If you want your phone to just be a robust, integrated bit of life technology then iPhone is a damn fine example of what you want. I've always been into tech but I have laptop/PC/tablet for that kind of stuff - my phone needs to be a phone/social media tool and a computer at a push when the situation rarely requires it. I don't even put music on mine - I have a dedicated device that sounds tons better.

false. though copyright holders almost always go for site owners, rippers, uploaders, people who do releases etc. all you need to have "committed a crime" is to have connected to the swarm at all, you don't have to upload anything of the actual data the torrent is meant to distribute. which also brings up the question of all law-enforcement and copyright hawks actually committing crimes in order to "stop crime" by connecting to the swarm themselves, but that's another issue. just setting your upload to 0 will not protect you, you're just making things slower for everyone, including yourself.
