Is it worth selling my gaming laptop?
I know /g/ despises these motherfuckers, but nobody can say they aren't convenient when they work.
My laptop specs are as follows:
i7 4710HQ Quadcore
16Gb RAM
Nvidia GTX 860M (Maxwell version, identical to a 750Ti)
4k 48Hz screen
I've had it for a year and I doesn't thermal throttle at all.
I want to get back into music production and CS Go, and the 15" screen isn't going to cut it for either. So I am considering an ultra wide that supposedly works on HDMI 1.4.
Now I have the option to keep the laptop, or sell it and build a micro desktop.
This one guy offered me $600 with a GTX 960 for my laptop without the SSD I have in it. If I built a desktop I wanted an RX480, but a 960 should be fine until Vega is released.
If I accepted his offer I could get the following while breaking even:
i5 4460
16Gb RAM
GTX 960
512Gb Crucial SSD
Ultra wide 2560x1080 monitor
Asrock M8 barebones
If you were in my position, what would you do?
>>56067896
Buy kneepads
>>56067896
Well that depends on you. If you're fine running games on high instead of ultra then keep the laptop.
If you enjoy being able to take it out with you then keep the laptop.
You get my point
maybe sell it for 600 but it's generations behind. Doesn't matter about diminishing returns, either.

Is KDE usable yet?
How come Fedora is the only OS where my wireless card works out of the box?
It doesn't work on Windows (I have to install a driver from the disc).
It doesn't work on Debian or Ubuntu (I have to install the driver from source).
It doesn't work on CentOS (trying to get it working now).
But on Fedora, it runs with no problems even from the live CD.

What are the /g/ approved trackball mice for various price ranges?
>>56067834
trackball mice are never /g/ approved

The concept of '/g/ approved' input devices is retarded. You have to find out which ones are comfy and best suit your needs. Notice how all the '/g/ approved' mice are all really /v/ approved?
Did I do good?
I get 550 on both read and write.

So here's the situation: I have windows 10 and I started my computer and it have me a blue screen and stop code 0xc_0000021a(i think) and I can't get into Windows at all. Can't reinstall, safe mode doesn't work, can't diagnose itself. The only thing able to be done is open the command prompt. I have absolutely NO installation media. I know there's nothing I can do but can some shitty IT place fix it? Or do I have no option but to buy a brand new copy of WINDOWS 7 and move on with my life?

Fuck off
Anons,
Somewhat regular anon here.
I've been thinking about buying the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 once it's available in my country. I just think it's a rather sexy looking phone and I'm really tempted, to be honest.
Currently, I own a Meizu MX4 and it's great, absolutely brilliant. It does everything I need it to do and design-wise, it's very elegant (Gotta love the home button).
That would be the major reason as to why I wouldn't buy the Note 7: if you guys think it won't be that much of a leap between the two phones, I'll keep the MX4.
So, should I get the Note 7 or should I keep the MX4?
Thanks!
>>56067458
the only reason i won't get a note7 is because there's no flat version.
>>56067543
I'm not particularly enthusiastic about the edges, but they don't really turn me off either.
Do the edges feel too weird at first?
I handled an s6 edge once. The edges feel very weird and add little to no functionality.
holy fuck I just today came in contact with one of the pic related with latest android(I think) and it was actually pretty good with smooth ui, design like sugar. Last time I checked android was a piece of shit with piss poor memory management, hideous dark ui, lag even on home screen and near no privacy settings. Ive been using iPhone since like 4 years and I feel like switching lately. Should I do it?
See pic related.
>>56067415
Android has been bretty gutt since about late 2014, in my experience. Pretty much all flagships just werk, and even their mid-tier shit is now very decent as well.
As far as switching, I don't give a flying fuck what you do.
>>56067431
I don't exactly expect my phone to handle torrents and store terabytes of data. I just need something that works flawless. I happen to get my jimmies rustled over slightest lags bc autism.
>$1,000 "pro" computer
>can't do simple tasks like view/create webm
>can't download torrents
>>56067380
If you don't want to buy it, that's fine.
>>56067482
I don't, but the question is why would anyone want to buy it other than "It's Apple!"
>>56067380
Would probably be great for the parents. Would save heaps on time.
