I've actually never gotten the opportunity to pet a dog or cat before. What do they feel like?
Growing up all my friends and family only had hamsters, snakes, lizards, and even a capybara. Never any dogs though.
One guy did have a cat once but it kept running from everyone.
I usually avoid telling people this because normalfags get angry and offended if you haven't experienced the same things as them.
wow, what country do you live in? that's weird.
it's like a giant hamster that trusts you and seeks out your company, I guess. they just feel furry. different animals feel different ofc- some are greasy, some have long hair, some have short. try closing your eyes and petting your own head and that's kind of what it feels like.

that's pretty crazy tbqh. ~40% of households in the us own a dog, and ~30% own a cat. I don't blame people for being skeptical that you've never run across either.
Petting a dog is great, they're like big friendly farm animals. Sometimes they are fluffy, some are coarse, but they feel warm and pleasant.
Petting a cat is awful, they're just gross squishy hairbags full of bones. It feels like touching a big aloof caterpillar.

my kitten has softer fur than any pupper, and she loves it when I knead her like a loaf of bread.
I love puppers too but I feel like in general they are greasier than cats.

It varies between breeds/individuals. Some are soft, some are course, some are fluffy, both feel warm and pleasant.
