'Evening Gents. I really, really want to get into ogre miniatures, but they've been shitcanned for time out of mind. I'm okay proxying them, but can't find any single model line with all the requisite vehicles, and don't want to mix-and match design styles too much.
My solution is to get my ass in sketchup and shapeways some things, but now I've got questions.
3mm or 6mm? I'm leaning towards smaller and cheaper, but I have a feeling not many people play/would buy 3mm sci-fi armor compared to the 6mm. Pic related, 3mm kitbashed ogre stuff from around the net.
General style? I don't want to just copy or ape the original games visuals, (partially because I don't like copyright notices.) So I'm pretty open to suggestions there. Does anyone have a style of armored vehicle they've always wanted to see in 3mm or 6mm at that?
In addition to the above, tank thread, post tanks.
Botes were here! Tanks is a loser!

Why not both?
I need your help, /tg/
I've got some writers' block as I craft a system in which a PC's astrological sign has an impact on gameplay. I'm taking inspiration from games like ADOM in which the PC either selects or randomly rolls their birth month, and therefore their astrological sign, and this sign provides a unique benefit.
I'm looking for suggestions and discussion of the sorts of boons you would like to see. I'm running this campaign in Pathfinder (no, shut the fuck up, this is not the place for your edition wars and bullshit), to give you an idea of the under-the-hood mechanical context.
Some guidelines I'm using for myself:
These signs should be unique in that they give benefits that the PCs can't get through their normal build currency options (like feats and traits and class features and so forth). They should also be things that all PCs will generally care about, though they can certainly be more desirable among one sort over another. Everyone might appreciate their HD landing on max when they level up, for example, though warriors get more use out of it. I'd like to not have to resort to boring static +1s and +2s -- I'd prefer that the signs allow the players to do things they just couldn't do otherwise, rather than just be "you do what you were going to do anyway but now with extra pepperoni".
The signs should be roughly on the power level of "two or three feats or class features", and it's ok if they're only situationally powerful. The PCs are already being generated at a pretty low power level, and it's ok if the players drool over their fancy options a little. I'm tinkering with "metagame" effects like minor bonuses to XP gained, randomly-timed or currency-limited "hints from the GM", and of course the boring 5th edition dis/advantage style rerolling.
I guess I'll dump some porn while I wait for the inevitable PF bashing trolls to die before real discussion starts.
DO SPACE MARINES POOP IN THEIR ARMOR General?
Please do not bring Plague Marines into this discussion, we already understand what is going on there.
>>49921853
Yes.
They have nutrient recycling facilites.
Anything else?
>>49921874
Why don't they take out their whole digestive tract then?
>>49921853
Yes the implication is that Marines eat shit.
Why don't people play this card in Modern? It seems really good.
Back in my day Savannah Lion was THE vanilla creature. We had to tap it both ways to school in the snow. And it was deep snow. None of this snow sexually identifying as water. I tell you snow should stay snow. What was I talking about? Oh right school. I tell you schools aren't like they used to be. I've not been in a school in 50 years now, but I reckon they're full of degenerates showing off their ankles and massive marrywanna orgies. You need proper counterspells to deal with that perversion I tell you. Cancel ain't good enough. Never leave home without at least four Force of Wills, two Counterspells and a mana leak for emergencies. Did you know you could make an entire deck of just Counterspell in the good old days? I bet they don't even teach you basic facts like that in school anymore. We had to starch our cards to play with them, starch was very important back then. Keeps the wrinkles out. Can't trade a wrinkly bird of paradise, you'll be shunned at the next Sunday mass for that tomfoolery. Now get out of my house.

Go troll somewhere else.

How am I trolling? There are FAR worse cards that see Modern play, pic related
So I've been hitting the Minecraft on play.devotedmc.com and I found this.
It piqued my interest, and sure enough, shortly after entering the treacherous forest I discovered the remains of an old structure.
I only carried a bunch of torches, but I went inside regardless, collecting the light sources again after I got my bearings.
The tunnels were confusing, but I kept heading down...

There is something comparable in the bricks of shitty fluff in the AoS books?
No there isn't. Warhammer fantasy went out of its way to build a Silmarillion level epic that guided the setting for many years. Though the archetypes of that epic eventually stagnated, the inspired writings of that era moved an entire generation of fantasy gamers.

I was a Chaos player. That poem alone, made me look at the swordmasters with awe and respect when my High Elf player friend deployed them.
5th edition book IIRC, before that turd of Thornton removed all the interesting rules from HE in 6th.

How would you run a Sandbaggers game /tg?
The way I see it, to capture the show's flavor the game would need to balance the grounded and deadly covert stuff with bureaucratic backroom dealing, departmental rivalry, and governmental stupidity all at the same time.
Personally, I'm debating between hacking Blades in The Dark or The Sprawl in the Apocalypse World family of games because Blades has a lot of good stuff in it for inter-organizational influence and competition, while the Sprawl does good mission and logistics stuff. Or using the recent Delta Green game without the mythos because it has a lot of subsystems for dealing with the chain of command and of course, the psychological decay of gritty espionage is baked in with Sanity mechanics.

Night's Black Agents minus vampires.
Gurps my dude
>>49921956
That would be pretty cool.
Looking for artwork that would depict fey kings and queens.
Sadly I don't have much to start but I'll post what Nature based things I have.
Be honest /tg/, how much does Warhammer 40k influence your D&D campaigns? Or any other RPG campaigns for that matter?
>>49920329
I've been conditioned to believe that grimdark is the default. So much so that when I was DMing a generic game of D&D the other night, when a player asked. >Wait so the government official is corrupt? why has the royal family allowed this?
It was a simple question but it stopped me in my tracks because I had no better answer than "because they're dicks, thats why"
absolutely not at all apart from occasional memery by the members of our groups or using something as a reference to better understand the setting in OOC conversations.
I like variety.
>>49920329
Bad jokes basically
What is the mandatory /tg/-related reading for any fa/tg/uy? And by "tg-related" I don't mean Drizzt novels or Ciaphas Cain books, I mean greentexts. Something actually produced by /tg/ and great at the same time, a rare combination.
Personally, when the topic of greentexts comes up, I usually think Powder Keg of Justice or All Guardsmen Party. What are other examples of /tg/ being fucking great?
>>49920261
Shoggy the Seldom Dog and LOS MAGOS DEL TIEMPO. In terms of non-greentext stories, TwoDee's Shadowrun Storytime is an excellent read.

Heroes of the Spiderwoods. It's relatively new, but it's one of the best things I've seen so far.

Woah angry god having angry followers that's so scary I mean after all frienzed Celts fared so well against disciplined Romans right? Oh wait they fucking died because losing your shit in battle is not a good sign.
What a stupid fucking god.
>>49920240
Except he's also the god of military discipline. They only go apeshit once they're on the charge.
Also his followers tend to be beefed up with daemon power.
Also you're a faggot, it's Warhammer.
>>49920346
>it's Warhammer
that's why it fucking sucks and so it's fanbase

I am legitimately having trouble following your rambling, autistic way of typing.
However, you aren't wrong.
In fact, Discipline, Organization, and group tactics is the only way the Empire prevails over the Norscan hoardes and their berserkers. Individually, an imperial soldier is no match for a northman. A block of them with pikes backed up with shotgonne and cannons however, remarkibly is. This is why the Empire excels when it's able to prepare and take battle formation, and eats shit when it can't.
if your DM revealed that the BBEG of your campaign was a powerful vampire with telekinesis and time-stopping powers obviously inspired by a certain heavily-memed JoJo villain, what would your reaction be?
MUDADADADADADADADA etc.
Ahhhh. That was refreshing.
Thanks for the gg DM!
>>49920172
I'd be dissapointed because couldn't defeat him without also using JJBA levels of asspulling and idiot balling
I would point out that even Vanilla Ice did a better job than him in combat.
Speaking of, part 3's brojos had a rough time, didn't they? The only non-JoJo survivor loses his foot, dies, then turns into a turtle, and that's the guy who gets more spotlight than either JoJo involved between Abdul deaths. Kinda jarring when part 4 comes right after...

Which Dark Souls boss is this?
They overdid it with the plate armor.
