Greetings /fit/. I decided on going back to working out but I'm a broke-ass college student so i don't have the time and money to go the gym. I would like to try out calisthenic work-outs and my friend recommended me this book called "convict condition". Is this any good?

i have the book, it's basic but it's a good start, the progression in the book is okay but the programs at the end are complete trash.

Pretty much this. Convict Conditioning is good to achieve a basic amount of strenght, but don't expect any significant improvements with that program, specially at the end.

Also fuck leg raises. The book emphasizes them like they are the second coming of Christ, but in my experience there are much better ab/core exercises.

There are no gym in your college? How about buying a pair of dumbbells?

Even a 20Kg set of dumbbells will be better than calisthenics.

Are eggs a meme? The medium sized eggs I buy are 66 fucking calories, so why isn't everyone on a cut shovelling down 10 eggs a day? High in protein and low in calories which fill you up. in what world is this not the perfect cutting food?

I knew I shouldn't trust you when you told me to get a starter one of 80lbs or something if I never owned a gripper before.

Just got my 150lbs in the mail and I can easily do 50+ reps (full reps, touching them together) from just regular lifting. Glad I ordered a set of 3 so a 200 and a 250 are also included. And yes I know you're supposed to squeeze and hold.
