Can Astropaths have families?
Rogue Dynasties, and Navigator Houses rely on having biological heirs, High-ranking Imperial Guard, Navy, and Nobility personnel do not differ from normal men in that regard. Inquisitors may or may not, it's a complex issue.

But what about astropaths? Do they even feel like having a significant other after staring into the warp, and being bound to the emperor? Is there a point to them having a descendant, or it's just another branch for the psychic pyre which is the Throne of Terra?

Their kids will likely be taken by the black ships, they've experienced a fuckload of trauma themselves, and they're not exactly the most popular individuals being creepy blind mutants.

Really though, it'll depend on the Astropath.
A Feral World Astropath who works for a freedom loving Rogue Trader, and tries to rebuild his lost family/clan around himself will probably want such a thing.

A Forge World Astropath traumatised beyond belief would probably consider the thought remote at best.
>>
>>49409939
I see no reason for them not to, aside from the mentally traumatized by the soul-binding aspect, and even critically mentally ill people are looking for love.
Depends on the individual, I guess.
The question is who, short of another astropath, would put up with a crazy diviner.

Slaves? Mutants? Abhumans? Naturally blind and crazy individuals?

I'm super new to DnD, so please bare with me here...

I'm looking to find a list of "rogue" type classes, but can't find what I'm looking for, likely due to the fact I don't know what I'm searching for. My DM says I can use any pathfinder/3.5 classes, which there are a metric crap ton, so I'm a tad overwhelmed. Any advice?

Anon. Anon, please listen. It's still not too late for you. If you want to play DnD as a muggle and actually enjoy it, please consider playing the fifth edition. I beg of you.
>>
Not my choice, man, I'm just getting my feet wet and moving from there. I asked why not start with 5th, but DM said he is the most well versed in Pathfinder, so that's what we're doing
>>
>>49409562
Dammit, they never listen. In that case, I advise you to check out swordsage. It's a 3.5 class from the book Tome of Battle.

Orks are shit and should be NPC only who the fuck wants to play generic mooks existing solely to show how badass everyone else is? They should get squatted.

What is imperial guard?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the IG don't have balls of steel. They got those balls by being the least badass thing in the setting, which is why I like them.

What's the secret to writing a good adventure module?

Make it something I can, as a DM, easily pitch to my players in a single sentence. "We go into dungeons to stop a cult from resurrecting the scariest dragon of all time," "Skyrim, but with giants," or "Dark forces trap the party in Transylvania" all make it clear what type of game it's going to be so they can start building buy-in and thinking about what they want to play.

Things that are twisty, political, general, or disparate tend to fail to the other side "it's cool, you'll find out when we play it" isn't a good pitch. "We're one of three teams working together to rebuild an ancient artifact to prevent a massive, extinction-event earthquake" is.
>>
>>49409944

This.

Also I'd probably try to make the adventure highly location based.

There are concrete places for the players to visit with descriptions of what's going on in the place. Stuff to give the DM plenty to work with while also allowing the players room to explore.

Satan appears and challenges you to a game of strip d&d with him as DM--every time a party member dies and has to re-roll your regular DM must remove an article of clothing.

Complete the dungeon before the DM runs out of clothing (Tomb of Horrors), and receive infinite polyhedral die of any shape, size, or dimension (including the physically impossible).

Lose, and your DM is Satan's toy forever.

Our DM is phenomenally non-lethal, and we can probably look up Tomb of Horrors and metagme this shit.

Hey Fa/tg/uys. I've been looking at running a Fate Core campaign, based on Danganronpa, and I was hoping for some advice and help.

First things first, I'm kind of stuck with Monokuma/Junko's stats.
14 posts and 3 images submitted.
>>
i've never even come close to touching danganronpa but based on the sheer exposure i've gotten from sperg-out posts/stories about it, i'd assume monokuma is more of a plot device than an actual character? why would you stat something that never loses?
>>
>>49405908
A fair amount of the story progression is achieved but outsmarting Monokuma. Also Junko Endoshima is controlling him.
>>
OP here. This is what I've got so far for Junko.

High Concept: Ultimate Dispair
Trouble Aspect: Absence of Hope

Skills: Empathy(+4), Deception(+3), Provoke(+3), Lore(+2), Will(+2), Rapport(+2), Contacts(+1), Investigate(+1), Notice(+1), Resources(+1)

Why the fuck would Khorne get lured by gold, food or cheering crowds you retarded cuntard walking pro abortion advertisement fuck?
>>

Because Slaanesh might be weaker than the other Chaos Gods, but it is still powerful enough to alter the balance of power between two disputing gods if it joins their team.

Also, Slaanesh's realm IS guarded by tons of daemons, and it's a realm that is literally subject purely to its will.

TL;DR literally the same reason the other gods can't conquer each other.

Does anyone have a link to the article where one of the original creators of Rogue Trader saying how they just 'stole everything' or similar when being interviewed about the creation of the IP? I need it but either my google-fu is shit or it's just gone from the surface of the internet.

>>

No, there was an article from one of the gaming publications a few years back that was circulated through all the forums and places like Bell of Lost Shills that was about an interview with Rick Priestly or one of the original devs of the first Rogue Trader where he talked about how they went about ripping off everything and just openly admitted it.

No, 40k originated, orks, elves, and... no, they originated space, marines, armored soldiers...
no, I mean, they've always been dead serious about the 40k universe ...well mostly, except for..

It's always been over the top violent, ironic, humorous, mishmash of scifi and fantasy.

Hey, /tg/. I'm planning on running one of the adventures from this book for my players, and I was wondering if any of you had any experience with them. What works? What doesn't? What needs to be converted?

For those who've not read this already, it's a collection of system-agnostic horror adventures that are more or less designed for Call of Cthulhu. They were created thanks to a Kickstarter, and are up for free right now around the web.

One of the things I like in any story is the absurd, and not in the definition of "random" but "the quality or condition of existing in a meaningless and irrational world". When reality smacks our preconceptions so hard that we're stunned. Our expectations get fooled and we remember that our known foundations are built upon the forever unknown.

A paladin helps an orphan living on the street and finds out later that their purse was stolen.

Saving a princess from a dragon and then she kills herself because she doesn't like her arranged marriage.

Going into a dungeon and killing a group of orcs. One of them is wearing a stained apron. Sessions later, you find a cauldron filled with gravy.

Anybody have some stories to share? Or ideas/tips on how to do this quality?

Has anyone here played Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay before? What were your experiences like? Which edition would you recommend?

I was looking into 2e because it seems mechanically similar to the 40k RPGs, and my group isn't very interested in 40k so I need a Fantasy alternative.

>>
I got invited to a group that plays 2e and i really like it so far, haven't played anything in over a decade so i can't compare much. There is ton of career options and combat always feel lethal.

According to my GM the career choices gets way smaller in later editions of WFRP and things get way too simplified but i got no experience myself to judge that.
>>
If you search the 40k General, I think that the Mega link has all the books.

I ran Dark Heresy once, but the players were not familiar with the 40k universe and got bored quickly.
>>
>>49404466
I know, but I was specifically talking about the Fantasy Roleplay version, not 40k.
