Hello /g/entlemen, I was wondering what's the safety of using compressed air to clean / remove dust from a computer ?
I have those compressed air cans at work so I can probably jew one, but I'm fairly DIY as well so I just happen to own an air compressor and could probably use it to blow away shit
However, I'm afraid that the PSI generated by this would be too great and I would wreck something. I could immobilize the fans but it might still be trouble.
What do you guys think? Should I post this in /diy/ as well?
How do you guys clean your computers / electronics and how often?
Many thanks.

>How do you guys clean your computers / electronics and how often?
Vacuum cleaner for the entire computer, then a brush to remove dust on the individual components.
I have used it before, just make sure to spray at a safe distance and not directly on any fans, should be good.
Also it should have some filters because sometimes they have water and oils inside the tank.

vacuum cleaners generate static that could harm the machone's components
Did a little research myself , but would like to hear from people in the field . What are the pros and cons of being a computer programmer? Also about how long does it take to learn a language? Thanks

>What are the pros and cons of being a computer programmer?
Depends on where you work, who you work with, and what you work on.
>how long does it take to learn a language?
Depends on the language.
something like this

However, on average it's depressing how many wannabes and sperglords not knowing better are in the field, so it may not be worth making it your profession. Become a morgue attendant instead.
Hey /g/. Can anyone explain to me why the pixel is so horrifically inept and can anyone further explain to me why people on /spg/ seem to think it's a good phone?
I'm just warning everyone so they don't get memed like I did. I had a flip phone for like four months after having my iPhone for two years. I thought, hey, I'm starting my job soon, I better get a smartphone for business purposes. I was due for an upgrade and figured that the Pixel looked pretty cool (epic battery life, epic photos!).
I got fucked so hard you wouldn't believe it. It comes OUT OF THE BOX unable to charge. I have to delicately adjust it for ten minutes before the thing even recognizes that it has charging capability. I shit you not, I sat on the floor and plugged and unplugged my charger for fifteen minutes last night before it BRIEFLY made a connection. Terrible hardware.
The software is shit too. I can't log into ANYTHING that requires a manual login online. Doing so immediately crashes Chrome ("Chrome as stopped working. Restart?") ad infinitum. I have yet to be able to log into any site online OR post on 4chan AT ALL (some bullshit about the ISP). Terrible software.
I understand that this isn't the case for all the Pixels but my experience was a nightmare. Everyone who thinks that the Pixel is just inaccessible or super elite or whatever are wrong. It's riddled with problems.
Maybe you guys know this, I don't know. But fuck the Pixel and fuck Google.
>inb4 shill
I don't care about any smartphones, but this shit is disappointing. Anyone care to explain how something like this happens to a new flagship?
>buy phone
>charger doesn't work
>doesn't immediately get a refund
Chrome does suck on every phone though
Dude what it's wYyyy nice
spg is absolutely useless
all it's riddled with is poorfags trying to shill their latest purchase, or poorfags with a credit card that just bought the latest samshit/iphag/pixlel and are trying to rationalize their shitty purchase
make up your own mind when it comes to phones, all phone discussion should be banned on this board because it's cancerous
I wonder how Rajesh will defend this.

But i thought vidya was a big selling point for Win10 with it's DX12 meme.
What the fuck is up with modern websites? My hardware is faster than ever. I have more throughput than ever but pages still load slow and bog down my resources and lags. It makes me rage so hard. What the fuck is going on?
JavaScript
I don't know about you but despite being more bloated, websites of today load faster for me than websites did in the early 2000s.
Pretty sure even mobile optimized sites are larger than websites of yore.
I'm making a Swiss Army Knife of USB tools. I've got a 16GB flash drive that I already have Hiren's Boot CD and CCleaner on.
What are some other free, portable applications that could be useful on this? I work at a pretty busy PC repair shop, so doing things fast is key.

Image related, it's my current shitbox of a desktop system. Since the last DOTA2 Update fucked up my performance i dearly need a new graphiccard (i presume this is the solution -right?).
Can some kind anon name me a graphiccard which a) gives me a reasonable performance improvement with my system b) i can buy used from ebay for idk 50.- Euros c) works with my linux without problems?
i recherched the gfx-card-ranking websites but i failed to understand which card would fit best.
thx,
anon

Update your kernel first

Mint 18.1 is out with probably 4.8 kernel. Use that first of all. Second Nvidia has a better track record with Linux than AMD in terms of drivers. But don't expect the latest GPU's to have drivers for Linux.
Check if GTX 1060 or 1070 has Linux drivers.
Daily Reminder that Ubuntu is an OS written by pygmies scraping on flattened piles of rhino shit in sub saharan Africa
some of that code was taken to Europe and evolved into Linux Mint, which technically is based off Ubuntu and technically is compatible with Ubuntu, but offers a friendlier user experience and looks much nicer
HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH YOU MADE MY DAY, OP.

When buying a replacement battery for a laptop. Does it have to be the same mAh? My original battery was 4400mAh, and this one I was gonna buy is 5200 mAh. Does it have to be a 4400mAh like the oriignal?
>>58437662
No.
>>58437662
Just make sure the voltage is the same.
You can have more Amps per hour but you just have to make sure the voltage is the same.
Also NEVER but NEVER buy chink batteries.
Either buy branded batteries or find someone who replaces Battery cells with new Branded Cells.

If /g/ is so smart answer this
>Write a recursive method compTree(t1, t2) that compares two binary trees. compTree(t1,
t2) should return TRUE or FALSE, depending on whether the two trees are the same or not.
>>58437277
/g/ - homework
Do your own homework, Raj.
var compTree = function(tree1, tree2) {
var same = true;
if (tree1.left !== tree2.left) {
same = false;
}
if (tree1.right !== tree2.right) {
same = false;
}
return same && compTree(tree1.left, tree2.left) && compTree(tree1.right, tree2.right)
}
btw this will not work
