How come so many big Disney games on the Genesis had more levels in them than their Super Nintendo counter part?
Cartridge limitation?
Conversion problems?
Harder to develop?
Licencing?
I would love to hear your ideas
noone?
Its not just Disney games. Even games like the Lost Vikings have more levels than their Super Nintendo counter part
>>3482073
Snes disney games had hand drawn frames from disney themselves. Better graphics , better sound and more snes owners so they can get away with a short game. Castle of illusion etc are dead easy to complete
What are are some games that you absolutely loved as a kid but are terrified to play today out of fear that they have not held up well, or at least as well as you remember.
For me it's Megaman 64.
I remember it being this sprawling OOT esque epic that felt like I was playing an anime.
I've been thinking of replaying it recently (probably through the PS1 Legends as I've heard it's the best version), but I can't possibly imagine it being anything like the game I remember playing as a kid.
You SHOULD replay it, op
I played it recently and I had a blast. It's a game that holds up today, fuck anyone that says otherwise.
>tfw replayed all the games I had as a kid
Bad choice, but atleast I know what was actually good and not.

>atleast
what's your favorite retro MP game?
definitely not the one in the OP
definitely the one in the OP
definitely one in the OP
Why aren't you playing your Gameboy and Gameboy color games on a cute lil' screen literally as large as a postage stamp?
>>3481443
My eyes are shit and don't want to hold it right up to my face.
>>3481443
I can't because my flashcart is dead and haven't bothered to find a new one for my GB Micro.
>>3481443
This is why Japanese dudes are squinting all the time...
Games with a horrible gimmick,
>That little fucker would never listen to me
>>3481356
obligatory "the mic is god awful and it's a miracle he even knows the difference between your voice and a blender" post
Pikachu and I had such good times together when I was a kid...
Until we got to the piƱata. We don't talk anymore.
>>3481423
Never made it that far, I basically got out of the house then gave up.
I FUCKING LOVE SUPER MARIO BROS!!!
Who doesn't?
>>3481308
What gave it that retro feel though
>>3481308
It didn't age well.
I am a big fan of things like Doom and Splatterhouse, but are there retro horror games that focus more on telling a horror story without also being an action game? I am assuming that the majority of these would be on the Playstation, but feel free to post any that you have played.
One that comes to mind for me is Friday the 13th for NES. I remember my cousin brought this game to my house and he asked if I wanted to borrow it, but I wanted it out of my house after playing it for a few minutes.
Sweet Home
Clock Tower for SNES and PS1.
>>3481296
Juggernaut on PS1 is kind of spooky in parts.
Does anyone remember the guy from here who was working on his own blood engine? He posted screenshots and some updates to the doom general, but I haven't seen anyone mention it in a while.
>>3481104
The guy who also did Powerslave EX?
He's been silent because he doesn't want it taken down like the already mentioned project.
Who cares, it's not like it's going to be any good anyway. All the behaviours would be redone by him and in that regard, Powerslave EX is completely inaccurate in all aspects.
Besides, looks like we may get the real thing at some point >>3476239
>>3481110
Let me add that Powerslave has much simple behaviour than Blood.
This, Echo, and Super Mario RPG
What the FUCK did they expect with such weird and arcane gameplay mechanics?
Mickey Mousecapade had this weird owl thing take away Minnie and made it an annoying question to backtrack the whole level three times, and had this weird key take you to this area with these golden statues that did nothing except disappear when you touch one
Echo was just swimming around doing nothing until SOMETHING happened and you jumped in the air and did some loops
Mario RPG had that tadpole music thing I didn't get as a kid and made me waste my rent week just grinding and visiting the peak to see the Bowser castle
What are your childhood memories of weird things in games that impeded or confused you?
>>3480805
Its ECCO first of all. Second of all you sound like an idiot. However Mickey Mousecapades was a very bullshit game. I remember I could never get to stage 3 as a kid. FUCK MINNIE.
>>3480813
>Second of all you sound like an idiot.
rude fag
>>3480817
im sorry maybe you were just a dumb kid. I was too.
>opponents that learn your playing style to defeat you
Was this just straight up false advertising? I beat the game and I don't remember this ever happening.
>>3480770
The enemies at the beginning will begin ducking a few stages in when you punch.
>>3481364
SUPER ADVANCED AI
>>3480770
I have found all of the cages and I am on the last level of this game. I managed to make it that far in the game. Might as well finish it sometime.
Which Neo Geo BIOS should I use?
>>3480315
Universe BIOS allows for easy switch between arcade/console versions, quick cheats, dipswitches (useful stuff like hitbox viewing), and is easily my favorite pick.
>>3480337
Trying to use Universe BIOS, but all I'm getting is a blank screen. What am i doing wrong? Game works fine under AES and MVS BIOS
>>3480342
Weird. Is that FBA? I had similar problem, but alas I don't remember how I fixed it. Try using ver 2.3. Also, open up your neogeo.zip and see if you have unibios files at all.
Are there any other retro video games that are as fun, intense, spooky, and difficult as pic related?
>>3480306
bump.
>>3480332
You don't have to bump that soon, but you need one now.
>>3480306
No.
What are some games that have a creepy vibe yet don't try to be scary? Pic related
Creepy is a word used by women to describe a man that is lacking sex appeal.
The word you're looking for is spooky.
>>3480258
You're being creepy right now anon. Stop it.
>>3480258
Are you implying we should all be CIA agents for you big guys?
did u guys like the animal buddies?
i'm used to playing super bomberman 2 so i kinda think they cheapen the experience
are they the same as the ones in super bomberman 5 that make everything crazy af
cause I love those fuckers
>>3479389
they are lil kangaroo dudes. they give u an extra hit before u die. but u dont get any invincibility frames so if u get bonked by 2 bombs in a row u still die
>>3479396
dont get hit by a bomb period shitter
Anyone remember this wonderful game?
SNES port is way better than the arcade. You can block and perform desperate moves with a single button.
>>3479061
>SNES port is way better than the arcade
what a fucking retard 2bh
I used to play it on arcade machine for the 1st time as a kid. The art, dynamics, armor change upon lvling were great.
