I started playing Legend of Mana. I have no idea what the FUCK I'm doing. Is there any point to hanging onto the map items, or can I just place them down wherever?
42 posts and 10 images submitted.
>>
>>3471985
No point in hanging on to them. To do all the stuff you need to do things in a somewhat certain order but the game is somewhat short and quite easy so it's not a big deal to do it more than once.

Place them down wherever on your first run, then look at a guide for the optimal order.
>>

That's a normal feeling. When I got the game I ended up calling the 900 number so much to get help on wtf I was supposed to do that I ran up an $85 phone bill. My dad was pissed.

The game is really open ended and often obscure about what you need to do to unlock the next thing but you should be able to just limp your way to the final boss. It's trying to get all scenarios that will really drive you crazy.
>>
it can be hard to figure out how to start events some times

lots of them won't happen if you have a partner with you which is kind of annoying if you didn't know that

I'm building a hyperspin setup. I want to to be completely ridiculous so I am shooting for about 200 consoles. I'm at about 60 so far and I'm having trouble finding the roms for some of the weirder more obscure systems. Like the Alf TV game. Are there any good spots to check out? I feel like I have dredged through the whole internet and I'm starting to run out of places to look.

Also hyperspin general?

How the hell has nobody uploaded the Wii Virtual Console WAD of this fucker yet? The injected version of it sucks ass, and I really want the official version from the Japanese shop channel before it got pulled.

Any good injection tutorials for Wii or somewhere I can find already injected wads?

I cam across a few but I couldn't be arsed to read them because they looked as if a 14-year old BR had written them.

I know your feel OP, I couldn't find it a couple months ago either. Just an injected version that crashed every time.

If it's any consolation you can play it almost perfectly in Final Burn Alpha, at least after tinkering with the settings.

None of those are approved, they are emulators on a disc. Very often very poor emulators too.

Sonic Jam is an exception but even that is a bit fucked up (music and sfx is not perfect).

Please help me guys, I met a guy on gumtree today who sold me this cart. He told me it was a special tournament cart for tmnt tournament fighters and I paid him 400$ for the cart because he said I could easily sell it for over 1000$ if I wanted. I have got it home and taken it apart, the board says nintendo on it but looks like nothing I have seen before. I have looked online and cant find anything about this tournament cart. Is it that rare that there is no info online about it or have I been duped?

Would this be any good for retro gaming?

It's got a 1.5ghz dual ARM cortex A15, and a powerVR chip likely 16 or 32 times as powerful as the one in predecessors.

Sounds like it should be able to handle any Quake3 engine game easily, and I'd guess Lithtech too, and whatever else of that sort. And of course tons of emulators.

What's offputting is the lack of high res analog - neither S-video nor VGA. Then there's the huge bunch of odd stuff, including dual gigabit ethernet...
...
On the other hand, it's got buttloads upon buttloads of GPIO, which ought to be usable as VGA, with plenty of room left, not sure about S-video or even component. I don't know if those M4s and PRUs could be usable by emulators. It would be more mundanely versatile if it had at least a triple core or maybe at least 1.8ghz A57s.

A less fancy version would be seriously tantalizing, either cheaper with some odd features cut down, or with S-video or VGA or quad cores.

Probably wishful thinking, but it is interesting.

I get the feeling that this is more of a micropc than something for playing emulated games.
>>
>>3471460
Oh, if it was a cut and dry microPC, there'd be no need to wonder if it was rather suited for retro gaming, as mentioned, a cut down version would be - if it was significantly cheaper from not having all the coprocessors and microcontrollers and dual gigabit ethernet.

It does contain a micro-PC in it, like, it even has a SATA port, though no VGA. However, it's designed a big more for novel hacker things. But then maybe some of the odd bits on it could be useful for emulation, or something else? If they were useful-in-theory, there might end up being experimental emulators on something like this.

There's others that are more like a microPC, this one's got serious quirks, so, if something experimental SBC-emulation-wise was done, it would conceivably be done with these.
>>
>>3471448
>Then there's the huge bunch of odd stuff, including dual gigabit ethernet...

That's not odd considering it's more of a development board than a SBC. Get an odroid or something if you want an emulation box, or better yet just build an actual HTPC.

Anyone here play the Lands of Lore series?

I started paying the first one recently, and it's been great so far, but I find that my characters melee attacks miss wayyyyyy too often, so much so that if I run out of magic I may as well reload my last save, because for every 1 hit I land the enemies will land 10.
