>sand a shit
>use a thermostat
>read all the caresheets
>set up your tank before you get your herp
>regulate temps & humidity levels prior to herp arrival
>do not fuck with (handle) your herp for at least 7 days after bringing it home and ideally wait until herp has eaten at least one meal (for snakes), two meals for lizards, frogs, etc.
>PVC tanks are way better for most applications and worth the extra money
>it is best to avoid chain pet stores when looking to purchase live animals as mass breeder suppliers are not especially careful about health and sound genetics... it often saves you money long term to spend a little extra up front to get a healthy animal

Got some funny webm's gif's and pics
so i recently got a new pupper and she's really great but she's too interested in my pet rats. she's lept and snapped at them a few times and stares at their cage. i love her to death but they were here first and i want them to at least ignore each other.
i tried to correct this behavior by spraying her with a water bottle, and while it's done great in keeping her away from them, her reaction is like, pure terror and she starts shaking. she also still seems to watch them although she doesn't approach them anymore.
are there any better methods of correcting this or am i just going to have to go the tough love route?
Attacking small animals is a dog instinct. To change that instinct you'll have to familiarize your dog to the rats very slowly over many weeks. You don't want to make your dog fear the rats due to negative reinforcement. Gradually bring your rats out of their cage while holding them in your hand and talk calmly to your dog to let her know she won't get punished if she approaches them. Let your dog learn that you care about the rats and her, and that they aren't her enemies. As the days go on gradually bring the rats closer to her while keeping a hand on her to make sure she doesn't lunge. Your dog will eventually learn.

that seems pretty doable, she just makes me nervous because i don't have any place high up to put the cage and she's lunged at it before. introducing them will be a process but i don't want her to accidentally kill them before that.
i just hate spraying her, i feel like a monster when i do it but she won't respond to any distractions. not loud noises, not treats or toys, or her name.

It's obviously a fucking beetle dude.
Why do you care and why do you not use google for simple identification like this?
Hello /an/, cats recently came under my care. I moved to the countryside, there is a barn and a cat hanging out in there, who was fed by the kids of the previous tenants. I proceeded to feed it, it was a female. Cue litter of four, two died, probably shouldn't have touched them, as mother was not in the vincinity afterwards. She just left, I hope she's alright.
Now I have a troubled past with cats, when I was a shitty teen, I was still in the madness my mother (a downright crazy person) had wrought in the house. She is a hateful person, and when I was little, on holidays with her, she used to chase cats because they hunted birds.
So, as a teen, my friends and I had the grand idea to catch and torture a cat, I even thought it was some kind of proper revenge for birds... I will spare you the details, it's arab-kids-level.
This is the worst thing I have done in my life and I still feel guilty more than 20 years later -yes I'm an oldfag-
So now I have two little cats, pic related, roaming around and I'm worried something bad happens to them, like some twist of karma putting them on the way of deranged kids -though most are not as deranged as I was-, but that's just my paranoia.
I bottlefed them and now they follow me when I'm outside, answer my calls, they're very easy to catch (makes me uneasy, see above), they purr instantly when petted etc, human-bred cats it seems
I've wondered about neutering them but I find it repulsive, even if I have to deal with calls of cats in heat (both are female). I've done enough bad things to animals not to have them undergo surgery just so they are easier to live with.
Now my question: what the fuck is wrong with PETA? Everywhere I look on the internet, I see this fucking propaganda, “OMG NO DONT LET CATS FREE ROAM DONT LET THEM BREED :(((“
Okay they may get run over, caught by a fucking piece of shit like I was, they may fight with other animals, get hurt even die, but that's just nature mostly (except psychopathic humans), I'd rather see natural cats roaming as they wish. About their crazy reproduction rate, I plan on shutting them in when they're in heat, and sleep with earplugs!
But what's the deal with those PETA fags? I swear this reeks of social engineering, nothing of what they say makes sense from the animal point of view, it's only acceptable from the lazyfag owner's one.
Enlighten me /an/ and feel free to insult me
Nowadays tho I tear up if I imagine bad things happening to those little guys, and I'm 95% vegetarian.
Toxoplasmosis is a real thing!
I'm too lazy to read all of that but I must say that those are some 10/10 cute kitties.
My cat has been vomiting every day for a week. I don't have money or transportation to get to the vet. What can I do?

So I went to a stone shack in the back of my garden and I noticed this hanging from the ceiling. There have always been alot of spiders in the shack but i've never seen anything like this. Does anyone know what animal does this? Picture has been taken in the Southern part of the Netherlands btw.
This one only has it's joints covered.
There are alot of them.
Hey guys I'm starting a Tank maintenance & set-up + animal services side business (I already work in the exotic and aquatic pet trade)
what do you think I'd need, what would be most demanded?
Insurance
I'd say read up on aquascaping, shrimpkeeping and nano tanks, as well as biotope aquaria.
That's what's trending here in europe at least.
What kind of spider is this? It is in the SW USA and was about 2-2.5 cm long.
It had a HUGE web and it stayed in the center and tugged systematically in a circle. When a fly hit its web, it tugs in the direction of the vibration to stimulate more twitching and then webs it up and brings it to the center of the web to consume it.
