Why is the /fit/ scene full of scams and endless suckers falling for them?
Let's go through a few of them:
The six pack scam.
Bodybuilders managed to sell suckers on the idea that you should walk around unnaturally lean so that everyone can see... Your belly. Who the fuck wants to eat some weird ass diet all the time and not be able to enjoy a few drinks and some eats in case it smooths you out and you lose your definition? Do the suckers even know that bodybuilders only get that lean for a few weeks every year when they are competing and most the time they are pretty damned fat? Do the suckers even know that 'roids make the diet and vascularity shit work?
The entire bodybuilding scene.
The original audience for bodybuilders in the 1960s was gay men. And guess what? It still is. Bodybuilding as you know it was created by a pair of Canadian Jews (Joe and Ben Weider) who ditched all the genuinely competitive elements from competition (feats of strength and gymnastics) in favour of their own personal opinion on how good the bodybuilder looked. Which had an awful lot to do with how many magazines they could sell with the picture of that bodybuilder on the cover.
Bodybuilding is all about steroids and HGH and a bunch of drugs. It ain't healthy and it ain't fitness. In fact it is the opposite, it is all about mental illness and bizarre and useless body shapes and sizes.
The supplement scam.
This one came from bodybuilding. They couldn't sell you more than one barbell set but they could sell you endless quack potions and powders every month with the promise that they would help you reach 'your potential' and get you looking like Mr Olympia (who doesn't take any of that shit because it doesn't work). They sell you powders that have the taste and texture of something scraped up off the Negev desert because suckers thing that if it tastes bad and goes down like a bellyful of sand it must be extra good shit!

Competing clean.
This is a real doozy. Everything is drug tested right? And everyone says they are clean... Because they are all full of shit and lying. Every sport is full of sneaky bastards on drugs. Baseball? You know it. Football? Oh yes. Athletics? You really think the Russians are the only ones at it?
You even have weird myths that have sprung up because of it. You know the ones. That black people have genetic advantage for sprinting and for long distance running. Sure wouldn't have anything to do with them taking drugs would it? Yes it fucking would, and yes they have been caught at it. Kenyans and long distance running? Busted. Sprinters? Like Ben Johnson was the only one...
The /fit/ness clothing scam.
You need those special running shoes to run faster and further don't you? Do you fuck. It is a scam. They don't make you fitter. They just make your wallet emptier. Same with the gym clothing. Just a rip-off.
/fit/ is bullshit. It is just scam piled upon scam.
You ever been in a gym and seen those Nautilus machines? Scam. Nautilus and the entire HIT thing is a scam. It doesn't work. Mike Mentzer didn't build his body on HIT, he built it on steroids and barbells.
