I played the Saturn one back when it came out. Pretty solid game. I got a PC Engine recently so I'm thinking of giving the others a try.
>>
Not really OP
And despite the popularity of Maru its never been translated supprisingly enough.

There have been projects working on it but they all fizzle out rather quick.
Not sure if its just things like free time or interest of the people working on it, or something technical like encryption or compression of the game's text that is holding things up.

I'm wanting to build an arcade machine, something that runs MAME. I have a wooden cabinet, a control panel that runs off of USB, and an older windows PC that runs up to Dreamcast effectively.

I want to get a CRT and then put a good frontend on the arcade, something that is user-friendly, shows off previews of the game, and gives the control layout before the game starts. Anybody have one to recommend? Thanks.

do they talk much about frontends there?
>>

I don't know who metaljesusrocks is, but google told me that gameex, hyperspin, and a few others are used. I'm looking for info and opinions on them. And since it took longer than 2 seconds both to google search arcade frontends and to post this thread here, I don't really see how either thing implies a lack of care.

I don't think anyone uses an arcade machine 'all the time' but I don't think anybody uses any game device all the time either. But do tell, is there a better way for me to get my arcade fix at a stand-up unit, given I'm in a town that has no arcades?

the opening of sotn honestly really set me up to be disappointed by the rest of the game. I thought it was in some way going to be a sequel to rondo with a better story, cool martial arts moves, and a well crafted atmosphere with set pieces

It's one of the few action puzzle games that don't use a matching or shape fitting mechanic. Wish there were more variants of this game instead of bazillion clones of Tetris.

Team orders. What other racing games had them?
14 posts and 5 images submitted.
>>
Which of those gave the team driver AI the ability to refuse an order, if they saw a better opportunity?
>>
Wow I had no idea team orders were even a feature in games, am curious
>>
>>3472229
The grid consists of 2 drivers per team, so you have a team mate in the race. With a bunch of hot keys you can give them orders like go for the line, take out an opponent, cover me, and so on. The AI responds via radio either affirmative or negative. If negative, they usually say why. For example if you tell your team mate to take out someone else, they may respond with "No can do, I'm going for the line"
