Scion is a game created by White Wolf in 2007 about the descendants of gods fighting to save the world. The rights have gone to a company called Onyx Path and they started a Kickstarter for the second edition today. It promises more pantheons, a wider scope, and a brand new system.
Did you ever play Scion 1e? What did you think of it? Are you excited for Scion 2e? What kind of Scion would you make?
Exalted?
>>49463798
No, Exalted is busy being Exalted, this is more like American Gods but with a heavy dose of modern action movies.
>>49463779
>Did you ever play Scion 1e?
Yes. Never again.
If they're overhauling it completely, though, I suppose I can give it the benefit of the doubt and see how they manage.
So I'm going to be starting a new game with some new players soon. We all know each other and one of them wants to bring his girlfriend.
I know his girlfriend, and she definitely won't enjoy playing tabletops (which is fine, it's not everyone's cup of tea, I appreciate), but I don't want her ruining it for the others.
How can I politely tell him not to bring her? He's a bit sensitive and I don't want to offend him.
>>49460574
Let her play for a session or two. If she isn't enjoying herself, let her bf know, and that it's okay if she doesn't want to play.
>>49460574
>Player wants to bring their girlfriend
Abandon ship. There's no way I can see this going right. The only scenario worse than this is the DM bringing his girlfriend.
>How can I politely tell him not to bring her? He's a bit sensitive and I don't want to offend him.
Tell him you don't like bitches at your table. If he gets all pissy about his hurt feefees, you can simply tell him "I wasn't talking about her"

Looking to get into 40k. What do I need to get started?
>>49455960
Ideally I'd like a small number of orks and space marines to play with friends.
>>49456005
Assault on Black Reach if they still sell it
>>49455960
Lots of time and disposable income.
The ability to enjoy pulp fiction.
High frustration tolerance.
Most importantly a personality that doesn't lean towards the obsessive or very much self discipline.
That last thing is important because if you manage to dedicate yourself to one army only you'll actually get shit done. And you also won't waste money on miniatures you will never build.
Heed my words, pick your army wisely and stick with it.
Fluff wise, these should translate to at least AP 4 on the tabletop... I mean it shoots baby missiles
PROTIP: To defeat the Wraithknight, shoot at it until it dies.
Autocannons and Heavy Bolters are AP4
Autocannon shots are much bigger than bolter shots. Heavy Bolters should be obvious.
Past that is AP3 which is how much battle cannons pen.
I think bolters are just fine where they are.
>>49451695
>I think bolters are just fine where they are.
they should be able to crack carapace armor doe, since they can defeat lite armor vehicle nameen?
>>49451695
>I mean it shoots baby missiles
19mm really isn't that big for an anti-armor projectile
I mean it's fucking huge for an automatic small arm, but not really that impressive compared to modern autocannon ammunition, 25/30mm rounds that go through an inch of armor grade steel.
There is only so much energy you can pack into the casing, no matter what chemicals you use for combustion, that's why we have tanks and shit with 4 feet long rounds to make really big holes.
As lawful good, do you kill chaotic evil children?
>>49451205
That woukd fall under lawful stupid.
For both the character and the player.
>>49451205
all children are chaotic evil
>>49451205
Children are neutral.
Alignment is a conscious decision. And only comes into play when you dedicate yourself to it, like paladins. Little shits aren't Evil. They're just people, who happen to be little shits.

>What are some red flags you see in players?
Likes to show off their collection of knives by describing how fast they can cut a throat.
Hey, I got a vampire question. I'm considering bloodlines for my Daeva in requiem and I'm really liking the Amara Havana
The thing is that they leave illusory bloody hand prints on everything they touch
could I counter that by wearing gloves?
>>49436891
>can I counter my bloodline's signature weakness by just wearing gloves
I'm leaning towards no, anon, for obvious reasons.
D&D 4e General /4eg/
How often do you get to play 4e games in this grim dark age of Pathfinder and 5e?
Also, ladyknights best knights.
If you are GMing, remember...
1. To strongly consider giving out at least one free "tax feat," like Expertise and pre-errata Melee Training.
2. To use Monster Manual 3/Monster Vault/Monster Vault: Nentir Vale/Dark Sun Creature Catalog math. Avoid or manually update anything with Monster Manual 1 or 2 math.
3. That skill challenges have always been scene-framing devices for the GM, that players should never be overtly told that they are in a skill challenge, and that the Rules Compendium has the most up-to-date skill DCs and skill challenge rules.
If you would like assistance with character optimization, remember to tell us what the what the rest of the players are playing, what books are allowed, your starting level, the highest level you expect to reach, what free feats you receive, if anything is banned, whether or not themes are allowed, your starting equipment, and how much you dislike item-dependent builds.
If you wish to talk about settings, 4e's settings are Points of Light (the planes and the natural world's past empires are heavily detailed in various sourcebooks and magazines), 4e Forgotten Realms, 4e Eberron, 4e Dark Sun, and whatever setting you would like to bring into 4e.

Why aren't you playing a fox hengeyokai?
How would you roleplay a fox hengeyokai avenger of Bane?
>>49420322
>Why aren't you playing a fox hengeyokai?
Because it's forced way too much to the point that everyone hates it already.
Next question please.
>>49420340
Why aren't you playing a pixie Desert Wind who suplexes enemies with Dragon's Tail at-will?
Way are the shity armored cleric the standard cleric in western rpgs?
I just want to play the cloth wearing heling slut that takes care of all the parties needs.
>Way are the shity armored cleric the standard cleric in western rpgs?
A valid point, I was thinking about homebrewing a divine spellcas-
> I just want to play the cloth wearing heling slut that takes care of all the parties needs
Oh.
Okay. Roll a cleric and wear cloth then. Problem solved

>>49461742
in my shitty homebrew classes are divided by Archetype and Power source, so a Priest is a SPELLCASTER with the DIVINE power source. A Cleric however is a RANGER with the DIVINE power source, reflecting the Clerics origins as an anti-vampire/undead specialist and also knocking them down to medium armor only so they can't outright replace the paladins and fighters.

During this thread you could have:
-Carrots
-Grapes
-Tuna sandwich
-Glass of milk
For a mid-thread snack, try:
-Pretzels
-Cheese
-Glass of milk
>>49459755
What kind of milk? Cheese? Grapes? What bread,'s the tuna on?Is it goat milk?
>>49459755
Be honest with me /jc/.
After getting the Metavore perk how much horrible crap did you eat?
What system would work best for this setting?
Mostly something that supports the wildly different hero types and powers, in addition to letting heros survive their intense battles without somehow dying
>Mutants and Masterminds
>GURPS
There are a couple other systems mentioned in response to "wat system run super an hero" but I forget, and can't be bothered to remember.
Google is sure to be a lot better than making this thread for the millionth time.
>>49459440
Specifically the one punch man setting though

DREAD
When the tower falls that's when he shows up and wins the fight for you.
>The DM imposes penalties on all charisma checks that involve logical fallacies
>Party face gets triggered as fuck
>"You didn't make an argument"
How often to logical fallacies come up in dnd conversations about dragons and dwarves and shit?
>>49459073
You'd be surprised
Party face should just
>pic related
now.
How might we reinvent the barbarian class without looking to historical realities for inspiration?
We could start by realizing that at the core, barbarian is just a really angry dude.
>>49454927
>How might we reinvent [Greek term historically used to refer to foreigners] without looking to [origin of the word]?
By making the word mean something else than it means.
Barbarians is 90% endless boasting and 10% having done anything.

Friendly reminder to tell us what 3pp your game allows if you need character building help.
Let's join a fey themed PbP game together! Lots of the applications are just placeholders, so we're all gonna make it! http://www.myth-weavers.com/showthread.php?t=372019
Maybe we should all join a fantasy Wild West game too? http://www.myth-weavers.com/showthread.php?t=373354

We need to update the pastebin. Prune some of the shit races and add in new homebrew.
Fantasy wild west seems pretty okay, but I'd rather drink bleach then play with you degenerates.
How exactly did the general get to be in the state it's in?
Weird helms?

I have some weird gladiator helmets.
