So my huge, aggressive hell-beast got in a fight with a smaller but no less ready-to-rumble neighbor dog two hours ago, receiving only shallow punctures and abrasions to her chest and legs that I cleaned and smeared neosporin on. However, in the last 20 minutes she started shuddering bodily on the inhale and didn't want to get up to go outside when I called (she usually does). I've read in my frantic googling that dogs can shudder as a reaction to pain (I only had rubbing alcohol on hand, and the wounds had mud and straw rubbed into them before cleaning so I had to use it. Can't have helped pain-wise), so it's possible that she's just hurting and tired out from having a backyard cage-match, but I'm terrified that something could be seriously wrong.

I'm most afraid of internal bleeding, because her extremities feel a little cold and the shuddering/lethargy didn't start until over an hour and a half after the fight, although I can't figure how such a relatively minor fight could have resulted in internal trauma, and that it's a little on the cold side at my place. I've turned the heater up and swaddled her in blankets, which seems to have helped slightly. My families old dog died recently and I was the one who discovered him stiff on the couch and felt how cold his body was when I tried to shake him awake, so this could just be inciting what I think is general anxiety to new and absurd heights.

Is there cause for concern? because if there is I am out the fucking door and blowing my entire savings account on emergency vet fees, I love this dog more than large swathes of my extended family and I can't lose her now. My living situation fucking blows and she's basically one of the few positive things I have in my life even with all the trouble she causes.

Pic related, please help. The nearest vets is nearly 40 minutes away at unsafe speeds, so I need to know whether I'm being insane.

Hi,
Please, just go to the vet, it sounds like your dog is in shock, this can kill, please go now, and good luck x
>>
I would go to the vet just to be safe, anon. It could be nothing serious but it could be life-threatening, it's hard to tell.

Put it this way, if you rush to the vet and find out it's nothing, you might feel silly/stupid for freaking out and wasting money when she was fine... But if you don't go to the vet and you find out too late that it was something serious and she dies, you'll never forgive yourself. So just go, just to be safe.

I hope your dog will be ok. Please keep us updated.

crows show no evidence of self awareness, they react to their mirror image as if they were other crows
>>
Magpies can die. Them and the other idiot corvids chased all the songbirds away from here.

A good cage cleaning and some Provent a mite and reptile relief (followed by a good soak session) worked pretty well for me. If your other snake is in close proximity to your first one then theres a very good chance it's infected too. Trash ANY wood decor in the tank, swap out the bedding for newspaper or paper towel, give the tank a good once over with the PAM in a well ventilated room (remove the water dish and keep your snakes the fuck out of said room, the fumes are toxic. Use the time it takes to dry to spray and soak them). They should stay on the paper bedding for the next few months, just be sure to periodically check on them, specifically around the eyes and labial pits, and mites seem to prefer those areas a lot. You'll get the best results searching for them at night since they're pretty phobic of lights. Good luck my dude, you're in for a shit show.

Maybe. The 'dog alarm clock' depends on the dog. They aren't really trained to do it, they just know it's breakfast time so they bug you to wake up. The best thing you can do is feed your dog at exactly the same time every day.

But it just depends on the dog. My puppy is worthless in the alarm clock area. She's just as content to sleep in as I am. Doubly so if it's a chilly morning.
>>

>they just know it's breakfast time so they bug you to wake up

my dog knows it's bathroom time so he wakes us up around 7:30

unless we entice him to eat with treats/mix-ins, he won't eat his breakfast until around 3pm. he eats his dinner on time no problem though.

I know he's doing this because he probably prefers one meal a day, but he's at a higher risk of bloat (deep chest, breed prone to bloat, rigorous exerciser), so he needs to eat two spaced-out meals a day. he also vomits if he exercises on an empty stomach.

how do I get this faggot to eat his breakfast on time? if it were just a matter of him not being hungry I'd just feed him more at dinner and eliminate breakfast, but there's much less of a risk of bloat if he eats two meals.

Hello guys, I am new here and don't know if this is the place to ask, but I feel like it is. Can you please tell me if it is normal for a puppy to have darker poops. My dog is a Dogo Argentino 3 months old. I have been feeding him high quality puppy food and was wondering if the food can color the poops this way. Another not is that he does not seem to show any signs of being in pain or anything even if I lightly push on his stomach. I am considering to take him to the vet, but I have had frequent visits (at least once a month) for vaccines and they have always said that is growing up just right.
P.S. The food I have been buying for it is "Naturea Puppy"and "Naturea Growth"

Sup /an/

So I'm thinking of getting a banana slug for a pet, and I wanted to know if there's anything I should know about keeping an animal like this when it's a cold season. Do I need a heatlamp or anything? Is it wise to get one now or should I just wait for spring?

There's a science company in California that sellls them for laboratory use that will ship them overnight to NY where I live

I've kept a pet slug before, but it was a native leopard slug.

Best method/products to get rid of fleas?

My brother's dog got fleas from a puppy we took care of for a few days and now he's infested. He never had fleas before.

My brother has given him showers and applied some kind of powder, and my mom has taken off flea by flea with vaseline, but they just won't leave the dog alone.

Anything you guys would recommend?

Ivermectin treatments, revolution, Advantix, permerthin.

All that shit you're doing only kills the adults, you'll need the more advanced medicines to do both.
>>
I use a combo of Capstar and Program.

Getting rid of fleas the cheap way requires cleaning, vacuuming, and using a flea comb daily, and it doesn't work well if you have an infestation already or you live in an area with a lot of fleas..
>>
Can anyone give me advice on how to get rid of these fuckers?
At this point all the money and treatment has prevented my pet from getting fleas but they seem to live in the carpet now and jump on humans. None of my friends want to come over anymore and I'm going mad. Im about ready to just bomb the whole place
