Do you like this game? I'm about half way through it and I'm feeling somewhat conflicted.
>>3483562
They're all decent but never great. Some people like the later ones better, other ones say that's the best. I think they're all about the same. Worth playing through once at least.
I got stuck too many times until I just stopped playing, just like with Ocarina of Time. I expected better.

Hey /vr/ bros. I have a quick question for you guys. I bought this cart around 14 years ago since I didn't need to make any modifications to my SNES or the cart itself to play it. The thing is I can't find similar carts or any info on it. Is this just an elaborate bootleg? Game in question is Dragon Ball Z: Super Butouden.
>>3483536
Here's the front of that helps
Yeah, it's an bootleg, you can tell by the 2 holes on the bottom left and right to fit the american SNES.
I also have a bootleg of Super Butoden 2, very high quality with the back sticker, but it's still a chinese bootleg, from the early 90s when they cared to make them high quality, later on they started being cheaper, cheaper plastics, no sticker, etc.
These old bootlegs even came with the boxes and manuals, you wouldn't tell they're bootlegs unless you compare them side to side with the original.
>>3483548
Thanks, bro. I figured as much. Luckily I only spent 20 dollars at the most for it back then. Definitely still keeping this in my collection since it still works and it's a nice bootleg. Thanks again, bro!
Is anyone of you here familiar with obscure Japanese games?
I'm looking for a game from my childhood and honestly, I'm not sure I'll ever find it again.
Do you know the split-screen fighting games? The game played like 2 of the Yū Yū Hakusho SNES video games, the Zenki SNES game, the Ring ni Kakero SNES game and the Flame of Recca PS2 game.
Your main hero was a guy wearing a lizard costume, and it was done in anime style.
I do remember playing it on PC, but I don't remember if it was being emulated on those Japanese consoles like the PC Engine or it was an actual PC doujin title.
Pic related is from Yū Yū Hakusho: Tokubetsu Hen for an idea of what I'm looking for.
I'll be extremely grateful, since I've been looking for this game for well over 10 years.
More pics for reference. This one is from the Zenki snes game.
This one from Ring ni Kakero.
Flame of Recca for the PS2.
Im having a hard time deciding what I like more.
What do you prefer?
>>3483325
I like the accessibility of games without game hunting so emulators.
>>3483325
I lost my left thumb in an accident meaning I can't really use a controller.

What's the best way of obtaining/playing this? AFAIK there's no source port that comes with the actual game like zDoom.
>>3483220
play the saturn version
eduke32
>>3483220
>What's the best way of obtaining/playing this?
retail on MS-DOS on real hardware of course
Is there any way to run these games on a modern PC?
>>3483213
Specifically OS X.
>>3483238
Wine.
>>3483243
Much obliged.
I'm finally giving Icewind Dale a shot. From my understanding it runs like the other second edition Infinity Engine games, but focuses less on RP and more on combat.
Does anyone have some tips for the party? I thought I remembered somewhere that Thieves were useless, but I don't want to walk into a dungeon and die constantly to traps if that's true. Also, do any named Companions join that I should leave room for?
>>3483181
Didn't you make a thread?

SoulCalibur SOC14/vers. C = 30euro ebay, lol
Also share your recent purchases below anon...
That's pretty cool OP. May I see the cabinet you're thinking of sticking that into?
Anyway, the last of these came in the mail the other day, so my SNES/SFC Goemon collection is done.
>>3482851
sure. Just missing the namco extra wire. Prolly gonna make my own.
>>3482928
Looks really nice, anon. Good luck with that extra wire. Oh, and enjoy the game.
The link to Daggerfallsetup on the daggerfall wiki seems to be broken. Anyone here know where I can grab it?
It isn't broken

I'm getting 404'd

Select a snapshot from a different year. I just downloaded it this way.
How well do projectors handle analog video signals? Are they suitable for gaming? Is there any advantage to getting a projector from the era instead of using a modern one with VGA input? My PVM doesn't cut it for multiplayer and bigger CRTs are too expensive and/or heavy.
All the same advantages of other CRTs over fixed resolution digital light projectors which is what I presume you mean by "modern one"
Don't they ghost and lag a lot? Maybe that was only a problem years ago.
>>3482636
I'm not extremely knowledegable on projector technology. Are CRT projectors like in the picture the only true analog video projectors, or were the ones commonly used in classrooms in the late 90s/early 00s also analog?
Please tell me your 17 favorite nes games
I never had a NES.
Why 17? Top 5 or 10 is more logical.
My top 5 would be;
Super C
Castlevania III
SMB3
Tetris
Zelda I
Pretty pleb, but I don't care about delving any deeper than that.
>>3482603
What did ya have
It's time for a bad box art thread. Starting with a classic example.
>>3482409
>It's time for the same old shit
At least /v/ stays fresh on OC.
Strider Hiryu reporting for duty.
Do you ever play one game and then pretend it's something else?
Like, I sometimes play Wing Commander: Prophecy, but I imagine that it's a Battlestar Galactica game.
>>3482217
When I had no internet I would play Counter Strike maps offline and shoot at imaginary zombies. I'd gear up to have the same guns and equipment as Carlos from RE3.
>>3482217
Why are there no Battlestar Galactica games?
Theres that one TC mod for Freespace 2, but that's about it.
>>3482217
when I first played freelancer, it was to fill the void of there being no outlaw star game.
i even went so far as to replace the in game bgm with music from outlaw star's ost.
Pix related are all just the same game story-wise. Graphically and mechanically, sure, 2j got some tweaks, but we're still just talking about three different difficulty levels for a game representing Mario and Luigi's first adventure in the Mushroom Kingdom. In terms of story, Super Mario Bros. 2 USA is the true sequel to Super Mario Bros.
In fact, we can even trace a certain degree of continuity for the Mario Brothers, but only through the NES games (and SMW).
>The Mario Bros. live in Brooklyn, NY
>Mario is a carpenter working construction
>Comes into possession of large ape, Donkey Kong, who escapes and kidnaps his gf, Pauline
>Mario captures Donkey Kong and frees Pauline
>Donkey Kong Jr. comes looking for DK, Mario gets BTFO, decides to get out of the Evil Zookeeper biz
>Hooks up with little brother Luigi, goes into business a demolitions Wrecking Crew
>Get a job working for NYC as plumbers, cleaning up the pipes under the city
>Pipes infested with monsters—giant crabs, fighter flies, living icicles… and koopa troopas
>Pipes turn out to be a Warp Zone to the Mushroom Kingdom
>Weird gravity there gives them super powers, plus otherwordly magic and shit from power-ups
>They fight the Koopa Troop, defeat King Koopa, save the Princess
>Live in the Mushroom Kingdom as heroes for a while
>Weird dreams, picnic with Princess Toadstool and Toad, door to Subcon
>The whole Wart thing
>The gang saves Subcon, goes back, finds that Bowser & the Koopa Kids have invaded the grater Mushroom World
>SMB3, Bowser Koopa and the brood get BTFO, Doomship crashes on Dinosaur Land
>The Bros. and Princess vacation there, get into it with the Koopa Troop again
After that, also sense of continuity breaks down. Yoshi's Island, the gameboy titles, and Mario 64 all present too many contradictions to tease out a single narrative.
You know how the word autism is overused around here? I don't think it's gonna be misused in this thread.
>>3482921
"Autism" is the new "nerd" now that normies have decided to appropriate and revel in the latter.
"I'm taking chemistry this semester. I'm such a NERD lol."
>>3483274
Never thought of that. I think it was originally used as an insult on /b/ for the socially challenged.
