I've always thought this game was prime Saturday morning cartoon fodder.

Guardian Heroes would be a great fantasy anime (maybe with a modern chara design), something like The Slayers.

Manhunter and Illbleed would be great movies, but i think they could be also good short series, like 5 or 6 episodes

In my opinion, yes, but Nintendo made too many good games and different people have different tastes, so a lot of people will have different favorites. To me, though, SMW is the definition of timeless classic, and best video game ever made.

WWF Warzone on the N64 was, I think, one of the first where you could customise your character to quite this extent.

I guess people assume that sports + Mario = shit cash grab with babby characters. Fun fact, the N64 game was one of the best-sellers in Japan, outdoing Mario Party 2 and selling just below Pokemon Stadium.

Because Mario Power Tennis on the Gamecube outshines it.

Sports games are usually kind of hard to talk about, even when remembered fondly.

Mario Tennis was fun. But there's not much else I can say about it.

Did the 64 even have any other tennis games?

Because you've never played past the first four stages. Stage 5 is overly long and repetitive on top of having no checkpoints, and the shmup segment of stage 6 is absurdly hard without the beam sword (or the controlled fireball if you are an ascended being capable of using it effectively).

Fantastic game aside from that, though. One of my favorites.

Treasure is overrated.

It's still my personal favorite.

64 felt too shitty, Double Dash was too unconventional, Wii was too casual, and the handheld ones just weren't the same because Mario Kart has always been a big deal for local multiplayer.

None that are retro. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love every retro FF for various reasons but to have to play only two for decades? Nope. Final Fantasy X-2 and Lighting Returns are two fun games I've yet to properly break. If I absolutely had to pick retro ones, I'll go with III and V.
