Anyone ever try this version of Windows 10? I shot myself in the foot and did not upgrade, and need a Windows 10 key for my new desktop. I found out I can get this for free through my university. Will I be missing out a lot of features?
Slightly off topic question: Anyone ever had luck getting keys from those shady websites on Google Shopping for like $30?

I got you covered senpai.

Forgot to mention that you can install any edition this way. I suggest enterprise because it lets you easily disable telemetry.
Education is just like Enterprise except Cortana is disabled with no option to enable it.

Wow sounds like a superior version
>>56267349
thanks senpai, I'll look into that
>>56267407
that's good to know, I'll try this as a priority first

Do people think the telemetry data collection is that bad? I don't have much issue with it
>>56267349
There's no telling when MS will decide to block those keys. Not sure if it's worth risking it...
the edu version is basically the enterprise version. you cannot complete disable telemetry (but who fucking cares), but you do retain the ability to disable the store and shit via gpo unlike the other versions
i got my copy from dreamspark

Yeah the dreamspark edition gives you 10 Pro and is super easy to get - just need to use a .edu email once.

>blocking volume keys
You have no idea how this works, do you?
>>56268209
I'll keep my tinfoil hat on and let the normies provide debugging data.

My issue with pro is that you can't disable the lockscreen anymore. The extra click needed to dismiss it is annoying.

The data is actually fairly innocuous, and it's utterly useless unless in bulk. So it doesn't really bother me because it's not like they're getting much meaningful data out of my telemetry. Also MS has some pretty stringent requirements on accessing said data.
Also Win10 provides basic telemetry data no matter what so I don't think disabling the extra stuff will do you much good
And yeah the lockscreen thing annoys me to no end

You can still upgrade. There is nothing different in this version, its like they still want people to get it free
>>56267349
Is there a step by step tutorial for this?
>>56268361
That post is already step by step. What more do you need?
>>56268266
I have a .edu email but I do not attend IT classes can I still get it?
>>56267575
Cortana's pretty useful
>>56267349
don't use a dodgy key or pirate software lol
If you're using Dreamspark, "Windows 10 - Multiple Editions" should be underneath "Education" edition, you can use that for any version. I'm running Pro atm

>>56267575
It unquestionably is.
>>56267089
Your university should also provide W7 pro keys. Install that
>>56269324
they're not meant for the use OP is intending
If you just want to upgrade, why not just upgrade?

i used this method on my parents computer which was running 7 home Daz loader
works great, you need to have a previous Win version though

Those are MSDN keys, reddit has its own sub for that shit too r keyswap iirc.
Not only are you at the mercy of MS, but also at the mercy of the seller keeping their MSDN account active.
There have been many reputable sellers on reddit that vanish once their MSDN membership runs out.
I'm not sure how DAZloader works, but I can tell you how KMSpico works.
Basically volume licenses call home to a server to authenticate windows.
KMSpico emulates that server and whenever windows phones 'home' it phones the KMSpico running on your PC and gets the green light.
You can even play around with those settings yourself using the slmgr.vbs tool

it's not some voodoo magic
