If it looks infected, it really needs to go to the vet. They will probably need to give you antibiotics and might need to drain puss and sew it back up. Paw lacerations are difficult because the dog has to walk, and is going to be walking in dirt, shit, piss, dust, all sorts of things you don't want in a cut. You'll have to be on top of cleaning it, probably a few times a day, to make sure it doesn't get infected again. Any injury involving the paws really suck.

I live in Oregon and had to go well out of my way to find these a couple months ago. They're sort of rare here. Really cool birds. Shame they're not so beloved elsewhere.
