sup /g/,
ive had this PSU for like a year and a half. thing is literally brand new, but a friend gave it to me because it doesn't work. tested it with a mobo and using jumping the contacts and confirmed this. what could be the cause/is it worth repairing? thanks.
it's so frustrating because i don't know shit but like the thing is brand new (literally still has plastic on it) and if i can figure it out, i can try fixing it ;~;

Why aren't they selling modular video cards yet, that we can assemble with our own choice of pieces? When I assemble my computer, the part where I insert my video card feels wrong. It's like I'm inserting a whole pre-manifactured one-piece computer into my computer. It feels like I should be able to customize and upgrade this. Would that even be feasible?
Too complicated for the average Nvidiot.
>>56269301
Technically I guess you could call it a coprocessor.
Also you used to be able to upgrade ram
>>56269301
>get to save 30$ by getting a graphics card without the fugly reference cooler on it and install your own amazing one.
Would buy.
Best ad blocker out there?, and also u block origino nor other blocker i know is not blocking ads in facebook why is that?
>>56269295
Facebook is actively finding ways to foil ad blockers. As far as I know, Adblock Plus has already come up with a fix.
>>56269330
oh ok gonna try
>>56269330
nope still ads
He is not someone I want anyone in technology to emulate.
Snowden and Assange are much better role models.
They need not be independent of each other, because they have achieved in different areas.
In that respect they are unable to be compared.
Stallman has done little to reveal widespread government corruption, but Snowden has done very little to promote the cause of free software.
>>56269576
Stallman has done little to promote the cause of free software, all he has accomplished is permanently associating the movement with his hippie bullshit.

Is there a logical explanation why the fuck Microsoft makes it difficult to find a Windows product key?
>>56268731
Malwares, maybe?
>>56268748
probably, or
they want you to buy more licenses to give them more $$$
Produkey's results are bogus. Tried comparing my legit Office key to the one it spits out and it's completely different.
Athlon x4 880k, or i3 6100?
Is the i3 worth the extra price? It's ddr4, and the athlon is only ddr3.
Also, gtx 1060 6gb, or rx 480 8gb?
>inb4 driver overhead meme
Does that even matter with dx12?
This is going to be my first pc I've made in a while so I'm a little foreign to some specs and shit
>>56268683
What's your budget?
>does that even matter with dx12
Yes, yes it does.
>>56268713
Under 800 aud.
I can save 20 dollars buy going with the athlon x4.
Also, is rx 470 alright? It's quite a bit cheaper for the 4gb model, is it enough for 1440p? I'm not fussed over ultra settings.
>>56268776
Sauce or proof?
Should I get an i5 or i7?
>>56268571
depends on your $$$
I've seen an influx of first and second gen i5 owners now upgrading to the i7.
>>56268571
i5 lad
no point paying 50% more for 25% performance in only encoding basically.

Tried it. Didn't work.
I'm planning to open up a small pc shop where I'll do repairs and sell computers. To save money, I've been thinking of loading up my computers with a Linux distro and giving them the option to buy windows seperate.
I'm really liking solus so I'm thinking of bundling that with my computers, but Ubuntu is my second choice.
What does g think?
Is this a retarded idea? As an ausfag I'll be saving ~120 dollars for every pc I sell with solus or Ubuntu instead, which I'll be able to sell cheaper too.
Also, other than having more apps, any reason to choose Ubuntu over solus? Budgie desktop looks much nicer imo.
>>56268443
>is this a retarded idea
yes, but at least it's not as retarded as opening a computer repair business in 2016
>>56268443
Standard Ubuntu has one of the worst desktops desu.
Use Xubuntu or Lubuntu, they are much more comfy.
If you ever end up selling those tablet/laptop combos, install the standard Ubuntu as Unity is good for tablets.
>>56268785
I've personally had some weird experiences with spins, like not having a software center in Ubuntu mate, so I'd rather stick to the original DE and Distro if possible.
>>56268745
