So, i got a call for a job.
It's probably some trash face to face job where you ask people money for the poor niggers of the world.
I don't want to end up in a call center or anything.
So i'm here /g/, begging you to help. Where can i start about programming ? Which language is worth to learning ?
Pic not related.

HELLO.
I WANT TO INSTALL "CRIPTEXT" ON "SAFARI" 6 ON iOS 9.3.5, BUT I CANNOT UNDERSTAND HOW.
I DOWNLOADED (TO "GOOGLE DRIVE") THE PLUGIN FILE FROM "CRIPTEXT'S" WEBSITE; HOW TO PROCEED AFTER THAT?

Yikes, you're a fag
HELLO?
I've installed Wine, Winetricks, Playonlinux, Steam and a virtual machine with Windows on my Linux system.
And I just realized all programs and games I need run natively anyway. What do I do now?
Install emacs

I can still hear the kernel's binary blobs festering at night.
Why are computers so nice
Does anyone else treat their computer like it's alive
The typing gives me a tingling sensation
I dream about my computer
I stroke it and say nice words to her in the mic
On her Birthday I upgrade her components
She's the only friend I have
>>56263177
i know that feeling bro, i love my computer too
>Female ports small and finnicky
>Cucked by your phone charging cable
My computer's gotten kinda old and creaky, I am going to retire it to media center duties and get a new one to love and caress soon.
I think I am going to buy one of these when they come out:

Basically, the way 4chan makes its thumbnails is very well understood and more or less boils down to "remove every so and so many pixels". With that in mind, if you make every so and so pixel one from another image, you can make the thumbnail different from the image as the thumbnail pixels are greatly outnumbered by the other pixels when you view the full version. This is greatly oversimplified but I hope you get the general idea.
So I've bought pic related a few days ago (y700, 15.6' FHD IPS) and the screen is giving me headaches. Colors are great and so on, but there's just something weird about that screen. When I look at the screen it feels like my brain is fighting it. After looking at it for a couple of hours my head starts to hurt. Is it a defective screen? Or my eyes are too fucking sensitive?
I have one more year of masters degree so I will be looking at this fucker for 12 hours a day sometimes, so it would be pretty bloody good if my head didn't start to hurt after the first hour.
Maybe try something like f.lux or redshift to tone down the color temperature to something warmer and less harsh on your eyes.
If that doesn't work, see if you can swap out a better panel.
Hz of altesst 60? If higher, then put it down to 60. Also turn the brightness down and use flux
Does it have a glare screen? If so, that's your problem. I worked for Lenovo before and their screens are too reflective sometimes.
LG, what the fuck is this? It's not permanent burn-in, it goes away eventually, but why the fuck am I getting image persistence on a fucking thousand dollar ips monitor?
Add yet another manufacturer to my long don't-buy-monitors-from list.
Well lad return time for you
Also

We couldn't have done it without Linus :)

Linus is only 46 years old currently, he's got a good 40-50 more years of work ahead of him.
Hey /g/, I'm thinking of getting a laptop for University. I commute 1h30 to and from University, so something portable is best, and I was thinking of pic related. I have a few questions:
1 - Is the 12.5" screen comfy for watching muh cartoons?
2 - how long should I expect the battery to last?
3 - I assume this is powerful enough for programming assignements and such, correct?
Also, should I try to get the 8Gb of ram? Also, is the IPS Panel much of an improvement vs the TN one?
I would recomend an X230 (or X230T if you're into that)
Btw,
1) Yes
2) Got a refurb X230T with the 6 cell battery, can squeeze up to 6 hours with wifi and 3G off, and 4 to 5ish hours of normal use (battery was not new tho)
3) Yes, it should be fast and reliable
Also, i've upgraded it to 12GB of RAM and it's really snappy
>>56263317
Not OP but I'm in the same situation, I'd like to get x230 because it's cheap but I just cannot deal with how fugly it looks, It's fucking massive and plastic looking compared to an x250 and that trackpad is so small.
>>56263393
That's the appeal, my dude.
Old Thinkpad with a lightweight linux distro is the definition of comfy.
Was doing a bit of trouble shooting on my PC (On laptop to post this) and accidentally disabled "USB Controller" in my MSI BIOS. Now my keyboard/mouse/fucking anything doesn't work so I can't get back into the BIOS to enable it again...
Am I fucked /g/uys?

Alternatively, there might be a "clear CMOS" jumper or button that you use when starting up

Thanks that helps.
>>56262367
that's some terrible nomenclature man
why so many business people not realize that table/object/etc names contextually describe their fucking members is beyond me
>>56262390
Why is that bad? Would you rather have it named 'obj1', 'obj2', etc?
It really doesn't matter what it's called. It's just easy reference for me. It's worked on a number of other scripts I just don't know why this is giving me this error. I might have to go home and get drunk tonight and then come back at it with a fresh set of eyes in the morning.
>>56262390
I see where you're go I'll modify the tables and take 'order' out of it.

Nice peripherals make all the difference.
Is the regular non-LTSB enterprise edition (CB or CBB) decent if I disable all the bloat with scripts like debloat-windows-10? Windows 8.1 is already full of telemetry shit (that I disabled) and in October they'll start to bundle updates anyway.
Does people even audit (externally) what's coming out of the enterprise edition? Because I'm sure as hell you can't trust pro/home to do what it says.
>>56262176
Dont fall for the LTSB meme as I did. It's nice and all but It doesnt get upgrades. I was stuck on 10240 when 10586 was long out. So you get to live with old W10 version full of bugs. Just go W10E and be done with it.
Good to know. I plan on installing regular W10E AU (CB) and go back to CBB so I only receive security updates and bugfixes, IIUC. Seems like a bad idea to stay on CB. I want to receive major updates only after a month or so.
I feel like I have no choice but to upgrade to W10 Enterprise (from 8.1), I really don't feel like manually checking and installing updates again. At least when they didn't came bundled I could search for the KB and get some feedback.
>>56262939
Well LTSB got the Anniversary update if you haven't noticed.
