My Norwegian Elkhound had a seizure. Wat do?

This is the second one in almost 10 months. Should I be worried?
10 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
Probably not. But if it makes you feel better, talk to your vet. Your dog probably just got into something they shouldn't have. If your dog is on seizure meds and it doesn't have seizures often then it could do more damage than help your dog.

That's my experience at least.
>>
Did you take it to the vet the first time? Might need medication to control it and/or an exam to see what the underlying problem is.

We have taken him to the vet both times and they haven't really done anything. This time they are finally running x-rays.

It's scary when it happens and he looks like he's in pain.

I hate when people legit try to kill snakes, frogs, and spiders because "They're icky!". I've saved many of these creatures from being tortured or killed because of some assholes. I know that allot of snakes, spiders and frogs are venomous/ poisonous but that's no excuse for killing everyone you see when they're minding their own business.

The only time I would find it reasonable is when they're in your house, but even so there is a way of dealing of them without the animal ending up dead, especially with spiders.

(I don't know what picture would be appropriate here but I thought this one was cute)

Looks like a poorly drawn camel skull. Or a skull relating to the camel/alpaca family. They have some wicked sharp teeth.

I went to a pet expo today and held my first snake. The snake coiled around me and squeezed so tightly, I was hooked instantly.

What are good a species of snakes for pets? I want one that's usually active and playful.

On another note, does anyone know what kind of snake this is in the picture?

I don't really care about how hard it is to manage I just want a cool snake that loves me lol, I don't mind if I'm bitten either. I don't have a lot of experience with handling reptiles but I feel like they vibe with me, I'd show no fear in picking up a cobra.

Any clue what the hell is this? This is just right my monitor screen so I'm always looking that way, it wasn't there yesterday when I went to bed. I woke up this morning and that was the first thing I saw just as I was turning on the screen.

It could only be a bug, but at the same time It couldn't... It looked flat and its so asymmetrical. The only explanation I came across it was some squased dying bug that managed to climb there before dying while I was sleeping.

Anyone knows what this is? I already took it away with the vacuum cleaner this morning, bugs creep me out.

Seems the message I wrote was really long to send it on a single post. But I really need help with this so I will divide it in two. Also, I will add pics on separate replies since I have them on the phone.

Part 1

Does this has anything to do with Carpet Beetle Larvae? Never saw any of these bugs in my life until 2 weeks ago I was cleaning a shelf and I had some figure and video game limited boxes made of cardboard. I opened some of them to check the contents, and when I opened the Killer is Dead one there was this kind of little worm, I took everything out and there were like 4 or 5 of them here and there. I did a google search and ended up finding these Carpet Beetle Larvae.

I freaked out and since that day I have been cleaning every corner of my room. I had some magazines, books and paper on the ground and when I collect everything some of them had these beetle larvae (if that's what they are).

Then I proceded to clean my wardrobe, on the top door there's video game console boxes, the NES one had some of these, only the shell, nothing on PS4, Wii U or Wii boxes. Then inside I have also a shelf for figure boxes, among all of them one had these inside, shells again, just below I store dozens of books, comic and manga, only one manga had them on its pages on the top, below I had videogames and some boxes and manga too, but I don't remember finding anything here, and at the bottom I had more than 100 videogame magazines stored since around 10-11 years ago, I took all of them out and checked one by one and just found like 2 or 3 of them, I will store them on plastic boxes from now on btw. What creeped me out most was when I took some videogame boxes stored beside the magazines and below there was a panting brush, but the brushes were turned to dust... I collected everything on a box, I know there was a bug there, I saw it but I didn't even want to keep looking and discarded everything.
>>
Part 2

To my surprise, yesterday when I moved to clean the shelf, where I have lots of books and manga, I didn't find any on these. I was so affraid of doing the shelf because I though there would be the place where I would find most of them, I'm so happy I didn't because I would feel bad for them. I removed the cover of every manga to check it throughly.

On a couple of shelves I have only videogames, I checked them and opened only the few boxes from 360 and PS3 that have an opening. To my surprise, Ninety Nine Nights had one or two of these, I was really shocked, not because it was the only one from around 40 boxes with this opening, but how would they go inside of it instead of going to the comic books paper which is totally exposed and a lot easier? Also 3DS FFIII which has the same kind of opening had some of these.

Hey fellow dog owners, what is your philosophy on dog ownership? Where do you draw the line when it comes to natural behavior?
Do you understand your animal?
Do you allow face licking, rough play, and other dog-like acts?
What is your relationship with your animal? Is he/she bound by and implied contract they are not aware of? Are they a friend? A roomate? Family?
Where do you think the species will be in 5000 years (assuming humans maintain the planet for that long)? What are the long term implications of domestication, and what is the human responsibility?
General dog philosophy.

I'm rather lenient with my dog. If I force him to live with me, he should at least have fun doing dog things.
>>
>>2256367
My dog isn't perfect, and I could train him better, but he doesn't do anything that would make anyone say he's poorly behaved.

Things like face licking, jumping, roughhousing, he all does with me. With strangers, he knows it isn't okay unless they/I say so.

I'd like our relationship to be more like buddies, but I ended up in a more parent-child relationship as I had to nurse him back to health during his puppyhood due to a shitty foster/rescue situation that got him real sick.

I'm the boss/parent/master, but that doesn't mean I don't love him and love making him happy. So I do things to make him happy. He does things to make me happy.

As for where I think the species will be in 5000 years assuming human survival? More shitty pugs and fat, useless companion dogs. The working dog and his environment are quickly becoming obsolete.

I love my dog to death, but its always been a struggle understanding his needs. As far as face licking I don't think we are at that stage yet so its not a problem for me. He has his own room and I pretty much sleep on the couch because I think he is still a puppy and as of yet has not outgrown that face bite/claw instinct but we are working on it. I'm also curious what his breed was, because I don't know much about dogs and found him as a stray and nursed him back to health after being struck by a cyclist on a nature path. Pic related its my dog having my dinner.
As for what the species will look like in 5k years I don't even want to think about it.

Hey. I'm looking for some advice.

My gf and I just took in a 2-week old kitten that some friends found in their heating vent.

We've been doing all the right things for it so far (according to the vet that we just took it to), but the vet gave us some bad news.

It has fleas.

We have another cat in our apartment (which we aren't technically supposed to have, under threat of a $1000 fine from our apartment complex) and we're worried that this cat will also get fleas if we keep the kitten. We have a tiny apartment and it would be impossible to keep them separated once the kitten is mobile.

We won't be able to give the kitten a proper flea treatment for 6 weeks. The vet told us that we can bathe the kitten with Dawn soap in the meantime, but this doesn't seem like a solution.

My question is: what should we do? Should we stick it out and keep the kitten? Should we try to find a shelter that can take it, look for a friend that would be willing to put up with all of this, or should we try and find the mother and let the kitten return?

tl;dr we have a 2-week old kitten with fleas that is unable to get treatment and another cat in our apartment that we don't want infected

"A "yes" vote supports this proposal to prohibit the sale of eggs, veal, or pork of a farm animal confined in spaces that prevent the animal from lying down, standing up, extending its limbs, or turning around."
