>have to deload to 65 lbs
Because multiple muscles and joints are at work
If you do isolated lifts you risk getting an unbalanced body / weak joints

You should be doing both compounds and isolations retard

How were you doing them wrong?

To put it simply, they train you better for typical human things: pick shit up, push shit up, pull shit to you. Isolation is very specific and doesn't help as much overall for progress.

FUNCTIONAL STRENGTH

With compound exercises, you kill many birds with one stone
With isolation exercises, you get really good at killing one particular bird with one particular stone
Compounds are the most important part of developing, a strong, functional, stable, healthy body. However isolation exercises are very important for lagging body parts, muscle imbalances, and certain small muscles that don't get hit too well with normal work. Isolations are also improtant for safety (rotator cuff and rear delt isolation is important for lifting heavy weights on the bench press or OHP for example). A good training regime will have you progressively overloading compounds as the primary driver of mass and strength, with isolations there as supplementary work for safety, aesthetics, and to hit weak points

you can't post something reasonable like that here
get out
compounds only, never isolate, 11 inch arms are the new chad aesthetic
