Magical Knight Rayearth has a typically bad Working Designs translation but is quite good otherwise and you switch between 3 characters with different abilities which is fun.

Legend of Oasis is more action focused, but is I think better than most actual Zelda games and a hell of a lot of fun to play.

Shining Wisdom is very meh.

This game is definitely a hidden gem. Graphically, it's far superior to SNES Zelda and it has a much stronger story IMO. I also think the gameplay is much better, despite A Link to the Past being one of my favorite games of that era. Too bad it's obscure and the team never really went on to make many other games.

Brought it to /vr/'s attention years ago and was told repeatedly that I'm an >>3829943 and/or faggot for thinking that the Link to the Past engine + Ocarina of Time creator would make a good combination for a fun game. The translation wasn't complete back then but interest sparked by my faggot interest in the game led to its recent completion.

Still have those crunchy grooves stuck in my head.

Be to low level and get my shit pushed in. Be too high level and game becomes too easy. Didnt seem to be a middle ground in any ys game i played. Metroidvania has the same issue. All good games but would be better if they just balnced it without thw rpg level system.

The only Ys games that ever caught my attention were the PC Engine versions and maybe some of the earlier Windows/32-bit remakes. Never understood the appeal of the newer PSP/Vita entries.

Landstalker for Genesis. Deeply entertained, I never beat it due to a number of confounding outside factors. Have thought often about this game from time to time.
