I don't have a cat
i dont have a dog
i haven't had any of said animals in my apartment
I've bombed it 4 times now, moving everything, spraying down every inch, every corner, every nook and cranny
and yet here i am still getting eaten alive by fleas
how the fuck do you get rid of these shitheads?
vacuum
a lot
You sure it's fleas and not bedbugs?
These night light / glue traps help a lot.
Do you live where there's chiggers?
where can I get a brown recluse spider delivered to me
Brown Recluse Depot.
Check your order though, last time I bought a 50 pack, I ended up with a few Cellar Spiders and spent 2 weeks bickering with customer service for a refund.
Some of the tarantula websites have them sometimes.
They're kind of boring and aren't dangerous though.
>>2257320
I cant find the brown recluse depot website. can you give me the web address.
Thanks

I was wondering if I can find some non-fish tankmates for my betta, ones that won't necessarily need a filter to survive. I heard triops are good.
your betta needs a filter.
>>2256509
What kind of setup is the betta in? Size, filter, plants, heater?
>>2256509
Triops probably since those fuckers have been around since the dawn of time. Also probably ghost shrimp too.
I want a dog but I don't think I'd have the patience to raise it properly (house breaking, crate training, obedience training sorry I just don't have it in me). But at the same time I don't want to miss out on the puppy years of true bonding either and just end up adopting some adult dog that will always be aloof.
So having said that, in a strict pluses and minuses analysis of the above points, what is the better option for me?
>some adult dog that will always be aloof
that's not 100% true. adult dogs can bond to new owners.
you're not going to want an ill-behaved, non-house-trained dog no matter how closely you bond.
you could try finding a 1-year old dog that's been mostly trained. you'd miss out on most of the bad puppy times and still have a lot of time to bond.
>>2256224
>But at the same time I don't want to miss out on the puppy years of true bonding either and just end up adopting some adult dog that will always be aloof.
LOL don't get a dog
If you just want companionship without having to train find an abused dog and let it warm up to you

>The diving bell spider (Argyroneta aquatica) is one of the few species of spider known to live almost entirely under water. As with other spiders it breathes air; when submerged an air bubble is trapped by a dense layer of hydrophobic hairs on its abdomen and legs. A. aquatica is able to remain submerged for prolonged periods of time due to the silk-based structure it constructs in order to retain an oxygen supply, named after the diving bell structure it resembles.

Discuss anything aquarium related here, including inhabitants, decor and issues.
Google is your friend.
Feel free to ask questions but know that there are a lot of resources out there that could answer your question a lot faster and accurately than /an/.
Make sure to include these things in your post before asking because we can't help you if we don't have the full picture:
-tank size
-parameters
-any and all inhabitants + how long you've had them

Raccoons are smart and will abuse that fact.
They are hellraiser pets.

You lucky bastard.
ITT: /an/ creates a prehistoric documentary series.
How many episodes would your series be?
Which location and time period would you visit each episode?
Which creatures would be featured on each episode?
What animal and their life story would be told each episode?
Pics, ideas, etc are all welcome.
>>2252388
I want a scene that shows the monkeys rafting and ending up in South America, like they did.
The Great American Interchange would be another nice story to tell. You would have the South American animals slowly succumb to (some of the) North American ones.
>>2252388
Pleistocene Australia would be really comfy as well.
>>2252434
I agree that the Great American Interchange would be interesting.
It would be a story of survival of the fittest to the extreme.
Watching a scene of animals migrating en-masse between the Panama would be awe inspiring.
Giant Sloths lumbering past confused sabretooths would be surreal.
The genocide of south american animals by sabretooths would be brutal also.
>>2252439
Pleistocene Australia would be fascinating as it had giant wombats, carnivorous kangaroos, etc. The marsupials are unique therefore a breath of fresh air from typical placenta megafauna up north.
I was watching that dumb Rats documentary and it made me think. What do people who exterminate rats and other pests want? Control populations or to exterminate all pests in the area? Aren't rats and other similar animals important to the environment?
>>2251952
>Aren't rats...important to the environment?
No, not really, assuming you live in a somewhat urban area. The best they can do is eat some cockroaches. There are few to no predators in cities.
Similar animals like shrews and field mice are important, but those aren't in cities either.
This is almost like asking if bedbugs are important to the environment. They depend on human settlements.
There are so many different species called rats. Some of them are very important. Some aren't.
>>2251952
Common brown rats are vermin and disease carriers. They serve absolutely no purpose, and are extremely destructive.

What's the real effect of catnip on cats?
>>2258147
lmao this guy
Anyway, OP here, not a regular /an/ poster obviously. Sorry for causing an uproar on your fair board by not using the 'cat'alog, just wanted to say I have my cat a catnip mouse and she puked about an hour later and she didn't eat more than normal, and I didn't give her any treats or anything. Fuck catnip.

And now she's been hiding for the rest of the day.
