They also made CVS2-themed versions of the AsciiPad and Ascii Stick for the DC and PS2, but after that they stopped making game controllers entirely. It's all Hori and MadCatz now

I have the SNES version. It's pretty cumbersome to learn. Oddly enough, it was meant for racing games, not RPGs. The gimmick is you can write your stats down in the book while playing the game. I think there was a Gallop Racer version too? But don't quote me on that.

I bought one of these ascii pads a couple of years ago. Its surprisingly bad. Cheaper made than a sony pad and controlling games with it is really awkward. Gave it away because it was disappointing.
