Hey, did you guys know about this interesting old pistol called the Bergmann Automatic Pistols?

Haven't seen I an this zealous since his video on the development of the 1911.

I hope you're not trying to imply in some way that this is a bad thing.
Ian got access to what is obviously an incredible collection of Bergmanns, apparently all in one place, so he's going to do videos on as many of them as possible. It's not every day some turboautist collector of some rare century old pistols lets you come into his house and present his collection.
If that doesn't appeal to you I don't know what the fuck you're doing watching FW.

Hello my girlfriend would like a concealed carry pistol. I carry a Shield 9mm in a Crossbreed holster IWB, but it seems like the way she dresses wouldn't really allow IWB comfortably.
Is off body (handbag) carry reliable? What are the pros and cons? I was thinking of getting her a revolver for CCW
>>32630724
Depends on how big the purse is
>>32630724
>Is off body (handbag) carry reliable
No. Jamal can snatch her purse and not only have her money, phone, etc, he'll also have a loaded gun he can pull out and rape her at gunpoint/shoot tyrone cause he drank the last OE 40 oz.
Get her a single stack .380 and have her carry IWB or appendix.
>>32630724
She can shove it up her cunt because she's a fucking whore

Thread discussion is about sci-fi/future weaponry. Topics are, doctrine of use, weapon effects (both on personnel and objects.) Body armor/active protection, different weapon types, and finally what will take over, energy or ballistic weapons?
>>32630458
Never realized it was chambered in 10mm.

>>32630458
energy weapons would have to overcome certain obstacles to get mass-produced for infantry.
1- Cost. This may be THE determining factor
2- Power. Current hand-held lazers can blind, but not kill
3- energy dissipation. lasers tend to fan out in a cone after a while, resulting in less energy put on-target.
4- armor penetration. This has to do with power, but simply put no one wants to stand there and focus a beam on something for half a minute.
5- logistics of energy storage/production. Something needs to hold that charge.
However, laser guns may have advantages for long-distance ships that have large amounts of power available, but to whom normal logistics lines cant work. That way, they always have energy instead of carrying around a bullet factory and having to find copper/steel for ammo and whatnot.
Hello I was thinking today, what's the point of a handgun hold open on the last round? I realize that it is a good idea since it's faster to slingshot and go into battery for your next mag as opposed to racking all the way back, and also it shows when you're empty.
Do rifles do this? Do some of them do this? Why or why not?
>>32630292
Yes, so that you can pop a mag in and load without having to pull the damn thing backwards.
Not all of them, but a lot do
ARs do
Most AKs do not
>>32630292
Ar-15 already does it.
M1 already does it.
SKS already does it.
All of them already do it.
All semiautos hold open when empty or else the next round would not chamber in.
>>32630315
>Most AKs do not
You don't know that's why.
just picked up one of these babies. any tips? it's my first glock.
>>32630225
I've had one for years, they are nice.
Get tritium sights. Avoid Korean extendos
>>32630241
>$150 sights
damn, I gotta use that dough for ammo
>>32630257
The stock sights work just fine desu just get them at a later date and get ammo now that is what i would do.
I've heard instructors and RSOs say it's "bad for your pistol" to chamber rounds by releasing the slide catch, why is this? Is it really any different from pulling the slide to release the slide catch?
>>32630188
They're probably trying to mitigate issues from slamfires, but then again 3/4 of RSO's are jaded dicks that get off on yelling at people.
>>32630188
Common tacticool lore is that under high stress situations you lose all fine motor skills and won't be able to release the slide with the slide release
>>32630211
>>32630226
But where does the "not good for the pistol" meme come from? Can it actually damage your gun?
