Same thing. I usually say delay just because lag is associated with network issues

What is your favorite video game franchise? What do you think about where it is today?
Overall I'm extremely happy with Pokemon. The high point of the franchise games being Black and White, the low point being Diamond and Pearl which were just a boring chore to playthrough.
Definitely guitar hero
Final Fantasy has been dead for a long time.

A bunch of years ago, I had an NES-rom I had downloaded from some blog or something. It did nothing more than display "The Treachery of Images" in a pixelart form on the screen.
Anyone who knows where I could find this? I've been searching for it for a while with no results.

I'm not entirely sure, I just feel like it would be fun to have it.
This game good or bad?
It'sThe Ooze
I'll try it out and report back here. I have the whole set of Genesis ROMs. It's easy for me to try ANY game.
I've never played it but the first level theme gets stuck in my head every fucking day.

Anyone who knows where I can get a Famicom repro of "Zelda - The Legend of Link"? The only one I've found that doesn't only make NES carts only sends to the US and Canada.

Since it uses both a sound chip and the MMC5-mapper, I don't think I can just ask someone on AliExpress to make one for me.
whats your email anon i can get you one.
>>3476093
I'm actually not able to buy one now because I'm about to move and I don't know what my address will be yet, I just want to know this for later.
MSR388
Looks good but not retro dude
Come to think of it, what does AM2R stand for?
Hello anons, I'm interested in games that have a particular focus on historical accuracy. That could be game scenarios closely mirroring actual battles, or realistic game mechanics -- that sort of thing.
I'm mostly interested in WWI/WWII shooters but feel free to post whatever. Rot3K and the like are welcome also.
Darkest of Days

Lol good one, cool game though
>>3474469

Someone says to you "my favorite game of all time is Ocarina of Time."
How do you respond?
Depends on the person, but if it's someone I get along with I probably talk about Zelda and video games in general with them, OOT is a great game.

>Never really big sonic fan b4 my generation
> Started playing sonic 2
> How the fuck did sega fuck sonic so bad
> All you had to to was go fast,
> Extra why are sonic fans cancerous.
Because the series went from "gotta go fast" to furry drama.
They're getting better.
Don't worry about stuff like that, just enjoy the games.
You should play Sonic 3 & Knuckles, OP. The whole Genesis trilogy in fact.
>How the fuck did sega fuck sonic so bad
Back in the Saturn era they couldn't get a 3D Sonic out the door so they lost a lot of momentum to SM64. They got some back with the Dreamcast but after leaving the console war they were at the mercy of deadlines, questionable directors, terrible business decisions, all sorts really.
>Extra why are sonic fans cancerous
In order to differentiate Sonic from other platformers they turned the drama, edgy 'tude and cinematic cutscenes up to 11, creating a split in the fanbase if not outright losing all the 'classic' fans they had. Particularly evident in the Heroes/Shadow/06 trilogy.
Things are going a bit better now (in the main series at least) with the commercial and critical success of Sonic Generations, Sonic Colours and presumably Sonic Mania once that comes out. The 'cancerous' era that spawned that particular breed of fans is over but the memory remains, I suppose.
What does people use for organizing their games/roms?
I've started using pic related for my ps1 games I really like the set up and fanart, but it's not good for recognizing PAL games. So I sometimes have to add art manually.
Are there any other program like it that are better?no PAL bullying plz
Launchbox
>>3474198
This. I just started using launchbox and diggin it. though it seems any fucking "DOS" game I get either needs win32 or doesn't install right on it, but hey, this is ROM collection, not DOS lol
openemu, duh
Would FF7 have been as huge a deal had it been a N64 exclusive?
Except for the fmv's, Is there anything about it that couldn't have been replicated or even improved through a cart-based release?
Not just the cut-scenes, I think the music might have sounded worse too.
I dunno, the game looks like shit so I think it would have been at home on the n64. The cinemas are laughably bad too so they could have been cut.
Was 7 just on PSX because the N64 couldn't hold all the data?
I think if 7 was released even without the FMVs on the N64, it would've been "hype", and a lot of people would've bought it. It would be less of a meme, but it would be a meme nonetheless. You'd have more Nintendo manchildren who love the shit out of it, and probably more girls.
>>3474038
I don't see how it could be worse.
Nerds genuinely loved this company and their Family Guy-tier "adaptations" of Japanese games.
Sad!
>nerds
>posting on /vr/
>calling other people nerds
Yeah, I thought World of Warcraft was a cool game until Family Guy adaptations.
Also, Diablo was a good series until Family Guy adaptations.
My favorite band was cool, but Family Guy adaptations killed them, which sucks.
Looking to have a thread about JP only /vr/ releases. Are you currently playing, or want to play something that was never brought outside of Japan? What games are worth playing? Discuss systems, translation patches, series, etc.
Posting the obligatory "Japanese Twin Peaks: The Video Game".

I've been playing the Super Robot Wars series for several years, now. I only own a handful of physical copies as far as retro SRW games go (Alpha, Alpha Gaiden, 64, and Link Battler), but I probably own about 90% of the SRW games released from 2000 onward.
Passed N1 this July, so I don't really view any video games as a possible problem.
I want to play Gunparade March, when I have time, cause people often talk positively about it.
