What's the best retro game based off Dodge Danpei?
The Genesis one. It's also the best dodgeball game ever made.
>>3470356
What dodgeball games are there even besides that one and the Kunio ones?
>>3470342
Wow wait a sec, wtf is dodge sanpei? Bet it's a Japan only game/series
Anyone else play this one?
>>3470324
I vaguely remember seeing the box art in like a scholastic catalog or something. It definitely looks familiar anyway, never actually played it though.
>>3470324
I absolutely loved that game. Played the shit out of it. I'd love to be able to get a running copy of it.
I remember seeing it in an episode of Legends of the Hidden Temple
My brother and I had it when we were 8. Turns out it wasnt hunt for Red October. Just learned that today. I had no clue what I was doing I would always try to hit land, where you would get that animation of the guy climbing the ladder.
Appreciation thread for this game
Had it for the C64 when I was a kid.
Was pretty good.
Silent Service, before anyone asks.
My mom got this for free off her friend for me. I tried so many times to play it but it was so boring. I couldn't figure out what even the objective was other than to torpedo boats and that took eons. Definitely not a game for little kids.
/vr/, where's the best place to scoop up a N64 for a decent price? Do I just keep an eye on eBay or what?
One with cables, expansion pack and a singular controller would be preferable. I'm planning on getting Hori pads and an Everdrive at some point as well.
>>3470313
Garage sales. I got an N64, Atomic purple controller with the expanded ram pack...for $2.
>>3470313
N64 is on the raise on eBay.
Your best bet is probably craigslist for sure. N64's are going for like 50 CAD right now in Vancouver.
Ebay is a crapshoot for sure. you could probably get a killer deal on an auction, but at the same time, people go balls to the walls insane over winning an auction.
>>3470351
Wow, no shit. They weren't this expensive when I checked last time. Same with the Hori pads. What the hell happened?
Oh well. Thanks for the tips anon
What are the best emulators for Android? Gba, SNES, NES... etc
Forget about it, Tony. If you don't have a Xperia Play or something similar it's not worth it. Just get a PS Vita that's got a firmware below 3.60 and check out Henkaku
>unironically wanting to play games on a cellphone
fkit annon ther are good emulators out there for android my personal favorites are:
nes games Nostalgia Pro version
Gba Games My boy! great emulation
Snes Snes 9x Ex+
Gbx Games GBC EMU
try for yourseld annon and enjoy the oldies
Bonus points if they can run in 60hz.
The Turrican series is GOAT.
Gonna be a short thread.

So I have a Ps1 but I only have 2 games for it. I don't have the money to go out and by games for it. Would you suggest that I use an emulator? I prefer to play the games on the original hardware.
Mod it.
dont mod it, use PS-IO
Emulate and enjoy improvements such as PGXP.
Can I get some recommendations for PC Engine CD games? I'm into platformers, beat em ups and shmups, thanks!
I suggest you just start trying out games and form your own opinions. There's a glut of info out there for the PCE/PCECD. Do your own research, friend.
>>3470013
Oh, okay...THANKS.
Keith Courage CD is awesome, way better than the hucard version
Let's talk about games we're just now getting around to playing.
I'm currently playing Lufia 2, nearing the end (I think). It's pretty neat, the character interactions are fun even if the characters themselves are one-dimensional, and I love how the dungeons are full of puzzles instead of just being random encounter slogs with the occasional branching path where one path leads to a potion or something. It's a shame that the battles are the most bog standard JRPG shit I've ever played; there hasn't been a single interesting mechanic or encounter so far, and I don't expect that to ever change. They're very easy, too.
Also there are some questionable bugs.
I liked the IP system, can't remember seeing a similar mechanic in a SNES JRPG
reminds me of the limit break system from FFVII and the way you learned abilities from your equipment in FFIX, except better
I'm playing Breath Of Fire II for the first time and I must say it's pretty damn boring and tedious
I can't play Lufia II after having played Wild Arms
it's just not possible for me
>>3469853
You would like Wild Arms and Final Fantasy Mystic Quest.
Just got Pseudo installed on my Saturn & I've got 8 discs. Can someone do me up a list of worthwhile games? Radiant Silvergun and SF Alpha 3 both look great, but what else should I be looking into?
Do yourself a favor and play Powerslave/Exhumed. Saturn version is the best, too.
If you're into survival horror, Deep Fear and Enemy Zero.
Machi
Neon Genesis Evangelion: 2nd Impression
Devil Summoner
Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers
Sakura Wars
Sakura Wars 2
Super Robot Wars F
Super Robot Wars F Final
>>3469814
Will do, heard a lot about this. Impressive visuals for the saturn too.
Now I've heard of Deep Fear; its like underwater Resi right? Enemy Zero looks hard as shit but I'm all for good horror stuff if its proper spoopy.
Keep 'em coming dudes
Why are people obsessed with the "authentic experience"? This guy won't play an emulated version. And he bought a cart that turned out to be a reproduction cart. He refuses to play that too.
I'm genuinely curious about people like this.
People like owning stuff
>cartridge made decades ago and released officially by nintendo
>cheap chink made cartridge with most likely lesser materials
>no conceivable difference.
You can delete the thread now.
Why are they so half-assed about it?
He should be getting Vampire Killer for the Mega Drive instead some localization.
Not wanting to buy bootlegs is pretty understandable.
Your opinion on Banjo Kazooie 3.
_______________________________________
Janitor meme note: The game OP wants to talk about is, in fact, Donkey Kong 64.
Its so Banjoo Kazooie that even hás a level that was scrapped from BK1, Fungus Forest now is Fungi Forest in DK. Well I fucking love to collect shit, so this game is the epitome in collecting a thon of shit
I own it but have never played it because I always have better things to spend money on than the damn expansion pak.
>>3469651
(which is literally packaged with the game)
What's your favorite CAG, /vr/?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Platform_game#Comical_action_game
Earthworm jim
>>3469452
That's kind of a random name; I usually call them Arcade Single-Screen Vertical Jump Dealies
Bubble Bobble is supposed to be the ultimate classic, but Snow Bros will always be the one for me: unique look, awesome co-op, and addictive as"snow". The Mega Drive version is pretty interesting too, it adds some more levels and you actually play as the princesses, as if it was some kind of contemporary sjw-friendly rom hack. Shame it didn't get released outside Japan
>>3469662
I swear I thought that was Devilotte de Deathsatan for a second.
Pinball thread hasn't been up for a while, let's fix that. Unfortunately, I don't have the links from the previous generals.
Got the top score on my favorite game at a local place tonight. The previous best was 24 million. I got a 5 million Dine Time, and a very long multiball with the Rush active. Also note the 9 million Dine Time on the clock, wasn't able to get it though.
Just watched a video of Keith Elwin getting 17 billion points on Game of Thrones in under 1 minute. Why can't Dwight Sullivan program?
>>3469214
What annoys you more?
John's laugh or his content?
His basement is comfy as fuck.

I can't see shit.
Namco's official UGSF timeline is now translated in English: http://ugsf-series.com/en/
If you don't know about it, it's a crazy ass timeline showing games like Ace Combat 3, Galaxian and Mr. Driller were actually related all along.
The deepest videogame lore.

Neat.

>no lore connecting Pac-Man or Bravoman
Dropped.
