sup guys, i usually go on /o/ so i'm kinda new to computers... i recently just built my first gaming pc and decided to overclock my monitor to 77hz (wouldn't go higher) from 60...
it seemed too easy, so now i'm wondering what are possible issues while doing this?
sorry for beating a dead horse, like i said i'm from /o/
>>58439027
Your monitor cannot go over 60hz, simple. My laptop lcd is the same, the gpu that powers it at 1366x768 cannot go any higher resolution or refresh rate.
I can only select between 40hz and 60hz at any resolution between 800x600 ~ 1366x768.
>>58439092
literally every game i'm running now is vsync capping at 77fps instead of 60 with no tearing or artifacts.
>>58439140
Desktops it is possible to OC, but laptops like mine are weak as piss.
Hello fellow Techanons.
My mother Passed away and i got her two "Old" Smartphones. I needed to Factory reset them both (Nobody knew her singpassword). Problem now is it STILL wants me to log in with my mothers Google acc. Nobody knows the password either.
So at that point i tried flashing. No usb debug on Fug. Tried to activate it via SDB but due to me being a mere noob i hit a bit of a roadblock.
One of the phones ( the S7E) is in Recov mode but doesnt get detected at all.
how should i proceed?
Thanks for the support.
Other info:
Packaging appears to been thrown away as no one could find any package neither any other thing like a warranty or a receipt.
Give them back, Jamal.

why the fuck would you buy C2D shit?? fucking gross dude. at least buy the Sandybridge model (though you should really be getting the Ivybridge model since that's the only model that still has upgradeable RAM+dual hard drive slots, along with USB3)
Bought 4 GB of Corsair 1333 RAM
I now have 12 GB
>>58439287
>C2D shit
1. It's an office machine
2. The Core 2 Duo still handles everyday tasks pretty well
>Sandy bridge model
No, paying €675 for a non-upgradable mac used as an office machine is too much. I got mine for €430 in flawless condition with 8 GB of RAM + 12 months guarantee, which is fine by me. Better than buying some gimped ass shit from eBay
>USB 3
Don't need that
>Ivybridge 2012 model
They didn't have that one and it would've been more expensive
Microsoft has spyware as we all know. And apparently the members of Microsoft’s Online Safety Team spy on all communication that microsoft users have.
And apparently you fucks have some very depraved shit that gives them PTSD

What are the advantages of using a WM instead of a DE?
>>58438843
>using a WM instead of a DE
what
>>58438843
Desktop Environments strive to create an entire "experience". They of course include a WM on top of many other programs designed to work together to maintain a common "theme" across applications.
Using just a WM cuts out the "bloat" of all those things. It manages your windows but otherwise doesn't attempt to worry about any kind of theme across programs.
There's no reason you can't just install both a fully-fledged DE like GNOME or KDE and also a simple WM like openbox or i3 and try them out for yourself. Most login managers like GDM provide a menu to choose which DE/WM to start with when you login.
why use a kernel instead of an OS???
Linux on the desktop is a fucking joke.
Windows on the phone is a fucking joke.
Android on mobile devices and Windows on desktops and laptops is the only sane choice.
Can we all agree on that?
>>58438786
Nah

>I have a double digit IQ and com-poo-tahs are t3h hard for me
ok
Linux isn't always bad if you know what you're doing, but due to ease of access Windows can be the better option sometimes. Completely agree with Android though, fuck fagpple.
Also Maki is a terrible rabu raibu and you should be ashamed of yourself
what's his endgame?
One kernel to rule them all.
killing GNU

>time to put your chastity cage on goy!!!

Are there other cases of as blatant jewery in technology industry as with toner cartridges?
I saved 1760€ in one year on toren cartridges alone!

>>58438648
And if you are a bad goy, they autamatically tick a field that enables them to collect your info in order to put you on the "bad goy list"
furthermore, I keep getting fake errors such as "please insert cartridge/cartridge not installed" immediately after I successfully printed a document, or the printer will randomly disconnect from the LAN, or the printer will fake paper jams, where the paper is perfectly inside the printer as usual, or the printer will continuously ask if I am sure I want to continue printing with an empty cartridge.
truly pathetic.
How do we fix this problem?
>A new report has revealed that the digital skills of the nation’s students are at their lowest point in four years, with the average computer technology literacy of students in Years 6 and 10 both dropping compared to 2011’s results.
>"We observed with the increased use of the technology, it's more for social media and communications purposes," Randall said.

What is the best terminal/command-line email client?
I'm looking for something like the cli file manager, Ranger.
>>58438386
just hack your email host and browse your emails as files using ranger you retard.
>>58438475
Except it will open the emails as the original with all the header, dkim, and other meta data. Makes it a pain to sift through just to read a memo.

I tried mutt but it was just meh
Cli email maybe is not such a good idea, because some emails not plain text and have attachments

What phone does /g/ recommend for someone that likes photography and isn't expensive as fuck? Needs to be custom rom friendly.
>>58438193
What do you consider "expensive as fuck?"
>>58438193
I use One plus 3 and I really enjoy it. The phone is pretty cheap and has 16mp
Galaxy s6 has a really nice camera.
