1. No allergies
2. Almost no cleaning/month
3. Low costs
4. A multitude of colours, sizes, venom, non-venom, cuddly, fierce etc.
5. Terrariums make a LOVELY addition to your home, helps with both high and low humidity depending on which kind of snake you get.

Feed live or frozen rats
>>2260800
Where I live it is not legal to feed with live mice, I currently own a corn snake and a hissing sand snake (psammophis sibilans) neither eat rats because they are too big.
TLDR: Frozen/thawed mice.
What does/an/ think about Planet Earth II? Seems pretty good so far.
That Iguana/Snake bit is some of the best nature footage I've ever seen. Especially that one rolling shot where the followed the iguana around the corner with the snakes chasing him. amazing.
When/where is it airing?

The first episode just aired in Britain last night. American release is on January 28th.

/herp/ reptile classifieds for finding breeders of various scaled and sundry creatures
>kingsnake.com
>faunaclassifieds.com
>reptilescanada.com (Canadian breeders)
>Also check to see if there are any annual reptile shows/expos in your area as these are good places to find good animals from good breeders at partial discount
/herp/ officially official all purpose care sheet of wonder and magic
>sand a shit
>use a thermostat
>read all the caresheets
>set up your tank before you get your herp
>regulate temps & humidity levels prior to herp arrival
>do not fuck with (handle) your herp for at least 7 days after bringing it home and ideally wait until herp has eaten at least one meal (for snakes), two meals for lizards, frogs, etc.
>PVC tanks are way better for most applications and worth the extra money
>it is best to avoid chain pet stores when looking to purchase live animals as mass breeder suppliers are not especially careful about health and sound genetics... it often saves you money long term to spend a little extra up front to get a healthy animal

Perfect for betta. Link me.
Just got a kitten about a week ago and I wanted to wait a little and let her get acclimated before taking her to the vet. One of her littermates, who has had his first shot, is coming over tomorrow and I was wondering if it was safe to let them play together even though she hasn't had her first shot. Or should I take her in the morning before they play?
I wouldn't socialize any kitten that hasn't had shots..
>>2263867
I figured as much. So would it be okay for me to get the shots before they come over? Or will Cheese need some time for the vaccine to take effect? First time kitten owner here.
>>2263869
that's a good question to ask the vet!
since they've only been separated a week, it's really unlikely they'd have anything. I'd probably risk it if I knew the household the kitten was coming from and there were no outdoor kitties.
Can a woodpecker peck through a human cranium?
Yeah
It would be extremely painful.

You're a big guy.
You know how every once in a while you come across something on the internet that's just too fucking weird? Well I was watching some animal videos and eventually came to monkeys, then I saw this playlist on the sidebar and HOLY FUCK. It's nothing but videos of monkeys getting hurt or dying, etc. and the comments are all the same.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bRrNC_JpluU&list=PLk-vSn33cLO2XEK-lWOlcM9NV8HzR0GdY
Some of the comments.
>I would pay good money to see video of the moment a monkey gets it's hand caught in a snare.
>I would take every one of those monkeys while their hands are tied Behind their backs & slowly slide a long strand of sharp rusty barbed wire all the way in their dick holes until I feel it puncture thru their bladder & then slowly pull it out, & repeat process!
>I would PAY TO COME THERE and help them do this! What fun! Dumb ass little monkeys. Hee hee hee.
>Dang! I almost feel cheated because I was really waiting to see them tear the little bastards head right off! To bad, better luck next time I guess...
There is a whole community that enjoys watching monkeys specifically be abused and or killed. It just weirded me out too much, these people sound like wannabe serial killers.
Well even niggers and spics need someone to be racist against I suppose...

crush porn is a thing anon
You sure they are serious and not just being edgy/joking? I specifically remember a notorious YouTube user who used to comment shit like this everywhere about monkeys. He later came out and admitted he was joking but that he really isn't too fond of monkeys.
I want to have a lizard/ reptile pet
How should i start? Im really clueless, i want something to take care of and stare to, because i think lizards are very cute
Pic unrelated, i do not partake in any KKK activities
Also, if anyone has images of cute, small lizards, i would appreciate if you dropped some
>>2263482
>>2263482
your first lizard ever?
Go with something easy and sturdy - look into Leopard Geckos. They're cute, easy to take care of, and will live a long time.
pic related - one of mine

they'll grow to be around 8-11 inches long head-tail. If you're looking for something smaller, look into anoles

Hi, guys, I'm new here. I lost my poor dog the other night, he was vomiting white and had diarrhea and he was getting weaker and weaker and more dehydrated until the little guy passed on. I loved him very much. Now I'm starting to see the same symptoms in his little sister, please help me save her, what medicines do I give her? She's a tiny dog and she is starting to vomit white.

Stop using Rat Poison in your cooking.
>>2263401
Sounds like they got parvo. Were they vaccinated?
I've actually never gotten the opportunity to pet a dog or cat before. What do they feel like?
Growing up all my friends and family only had hamsters, snakes, lizards, and even a capybara. Never any dogs though.
One guy did have a cat once but it kept running from everyone.
I usually avoid telling people this because normalfags get angry and offended if you haven't experienced the same things as them.
wow, what country do you live in? that's weird.
it's like a giant hamster that trusts you and seeks out your company, I guess. they just feel furry. different animals feel different ofc- some are greasy, some have long hair, some have short. try closing your eyes and petting your own head and that's kind of what it feels like.

Hi /an/, dog owner here.
I have a dog who suffers from chronic ear infections (floppy eared labrador in a wet climate). In one ear she usually develops a bacterial infection, and in the other a yeast infection. Over the years my vet has prescribed me Zymox to treat the bacterial, and Surolan to the yeast infection. Over the summer she got an infection, and I decided to pay out for the Zymox *advanced formula* which knocked her itching and pain out way faster than the regular formula (pictured). The problem is, that shit's 30$ for 1.25 fl oz and I can go through a bottle every couple weeks. Does anyone know any other, possibly offbrand medications that could be as effective? Or a site that sells these medications in bulk for less? I know I'm going to be treating her off and on all fall/winter/spring again, so I want to stay on top of it.
it's cheaper on Amazon.
if you need to keep using this kind of medication, you should probably try and figure out a different way to treat the issue. it's an enzymatic cleaner, so there's no exact generic. I couldn't even find one, actually.
I'd try using both, use the zymox plus regularly as well as the cheaper regular...
once you get the infection cleared up you can make a rinse out of rubbing alcohol and use that to clean and dry her ears out after she's out getting wet
>>2263188
rubbing alcohol is really rough on ears and can cause permanent damage. seriously, don't use rubbing alcohol on yourself or an animal.
for cleaning ears, I use a mix of boric acid, witch hazel, and iodine.
So this stray cat came into my backyard and has been pretty friendly and shit, I gave him a little bit of food, milk and a bed.
And I got some questions,
What does he have on his ears?
Can he get along with a puppy?
Does he need special milk?
If he stays here, im gonna take him to the vet tomorrow.
I've never had a cat, please help.
>>2263066
>What does he have on his ears?
hard to tell, wash them off and then take more pics?
>Can he get along with a puppy?
depends on the cat
>Does he need special milk?
if it's an adult, it doesn't need milk at all. cats can't digest lactose, so cow's milk will give it diarrhea. cats can have goats milk and special milk made for cats.
>>2263077
>wash them off
But don't they hate water?
It looks very young.
Also, whats the deal with toxoplasmosis?
Should I be worried?
Don't give him milk, cats can't digest it properly after kittenhood and this little guy won't need it if he's eating solid food. You won't have done him any harm, but it could give him the shits, so just stick to plain water in the future and that will be fine.
His ears look a bit crusty, but it shouldn't be a huge drama to fix - stray cats often have slightly gungy ears or ear mites, and it's usually easy to treat with some drops or cream. His coat looks quite healthy, so he'll likely be fine once he's been dewormed and defleaed. As for dogs, cats often don't really care for them, but they can generally learn to at least tolerate each other and share a home. If you have a puppy, that's quite good as cats will often establish their boundaries early on when the dog is still young, just make sure they're not alone together for the first few weeks and don't force contact if the cat wants to avoid the dog by sitting on top of furniture or whatever.
Since pet DNA tests are too expensive for me right now, I'm trying to figure out what my dog's possible breed is. I know she's a mutt, but other than that, the shelter couldn't tell me much else.
Anyone wanna take a guess with me? Right now I'm thinking she might have some Kai Ken, or maybe Norwegian Buhund. I'll post more pics of her so you can help me figure it out.
Better pic of her head and ear shape
>right now I think she might have some rare breed or another rare breed
well that's a stupid thing to think
