I've actually met people who have seen the movies but never played any of the games.

Ugh, can you even imagine being that retarded?

The sega version, not the other one.

But the Capcom game was cool and had actually good gameplay and level design.

OP, KH isn't retro anyway.

I didn't see a repair general, so I'll just make a thread for this.

I replaced the battery in my Pokemon Blue, but it didn't save. After opening it up I noticed the tab isn't stuck onto the battery. How can I fix this? Pic related isn't mine.

I could never beat the underwater level where you have to pilot the bubble submarine to the end without running out of air or smashing into the walls. It haunts me to this day.

I got this game a few years ago and played it casually for a month until one day I beaten it. Shortly after I beat the game once again but this time only dying once. 3 years later and I have beaten this game a dozen times. Why did people find this game so difficult? A game like Kid Icarus is a much more difficult game.

You don't die in one hit in Kid Icarus, you also get unlimited continues, and the game actually gets easier as you progress.

I went to my favorite local value world today with my gf hoping to pick out a birthday gift for her to buy for me. What should I see upon walking in other than an Atari 800xl in box? Sitting next to the entrance, in a general pile, were three boxes; one containing the main console, one containing the disk drive, and a third containing the printer and a loose assortment of wires, joypads, and what looked to be over 50 game cartridges, a folder full of floppy disks, and a huge stack of programming books and programming magazines. I immediately began salivating.

Unfortunately, they were asking 250 for the lot and I have a general rule not to spend more than 100 dollars at Value World. So I didn't buy it. Instead I bought the boxed, mint Turbo Grafx 16 sitting behind the counter for 20 bucks. When I mentioned the Atari to the lady at the counter she mentioned she thought it was way too pricey and the managers were talking about discounting it if it didn't sell. So I left.

I don't know much about 8-bit computers/Atari but the more and more I think about it the more I'm feeling I passed up a fucking goldmine. I wanna try to haggle with the managers a bit, but I'm afraid of some other neckbeard coming through and snatching it while I'm deliberating. What should I do?

Here's some pics of the collection.

Hello, /vr/. Can you recommend me RPGs that don't use the typical Medieval Fantasy/Sci-Fi setting? Something like Secret of Evermore (worlds with different themes), the Mother series (cartoonish setting in the modern times) and Rent A Hero (modern times again, super hero theme) on Mega Drive?

I'm gonna count Crystalis, which takes place in more of a recovered post-apocalyptic world, and the final area is an out-right space fortress in the sky.
>>
>>3822609
Try something like:
Shin Megami Tensei 1 or 2 (SNES)
Persona 1 or 2 (PS1, but the PSP port has a better translation/content)

Others games of the series are good too depending of your tastes, but not /vr/.

We always get threads of recent finds, but I'd like to see the rarest item in your collection. Not necessarily the thing that's worth the most money, but the thing you think no one else in the world has.

I'll start. This is a box of 4 other boxes. Each box contains 6 NES games in their original packaging. This is how the games were shipped from the factory to the retailers.

I generally don't have too many problems with turbo tunnel, but I always hit the warp. What I can't get past is the Snake Pit. Holy shit that level is fucking brutal.

I hear the difficulty was toned down quite a bit for the Japanese version. How much did they change?

What are some worthwhile retro point and click adventure games not by Lucas or Sierra?
Bonus points if they haven't aged like milk.

I was always a sucker for the Tex Murphy games, especially Under a Killing Moon. Not exactly "Lesser Known" I don't guess, but I don't hear it brought up all the time.

There are some timed sequences that are a little clunky, but otherwise pretty fun and engaging.

Definitively even better than some Zelda games.

Does anyone here have any experience ordering any retro vidya from gamestop? the disclaimer on the website kind of freaks me out. i don't really mind paying what is considered retail if i really want a game, but the fact that i have no idea what kind of condition the cart will come in (or if it is real) have me a bit nervous to order.

>even though they say carts shouldn't be “defaced or damaged" you can end up with one that has marker or something etched in it
>cracked or scuffed jewel cases
>really scratched CDs that will make you question how long they'll last
>CDs in a cheap yellow sleeve or generic black DVD case
>crusty controllers and/or loose analogs
>Nintendo carts will never come with original box
>manuals are a maybe
>you COULD luck out and get everything in good condition
You're better off going to one and seeing if they have retro stuff on display or using eBay.

bought 5 SNES games, 3 were repros, one had a badly faded label, and the last didn't work
