for these mounts is going to be difficult.
Here's a better picture of the overall rifle, my toaster of a phone botched the first one.
Anyone ever bought guns at a police auction? Where does one go to attend such an event?
>>32625592
not worth the hassle. just get cool with a pawn star that does it, and eat the $20 he makes on it.
>>32625592
I wish I knew. I want a murder weapon
>>32625612
>not worth the hassle
So you don't know?
What is the purpose of the design of a kris sword
>>32625068
costly signaling. Basically an expression of the smiths skill that confers status as an exotic good. People want the status, more smiths learn to make the waves. Enough iterations later, it is no longer exotic but a culture fixture.
I don't know about the kris style, but the European flambard swords and later flamberge rapiers supposedly cut through wood easier and sent vibrations through an attacker's sword when parrying, respectively. Also, a "flame blade" with waves like that was kind of like the medieval mercenary's tacticool beard and tattoos. It was kind of a "tough guy" thing. Maybe it's a similar reasoning in SE Asia?
it's to make it as inconvenient as possible to sharpen so that you take it back to the smith for service-- it's like the ancient version of how all car dealerships these days are service centers the margins are all so tight on the car that the real profit is in overcharging on maintenance.
