I've tried to get into some MUDs, but it seems that most MUDs are about fantasy stuff and I don't really like fantasy enough to enjoy it in text adventure format. I would love to play some sci-fi/cyberpunk themed MUD.

Is there a MUD with a simulated universe with planets and ships etc.?
>>
>>3479181
Not what you asked for but HellMOO isn't fantasy.

I understood his reasoning, and I think the Vault dweller would no longer be happy there if he was able to stay because he had seen freedom outside the vault.

Imagine being couped in there with a bunch of nerds after you just got done shooting fucking mutants and punks with a giant ass gatling gun on the daily.

Anyone else nostalgic for the 2D images from the 32bit era that were clearly flat but rotated to always face the camera?

Example the trees in this image.

I like them, but I admit they don't look good on HD resolutions, but they look fine on CRTs.

Speaking of Mystical Ninja, I like what they did on this level, it's like a theatre level so the trees are part of the scenography (you can even see the stand behind them), so it makes sense that they're like cardboard cut out trees.

It's fine. Same as leaving a PS1 memory card in, or an N64 controller pack.

No. It gives you cancer and makes you sterile.

Does anyone else here know about this old gem?

I found out about it a few days ago and i'm having a blast. It's very fun leveling up and promoting your creatures or knights into different classes, questing for items and secret characters, unleashing death on the battlefield with motherfucking hydras.
I think it's weird that this game is so obscure, because it's so fucking good. The soundtrack is nothing memorable, unfortunately, but the characters, the setting and the battles make for a great game.

I did not beat it yet, i'm playing Leonia on Normal difficult, i've already conquered Norgard and i'm close to finishing off the Esgares Empire, after i'm done with them, i'll close in on Caerleon (motherfuckers have TWO Fafnirs) and Iscalio.
Fairy + Tiamat in the same team fucking rocks.

did you know that you can change your characters to a different class after they gain 5 levels and master them and they'll retain any passives or spells that they learn and maintain their progress in the class tree? So you can turn Kiloph into an ultimate melee killing machine or give him priest spells so he can sustain his monsters and fight on the front-line at the same time.

since it takes 10 levels to reach the next tier of classes anyway, unless they're special characters with unique classes there's never any reason not to multi-class
>>
>>3478151
Yeah, i figured that out.
But it's only worth it if the knight is very low level and you're lacking a specific type.

I was going to turn either Sophia or Filo into enchantress because Leonia already has too many priests/clerics, but i recruited an enchantress (Cortina) in a quest.
I also recruited two other priests and a cleric, thankfully Kirkmond (sorcerer) and Dillard (grappler) joined me after i defeated Norgard, if i got more healers i'd go crazy, the last thing Leonia needs are more healers, god damn.

http://nesrocks.com/blog/superpitfall30th/

The Super Pitfall 30th Anniversary Edition hack aims to update the game to be more enjoyable today with revised game design and improved graphics, while trying to maintain the original concept and feel of exploration intact. I have tried to keep the level design the same too, otherwise it just wouldn’t be the same game. There are just a few differences here and there, see if you can spot them.

Some of the changes include:

>Completely new graphics
>Completely new songs
>Items are not invisible anymore
>Warps are now doors you can enter
>The hud shows important item collection progress
>Some bugs have been fixed
>Improved performance

Why weren't many of the classic SNES RPGs released for UK consoles? Even basic shit like Chrono Trigger and Super Mario RPG didn't get a release.

>>
UK only releases? I thought european releases had to have 5 different languages for a full on european release.

Was there really such a thing as a UK/France/Italy/Germany only release?
>>
At the time it was difficult to convert games from NTSC to PAL/SECAM, the snes wasn't doing so good in Europe and most games got multiple languages which they just didn't really have space or time for so Europe got shafted.
>>
>>3477757
>UK only releases?
That's the world for a British game. UK, USA and Japan.

>Was there really such a thing as a UK/France/Italy/Germany only release?
A couple. Banana Prince was only released in Germany, Sailor Moon/DBZ only in France and a Time Bokan game only in Italy.

Gameplay wise this shit is fucking perfection, its so smooth. Why doesn't it get any love from RE fans?

You only really git gud at Parappa 1/Lammy by almost completely disregarding the song and doing your own thing to a fairly strict template. Getting COOL in 2 on the other hand still kind of perplexes me to this day.

Welcome to recommendation charts.
It's either a list of titles the creator knows or copmletely random.
You really shouldn't spend too much time about them.
>>
>>3477195
>>3477212
this being said, anyone got some charts for snes/gba/genesis etc
>>
>>3477686
We need to just have a chart of games that /vr/ has a strong opinion on. Like Earthbound or FF7, where there are a lot of people on this board who love them and there are a ton of people who hate them. You're less likely to find a mediocre game, which is the problem with these charts, and the bad ones you'll realize you don't like immediately.

6-button frontal layout or 4-button with side buttons?

6 front. Closer to a traditional arcade layout/feel and better for fighters (typically the only games that really made use of 6 unique buttons to begin with). SNES shoulder buttons were fine for platformers etc but weren't that ideal for fighting games.
>>
>>3477119
I agree with this.
