I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you’re referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. OK found a fix opened it up and the soldering gets a bit loose on the jack since I don't have an soldering iron to resolder it I rolled up a bit of tape to put between the case and the jack keeping it in position and it seems to work so far.
