1 year too late, Intel will probably have a 'summer sale' by then and absolutely decimate AMD, and then by next january they will probably add 2 cores to the i3s,i5s, and i7s lines and 2 extra to the enthusiast line as well while keeping the price constant
so many ways Intel can rape AMD

I want to make Linux to look like Windows 95.
What programs should I implement for top simulation?
Install Windows 98
qemu
Install Win 98 SE with kernel extensions and thousands of other hacks and enjoy the definitive Windows experience.
I tried swapping my old CPU with an i7 6700k and exhibited the following symptoms:
>won't fully boot any os, throws page fault or similar errors
>reboots randomly even in UEFI
>reboots during memtest, sometimes quickly throws an error before rebooting
>in uefi CPU and temps look good
PC worked perfectly before, have had it for almost a year, memtest and everything ran fine. If I pop in the old cpu is works fine also.
The fuck should I do? Is the CPU bad?

>It has sent rockets into space, produced millions of the world's smartphones and built high-speed trains. But until now, one bit of manufacturing had perhaps unexpectedly eluded China: the ballpoint pen.
>A year ago Premier Li Keqiang went on national television and bemoaned the failure of his country to produce a good quality version of this seemingly-simple implement.
>Locally-made versions felt "rough" compared to those from Germany, Switzerland and Japan, Mr Li complained.
>The problem was not the body of the pen, but the tip - the tiny ball that dispenses ink as you write.
>It might be something we take for granted, but making them requires high-precision machinery and very hard, ultra-thin steel plates
>Put simply, China's steel has not been good enough. And it has struggled to shape its pen tips accurately.
>Precision engineering is thriving only in certain sectors such as aerospace and defence where the government has placed a high priority, says Prof Huang.
>Prof Huang says that China lacks a culture of excellence in precision engineering.

I applaud his honesty.
Truly a magnificent people.
This has been known for decades, anon. Chinese metallurgy is shit and production practices are abysmal. They're still in the 1800's early 1900s US free for all phase with snake oil salesmen, everybody cheating each other, wildcat banks, and people trying to build up brands as a sign of quality and excellence.
It is too bad they do not have years of folding steel to make high quality katanas like glorious Nippon!
Has anyone here ever seriously used an Enterprise™ operating system?
Big companies keep making these ugly Unix derivatives but I've never actually seen or heard of anyone using one in real life.
>>58435601
I'd rather kill myself then have to use something that ugly
Uni used to use rhel. It was alright
>>58435601
used Solaris 10.
big, resource heavy, and ugly, but could do all sorts of cool things with LUNs right out of the box

Nothing else to do
>>58435494
Several decades with outdated and obsolete computers after the iron curtain fell forced them into learning how OS and architecture really worked.

Fuck you /g/ for making me fall for the AMD meme. Bought a PC with an AMD card + processor a while ago and it was total garbage. Installing drivers was a nightmare, card had trouble handling the latest games after a year, and the fans were loud as shit but the card STILL was getting really hot under medium-high load.
Just upgraded to a new PC with NVIDIA card + Intel processor and all I know is I'm never listening to /g/ again. Card is super silent and never overheats, even when maxing out games at 144+ FPS on Ultra with MSAA x8. Display looks absolutely incredible and even a TN monitor's colors can be made super vibrant and crisp using NVIDIA control panel. Driver installation works seamlessly. Everything just looks so much better and there's 0 hassle whatsoever.
As someone who fell for the AMD meme, let me give anyone reading some advice: Never, ever, EVER buy AMD products. There is no reason whatsoever to buy that garbage. Unless you want to be a non-conformist hipster or are willing to go through a ton of hassle and a worse user experience just to save a few pennies, simply do NOT purchase AMD.
Did you try not being a retard?
bought an used r9 380 and a new freesync monitor
glad I fell for the meme tbqhwyf

Wtf is the difference to the g pro?
Hey, that one looks almost subtle.
My old MX518 still works, but I already had to replace one switch and the wheel's random scroll events are getting annoying. Maybe I can let it die next time.
Win fag here.
Recently an acquaintance recommended me Zorin but I don't know anything about it so I've decided to ask the most reliable source of information: 4chan
Has anyone here tried it yet? Do proprietary drivers work with it alright? Like Nvidia or AMD, wacom, canoscan? I've already tried ubuntu and arc quite a while ago and I remember ubuntu used to overheat when ever I've installed any vidya driver, while under windows 7-8 it worked just fine. It was also hard to get photoshop, flash pro, and other Adobe products running on ubuntu. It was a hassle to run windows programmes on it, downloading the correct libs, configuring the compatibility layer... etc, and was very unstable, crashing a lot, couldn't detect my scanner. I wonder if this zorin is any better?
>>58435392
Zorin is linux with different DE.
>>58435411
zorin is *ubuntu gnu/linux* with different DE.
>>58435643
That's it?
Damn what a turn down.
I was expecting something exotic. Well, windows stays I guess.
