you are in correct place

is the $1000 just case or monitor too?

how many HDDs?
heavy gaming or just moderate?

big contenders for case are
PHANTEKS Enthoo Evolv ITX or ATX version

or node 304, boxy iTX
also fractal cases are worth checking out
>>
Just case. I want to be able to run BF1and such games as good as possible for $1000. But if my father can support me with some money I'd estimate a budget of $1300. If I'd roll with a Mini-ITX I'd think I'd choose a BitFenix Prodigy. But what's the difference between ITX and ATX?

Would it be smart to start learning one of these languages today to anticipate a need in the future?

If Dart or Rust become more mainstream there will be a sudden need for programmers in that field?

Which one of these languages that have been gaining traction you think has the most chance for wide adoption and therefore better employability?

It'll take less time to learn the languages later than the time it'll take to justify learning a language that wont be worth shit lol

Hi everyone.

I'm really unsure about the recent events in consumer pc tech in terms of what to favor and such. I've been on the same laptop for 6 years now and I'm looking to buy either a new laptop (cause I've grown accustomed to them, won't really be travelling that much) or a desktop.

My budget is 4k USD all in all, not a single penny more. In a desktop I'm looking for something reliable 1440p gaming thing, with no regards to how much space it takes up (I actually would prefer a full tower case than anything smaller, because muh thermals and I like big cases in general). In a laptop, I don't care about it being heavy as fuck or big/bulky as long as it is powerful and can game in at least 1080 but more preferably in 1440p.
What I do care about in both is that I would like to have an easy time in doing maintenance on them (I'd prefer not to have any need to do so, but eventually both would need some TLC) and that I would not want to pay any "premium price" or "brand price" if it is not justified. (Meaning, that if the specific brand can show something at least semi-tangible to make up for the elevated price, then it is acceptable, but if it is just some "We're this company, so we sell our shit for 150% cause we can" that I'd rather avoid.)

So now you know where I am coming from - thanks for reading so far - and here does my question stem from:
What should I get? A desktop or a laptop? Can I get like an amazing deal for a 980 GPU laptop at a place like pcspecialist or origin and be better off somehow than getting a desktop? Or should I go with a desktop but then what parts would be good if the biggest workloads would be gaming, video editing, and some light programming?

I appreciate any insight, thanks. Have some Raptor Fonzi.

and you don't need to spend near $4k for something as light as just gaming.

spend like half that on a logical increments 'extremist' build instead.

Thanks.

Hmm, and what about AMD Zen? Should I wait for that to perhaps convince intel to lower prices or is it not worth bothering at all?
>>
>>56076530
I hope as much as the next guy that it turns out to be as good as they say. It'll give Intel a long-overdue flame up their arses, and give AMD a little more of the limelight and money they need.

However, I can see it being like all the other "big" AMD releases in the past two-or-so years, and just being "good". Not bad, but not earth-shattering, just "good". Shame, but that's how I see it going. There doesn't look to be any unique evidence that makes me think different to, say, GCN3 on Fury, for example.

I would wait. There's no telling for certain how things will pan out, it's just around the corner.

Some people would argue that there's always something just around the corner, and that there's no point waiting. This is true, but it's coming in October, so unless you really neeeeeeeeed it, I'd wait. There's always something good on the market if you choose not to, though. Just because it isn't the latest doesn't mean it's not good. Look at the 2500K and 2700K. They're pretty old, but they still perform admirably.

Not that guy, btw

Hi guys!

Jerk, here. I'm building a pc and would value some expert critiquing.

Is there anything in this build I can replace for something cheaper or remove entirely?

Yeah, i would advice him to get a higher wattage 80+ bronze rated powersupply instead of a 450w 80+ gold one. otherwise looks fine, micro atx boards scare me tho, no upgradability in the future.

I have came up with an internet messaging idea that will put things like Kik, Facebook Messenger, Whatsapp, and any other type of IM service in its grave. If I do not put together a team to begin to implement this, others will within the next 10 year guaranteed, Will literally revolutionize how people interact with each other while online. What do I do?

If not, look for someone who is good at lying.

It's very important to get a good logo designer and think of a good, catchy name. Don't forget to buy one of those .io domain names for it. You'll need to set up a big crowdsourcing project to get enough funds to clear your project.

So 2/8 buttons on my g400 finally broke, though they arent the "main" buttons (dpi down and app switch) I do use them for other things(keybindings, etc) since this 2 buttons are the most accessible and the least used. Having said that, Iosing them definately is noticable. So what does /g/ suggest as a replacement? This was my second mouse after replacing a still fully functioning 8 years old MX518 filled with gamer gunk (thats splooge for you filthy casuals)

currently looking at g402 which is at good price $42 and free same day at amazon. is this one any good?
