So, why Google is making a new OS, /g/?
>>56069714
Botnet
Linux is too easy to customize even when they try to lock it down
They want a new OS to keep you in line
>minor thunderstorm
>power doesn't even go out
>no fallen trees
>cell phone tower goes out for no fucking reason
>second time this summer
>can't get data or voice on phone
Why is this allowed?
Why don't carriers get fined when their infrastructure fails in absence of a natural disaster?
Because this country is run by telecoms and they are completely immune to the law.
Need I remind you that Rogers and Bell were busted 3 times working together for price fixing, including a secret meeting in Belize, and they were never punished for it.
>Sask and Manitoba
>$55 w/5GB data
>Rest of Canada
>$54 w/750MB
It's bullshit that the only good plans are in Saskatchewan and Manitoba, and everywhere else is shit.
It's allowed because no one can do anything about it.
Currently stress testing my 6600k in P95. First try at 4.3ghz on stock voltage of ~1.16v. Figure I'll let it ride for 3-5 hours and be satisfied. One test did just hit 57C as I was posting, though.
Surprisingly posting this is perfectly smooth.
Only my second time OCing a cpu, any tips? Am I fucking something up, or did i dun good?
>>56069599
One core got as hot as 65C for an isntant, but dont think I'm going to worry until 75C. Wish I had spent more on my gpu, had the money. Oh well, sell it a year down the road. Does everything I want at 1080p right now.
Those temps are great. What are you using for a cooler? A 1 hour burn is more than sufficient. Keep in mind nothing will ever push your cpu quite as hard as p95. Even maxing out all the cores doing a transcode or render.
>>56069748
I am using 27.9 because I heard 28.x was extremely stressful to the point that it may be harmful, if that makes a difference. Should I try for 4.4 or more on stock vcore, or am I being greedy? Would it increase temps if I didnt add more juice?
The temps did get a lot higher for a bit there, but fans sound even quieter than originally now with lower temps.
Hey, I just cant see webM vídeos from 4chan on Microsoft Edge. MS said that there is already compatbility with WebM VP9 vídeo since Anniversary Update but just dont work.
Anyone knows what is the reason it doesnt Works here?
>>56069432
>runs into problem with Microsoft Edge
>hasn't installed one of the dozens of superior alternatives
>>56069448
Maybe anon is one of the few people stuck with Windows RT and can't install anything that isn't compiled for ARM and available from the Windows Store
>>56069500
Im using a Dell Laptop. Im a UX designer and Im trying to adapt my day use on MS Edge to test navigation and websites.
I'm fucking done.
This is the third time this month that Windows 10 has FORCED me to reboot in order to install updates, and each update takes 10 minutes longer than the last.
Is there any reason I shouldn't switch to a Linux OS right fucking now?
>>56069422
Daily reminder that you always can Install Gentoo...
When is the first time?
>>56069422
Use O&O Shutup 10 to disable automatic updates. Re-enable when you feel like updating. Or just manually disable/renable the service.
>2016
>there is no working raster graphics application for linux
wtf is this bullshit? can it really be that hard?
>use gimp
>move a layer
>sorry but you cannot draw in the part of the layer that was previously outside the image because the layer boundary is not automatically resized
>have a layer with a mask
>want to move the image without moving the mask
>sucks for you. gimp wasn't made for such rare use cases
>>56069382
there isn't a good open source sound application either, audacity is fine when you want to cut audio, but not for creating it.
>>56069431
look: I want to make a simple 3x3 for /a/ but it's straight up impossible with the tools available on linux. how am I supposed to deal with this?
>>56069453
install gentoo
>finally decide to upgrade to anniversary edition
>see this
fug
>using malware
>>56069290
Windows did you a favor, Classic Shell is literal malware, look it up.
I live in San Francisco and make somewhere around 220,000. How do I get to the next level and make 300,000 plus a year.
install gentoo
rent out a closet
Sell your boipucci.
>on linux
>no idea what the fuck to use for video editing
what do you guys use?
Windows/NT
Windows Movie Maker in Wine
It's free
Kdenlive or Lightworks
why is the anneversary edition not coming down as a normal update?
i literally just had a system update but its still 15xx whatever
is there something broken in that version?
did you agree to the new "terms"? you better... or else...
>>56069224
i havent even activated it since november when I installed from my pirated windows 7
Gee, Bill, how come your mom lets you have TWO control panels?
other than being ugly is there any reason not to get this RX480?
that fan technology is pretty neat
have a 290 now
>canadians
>>56069135
buy it and give your 290 to me
Where the fuck can I find one that is in stock.
>>56069176
one of the fans on my 290 is fuckey
>Get myself a top of the line gaming rig with a GTX 1070 now that I'm old enough to afford it.
>Sit down and realize every game bores me and that I could be doing much better things with my time and my life.
Gonna sell it on craigslist for what I can get and just go back to my fairly decent laptop I guess. Might keep the monitor.
>wasting 100 hours of my life working to achieve meaningless shit in skyrim
>buying a 27 inch LCD display (but it was only $8)
>>56069063
Every day there's another "I bought a high end gaming rig just to realize I don't give a fuck about modern gaming" thread. Get in line.
>>56069241
Yeah, yeah, I know.
Was it the final nail in the coffin?
never root against the poot
>>56069062
Big businesses not writing apps for Windows Phone isn't a new thing.
>>56069099
Yes, but maybe people will finally realized that owning a phone that will probably never get the most recent apps is nothing but stupid
If a man succeeds in creating an a.i psychologically perfectly comparable to a human being, will he be a God in the eyes of its creation ?
>>56068984
no why the fuck would he be a god, do you know what a god is dumbass?
>>56068984
If anything, he'd be like a father. Why would he see him as a god when he would be perfectly able to understand the process by which it was created?
that would require alot of if else statements
New to c++, really need some input here.
How's this look? It works and I feel amazing for doing something this basic. Did I fuck anything up?
#include <iostream>
int main(){
int a = 0;
if (a > 20){
std::cout << "So a > 20?";
}
else{
std::cout << " Fuck Its wrong";
}
return 0;
}
>>56068972
two things, it's a short snippet so it's hard to judge anything from it - but keep using the full namespace (std::) as that's good practice.
second, I recommend using code tags on /g/:

Gr8 b8 m8 I r8 8/8, no h8 or deb8
>>56068994
