Seeing ripped old men is the only reason I even think about wanting to live till MAYBE the 80s(at that point it's pretty much over 99% chance even on all sorts of drugs).

Wonder if it's possible at just a baby 600-700mg test dose though, then again with 50 years of hard blasted muscle memory it should be disproportionally easy to get a ripped physique with less compounds.

No matter what, I can't feel my glutes working during the squat.

I'm 100% sure it's because of how I position my legs,
I took a oly lifting class once and the way they made me squat I could feel my butt working.

Problem is that I can't figure out out to replicate it by myself, I just remember the instructor pushing my right foot and inch further apart
and making me tilt my hips slightly ("pushing my ass out more" more or less).

But no matter what I can only feel my quads working when I squat.

I only squat a little past parallel, and I usually don't feel much glute work while I squat. I usually feel them the next two days though. Also, yeah, push your ass out all the way. Show off that ass. Embrace the ass back feeling. Imagine touching the other side of the gym with your ass cheeks, really stretch them back bro. You might not feel an ass pump, but you should feel sore the next day.

If it's what you're into, she still has a pretty face, isn't obnoxious about it and it doesn't affect your gains; is having a gf /fit/ approved?

Was I in the wrong here? Like, universally if I see a bench or squat rack or almost anything with a towel on it I'll respect it and use another one. However, I already had my bar setup here, my weight, everything was all fine to go and she comes over and acts like a towel is a flag and she's claiming that clay as her own. Feel kinda bad, I had a bit of a gym bully dirtbag attitude with her. Thoughts?

Im starting SS in a couple of hours

If I could go back in time I would start with Phrak's GSLP, pic related.

I have done SS and SL and I prefer phrak's GSLP.

Why I like it:
- 2 upper body lifts every day, one lower
- for beginners who are not specialising and just want to get stronger/bigger, I think chin ups and rows are just as important as ohp and bench presses...

You will see that it calls for 3x5 with weight. IMO to start doing weighted chin ups you should be able to bust out 12 in one set. Not everybody can do that, not everybody can even do a chin up.

- if you can't do 12 chin ups, the best way to get better is to chin up as much as possible
- if you can't do one chin up, where the program says 3x5 weighted chins, spent 15-20 mins working up to one heavy rep on the lat pull down, then backing off... but keep it heavy, and the reps low. End of every workout... everyday if possible... do negatives, jumping chins etc.

If you are new to things, after each workout do lots of push ups, planks, and yeah, chin ups.

IMO... when you can do 60kg on bench start adding in higher reps (like 3-4x8-12) curls, tricep extensions, lat raises etc.

BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY...

SL, SS, GSLP are all good because you work the entire body each day with big compound exercises. That's the most important thing with a program.

After that, eat right, sleep, and give it 100% each time you go into the gym.

What does /fit/ use for implementing your routine? I feel like there has to be a better way than what I am doing, but here is mine in a nutshell:

Lifts: pocket size composition book. List day, lifts, weight, sets & reps

Progress: Periodically have a page in composition book for measurements, weight and BF% to track progress

Meals and macros: Use spreadsheet with work day / rest day goals. I don't keep a record, I just use it each day to calculate my macros and figure out what I should eat for meals.

Supplements: I include protein in my meal planning above. The rest is completely disorganized. I got daily pill organizers, but I usually forget to fill them up. I don't really have a good strategy at all, which is something else I need to work on.

Also on my to-do list is to grab an app to remind me to get off my ass occasionally (desk job) .

Looking at them now - thanks for the tip. I have had more success sticking with paper than apps, but these look like they are worth a shot.

Just look at /fa/. They have their own fashion diets. Just the same way we have diets for lifting.

I eat a certain way because I want to have and maintain a muscular body. People who love clothes generally eat for that body-type, very slim body.


I actually like clothes as well, but my love for lifting/muscles overides it. If I didn't lift and love being strong and muscular I'd probably eat 1200 calories a day and with very little protein. Instead I choose to look /fit/ and eat 3000 calories a day and tons of protein.
