>hating my life in Australia
>considering studying the Russian language in Moscow for 4 - 8 weeks during 2017
I've found a school I'm interested in, but I thought I'd get some advice from others first.
Has anybody studied in Moscow?
Is it worth it?
Moscow is by far the most expensive city in Russia
You get the least amount of foreigner credit
If the money doesn't matter and it's only 8 weeks it doesn't really matter
If you really just want to learn 'russian' than Ukraine or Georgia are a lot easier to deal with for visas and people like westerners more
>>1176473
>georgia to learn russian
"no"
go to kyrgyzstan or kazakhstan op. ukraine is okay but go to the south or east.
>>1176445
yes op, go. don't listen to the other posters, why would you go outside of russia to learn russian? go to moscow by all means, you will find it of most interest
Is "urban exploration" a good idea or is it just for edgy teenagers?
There is an under-construction skyscraper near my place in London I was thinking of maybe trying to sneak into.
How hard can it be?
The idea is to visit abandonned building... there's nothing to see in a brand new building under construction
>>1176217
>under construction
Probably have security in place to keep homeless/junkies out.
>>1176218
Under construction can be interesting because unless you work as a construction worker Builder you get to see parts of the building that you would never see or experience otherwise and for cubicle drones this can be really enlightening and exciting experience.
Has anyone here ever studied in another country? For some reason I'm so bored here in America and I just want to go somewhere far away, like central Asia or something.
>>1175863
Go do it.
Yes. Totally worth it. After about 2 years abroad though being here is just like everyday-life, nothing is really new and exciting if you've seen everything there is to see. I'd suggest living in a place for a year or so and then move on to a another country. You can still get your degree if you send the new school your transcripts!
Hot or cold countries? What's your preferred climate?
Cold if there's snow, hot if there isn't.
Cold - moderate all the way
To visit cold of course.
Does anybody know the cheapest plane tickets in the US to go to another US state? I'm not a poorfag and just meeting someone very special for a little bit but plane tickets are at the start.

Google: "Budget airlines."

Subscribe to Scott's flight. $2/ month you'll get back in savings
Only reliable tricks are to book for midweek travel using a university IP address, a Windows computer and a non-modern web browser. Companies scrape those variables during pricing. Regardless of travel window, you can probably get even lower fares if you run/book at some weird time of day. If not, place contraband in your ass and fly Spirit and hope you are in the 1% of cases where Spirit was worth it.
Hey there, hows it going , good morning and greetings from ...
I'm going to Nepal next month and I loved this guy's most recent series on the place.
I really like the casual way Gabe does his videos, he doesn't push himself as the product of his channels. I like the "hey guys I'm here at this cool place check it out, let me tell you some cool stuff but I won't get in the way" vibe he gives off vs the "follow ME on MY magical journey" narcissistic bullshit every other channel and video seems to be. Like bitch I don't give a fuck about you I just wanna see this place.
>>1175189
I love the "How expensive is..." videos.
He just goes through his day telling how much he paid for each and every purchase.
As a cheap traveler this is perfect for me.

Going to Spain/Barcelona this week.
Is pickpocketing really such a huge deal there ?
Also anything specific from food that i should try there ? Any suggestions are welcome.
Simply be aware, dont have blackout sex on the beach, don't pass out in the train station. Most pick-pocketing stories in Spain I've heard are someone saying "I fell asleep in a park in Spain (passed out) and then the money was stolen from my wallet and my watch but they left ten euros and my passport"
I'm visting Barcelona at 9th of November and ill stay for a few days, what would be a cool way to meet people and places to visit? P.S. Are there any beach bars open at this period of the year?
>>1173426
> Is pickpocketing really such a huge deal there ?
yes, in tourist dense parts of town and on the subway. when in bars/restaurants don't leave your phone sitting on the table in front of you, if you do it's pretty much gone… as per usualdon't be a complete retard and you'll be fine.
> Also anything specific from food that i should try there ?
Carrer de Blai has pretty good pinchos
Any van dwellers here?
Anyone want to caravan down into baja for the winter ?
>>1173165
Hopefully in a year or two. Gonna save up 10k and buy a cheap econobox. Drive away from the east coast.
Or maybe the texas coast?
Free beach camping year round there.
Fish tacos every night.

Living/travelling in my tiny truck
Heading to Nashville from SF. From there...not sure yet
Since I can't find this information anywhere else, I'll turn to you guys. Is there a good resource for no-go zones in major European cities? If such a resource does not exist, I invite locals to share such information.
I ask because I'm planning a trip to Sweden and I'd like to know where I can stay in Stockholm and Göteborg without my girlfriend and I getting culturally enriched by gangs of you-know-whos, but I figure that this information can be useful for other people visiting cities about which they know very little.
>>1173023
You're literally have to go out of your way to find anywhere less than completly safe in Stockholm, and that would only be during might tine. Unless you are commie block watcher then you have nothing to worry about.
>>1173023
Don't trust anyone, sweden is a deadly hellhole, unless you know how to act and where to go you'll get raped and murdered in 5 minutes. Just cancel your trip and stay where you are
Fuck this Place! The food is shit, the people are retarded, and the weather is depressing. I need to get the fuck out as fast as possible.

I felt the exact same way while I was there during two 21 hour layovers back and forth from the USA.
I thought it would be cool to be there, so I specifically chose long layovers.
When I arrived I walked around for something like 10 hours straight and saw all the important stuff. It sucked -- everything is overpriced, the city is dirty, and it's full of oddballs.
Coming back I ended up staying in Schiphol Airport and shitposting on /int/ because I didn't want to put any extra money into the Dutch economy.
At least the airport has free and reliable wifi.
Bye, you won't be missed
Greetings all,
Looking to take a trip including these three cities. The plan so far would be to fly in to Prague, and then use train to travel to Vienna and then on to Budapest. I would spend about 5 days in each city, and fly out of Budapest.
Just wondering if anyone had any insight into these places, or had any insight on things I might be missing or not thinking about. I appreciate any and all feedback.
Bumping for interest in Budapest
>>1170370
benn in 2/3 cities. 5 days is a lot for each one. you might consider going somewhere else and cutting 1-2 days for each city. maybe Cesky Krumlov
Hey /trv/, important question here. I'm having to travel in the next week or so to go to Australia to be with my boyfriend of 10 years. We've been trying desperately to get a visa to where I can stay with him permanently, but as it stands I am in the US. The only flight that him and I can afford has me going through Doha, Qatar and being stuck there for a 9 hour layover. I'm scared shitless of Islam and Shari'a/Sunni law. Am I going to be thrown out an airport window and stoned to death on the way down? Will I have to pay the duty costs on any of my things if I'm only there to get on a connecting flight? The layover is only 9 hours, but I'm really freaking out.
Please don't travel. You're an embarassement to humans.
>>1176334
I don't know if this is shitposting but I would not be scared of going to Qatar. It's first world desu you won't get shit for being a woman. If you stay in the city you will see there are a lot of tourists and even a lot of English signs.
>>1176347
>Please don't travel. You're an embarassement to humans.
A contrary opinion -- assuming not a troll, I'd say a good dose of travel experience is exactly what OP needs.
Hey guys, so I'm going to be traveling to NYC soon from CA, and I wanted to bring my vibrator with me.
I was planning on putting it in a plastic bag, without batteries.
What do you think the chances are that I get my bagged searched? It's a small toy, just one of those silver bullets, attached to a remote via a cable.
>>1176253
It reall doesn;t matter if your bag gets searched beasue it's not illegal. If you were traveling to the Gulf or something it may be an issue.
Will this be checked baggage or carry on? Since it's electronic it's likely to be picked up on the Xray and they may ask to see what it is. There should be more discretion than to wave it around in front of everybody, though. If in checked luggage nothing to worry about at all.

Sup bros, I'm trying to decide if I'll go to Warsaw or Bucharest in like 3 more weeks. Which place is better? I don't know too much of those cities but if helps, I don't like cities that are like "metropolis".
>>1175897
Cracow is the correct answer.
>>1175897
Warsaw is not that nice. There is nothing older than the year 1945. Everything is fake and a reproduction.
Bucharest is dirty, full of gypsies, and not very good for normies to sightsee.
If you want Poland, go to Krakow. If you want Romania, go to Brasov.
>>1176016
Why Brasov anyways? I know the thing about the "Dracula's castle" but nothing else.
I'm a Swedish student who has lost all motivation and wants to pause my education and travel sometime during the 6 months after the semester ends at christmas.
Where should I go? I want to stay away for at least a month in a warm country.
I have limited funds (about $2.2k or 2k€) but I could work for a couple of months probably and then travel.
I am really interested in South America, especially Colombia, but that seems to be very expensive. Australia is an option because then I could work while I'm there. SE Asia or Spain would be nice too.
Any advice?
>>1175751
>I am really interested in South America, especially Colombia, but that seems to be very expensive.
Do you mean because of flights to get there or something? In my experience, South America is not particularly expensive -- but I have never flown there from Sweden.
>>1175762
The flights and the stay. I can't seem to find a cheap way to stay there.
>>1175751
A buddy of mine went to Thailand for 7 months. He rented a appartement for 100 Euros a month, more or less that is. Food is very cheap ( expect 1 or 2 euros for a whole meal ), Taxi's are securely monitored against fraud as well so travelling is relatively safe. The drugs scene is almost non-existant due to very strict laws.
Also expect pussey if you're white.
