>Gundam did Macross better than any Macross series could
How did they pull it off lads?
Is there a single mecha series that basically looks at the "kids piloting robots" trope and says "that's fucking retarded why the fuck are you using child soldiers this is war" and just goes full military like that?
Something that covers the logistics of a 4 story mass shifting air around at hundreds of miles and hour and all the resources it would take and all that shit? Something, I dunno, more /k/ and /sci/.
But its because its war that they are using child soldiers.
There's a damn good reason why anywhere in war is a fucking hellhole, its not just the death and destruction, there's also the fact that people tend to ignore the rules and human rights if it meant that they would survive or win.
Simple example, the Law of Armed Conflicts.
If you're following the "rules" you're devoting resources to things that don't help you fight the war. Sure you have the moral high ground, but is it worth the resources spent? There's no right or wrong answer for that, and either choice is understandable.

Fuck Maria and fuck slavshits
It kinda disproves you laugh at "a dying breed."
Even the nips are starting to like her. The only problem people have anymore is that, because she has two gears, she show up in the gacha often.
>If it weren't for Tomino the design on the left would have been the finalized original Gundam
Defend this Okawarafags.
Actually it was Yasuhiko who proposed the changes. He was the animation director of the series. Okawara talked at length about it in one of the interviews a while back. Neither Yas nor Tomino were very friendly with him back then.
Can't really blame Okawara for that though, he was just following 70s toy design norms. The producers proffered the design on the left and even made a Chogokin of it.
Is Gunbuster overrated on /m/?
It was rather average.

It's sad to see Ryuki end but that ending was pretty weird. So who's hyped for 555?
So I just finished all of the original MSG and Zeta, and now I'm about five episodes into ZZ Gundam.
Is it absolutely necessary to watch all of this before CCA? I knew that ZZ was going to be a "Meh" watch, but I didn't think it would be this retarded. I hear it gets better around episode 20-21, but I dunno if I want to slog through that many episodes.
On a slightly unrelated note, should I watch Unicorn immediately after CCA or get through the major OVAs (08th MS Team, 0080, 0083) first?
I'm just a little further down the same path as you in terms of viewing, finished CCA last week. ZZ does get a lot better at the half way point but it is ok to skip some episodes early on if you have to. Once they get to Earth, shit starts to pick up.
As for Unicorn or OVAs next, it's up to you. I'm going through 08th and War In The Pocket before Unicorn. I heard 0083 was exhaustive and boring, so I'm going to skip that for now.
Take a guess of what it is.
Rather than asking "what would he pilot", do you think that Golgo 13 would be a highly skill pilot?
Golgo 13 is the Japanese Bad Boy James Bond. There is nothing he can't do if the script requires it. Don't compare him to Amuro and other newtypes pilots. Golgo 13 can eat Amuro and Char for breakfast. He smokes, he fucks gorgeous women and always hits the mark.
No autistic newtpe can even compete with this guy. Deal with it.
How about we have a /m/ games thread?
I've recently being getting into the Zero Divide series. It might be the best /m/ fighting games
>cool robot designs
>great 80's sounding ost

Has anyone been keeping up with Code: Hardcore (SRW brawler) and Garrison Archangel (Gundam VS style arena)?
pic related apparently got released worldwide for Android and updated recently
Does /m/ like it
As far as films went, it was a total shitshow.
As far as mech action went, there was fuck all.
In fact in the end battle mostly you just see humans shooting offscreen. Megatron and Optimus fight for literally 9 seconds, and all Optimus does is kick him through a wall after cutting his arm off.
It's fucking terrible mate.
Does /m/ hate Code Geass like they do Gundams Seed and IBO, Macross Frontier and Gurren Lagann?
I'm hype for the return of Lelouch. Been a big fan of this series because of the politics and strategy, but one of the most interesting aspects for me is that the Gawain and the Shinkiro have keyboard controls. Has any other show tried that?
Yes. Even shitpost on /a/ about it every other day, going on and on about how shit it is, how shit they are for liking it and how much better it would be if we all watched ZZ instead.
Why did this have to be a Gundam again?
>GP02 will never have GM variant offspring based on its concept because Zeon stole it
>/m/ praises this show to high heaven, so I give it a watch
>this is what I get:
>Chirico is a bland, boring character, who has barely any memorable moments to himself - just goes from a stoic guy to stoic guy with friends (and that development happened by episode 8 so the next 44 episodes are pretty static)
>well, to be honest, they try to develop him there on whenever a character says "Chirico is such an emotionless guy!" and then he proves them wrong by being brave for others or some shit, this happens every four episodes
>shamelessly rips off scenes from films such as Platoon and 2001
>takes the melodrama of newtype romances in Gundam and stretches it over 20 episodes with more sap than ever before because Chirico and Fyana are more emotionally stunted than Char Aznable
>despite "muh grit" the protagonists have the most intense plot armor I've seen in a real robot show
>the main villain, that we'd been hearing about for 40 episodes, goes out like a bitch, literally saying shit like "wahhh i want the ultimate power wahh it's not fair!"
>the four arcs honestly feel like four series they bashed together, all with different tones that don't mesh. and the ptsd angle kind of waves in and out and never really comes together
>after the first episode, nothing notable happens in the Woodo arc except Chirico meeting Fyana
>the final 13 episodes have the most ridiculous plot they pulled out of nowhere, a literal "deus ex machina" (god in the machine) where some magical computer entity just starts doing magical shit and manipulating reality, i thought this was gritty, not more mystical than UC Gundam
>the ending has them deciding to be shot out into space in a cryogenic tube because they cannot be free. because floating around frozen out in the open is a safer idea than hiding away while conscious. i mean really?
Stupid fucking anime. Zeta was honestly a lot better.
