Hi, can some MTG buff clarify this for me and a friend:
I know you can activate a creatures ability as often as you can pay for it. But what happens in this case?
Since every activation alters the creature's strength and life, does every activation also then iterate on the increased stats from the previous activation?
So, can he say "I pay 3 energy and make it a 2/2. Now I pay another 3 and make it a 4/4, now another 3 and make it a 8/8, etc...".? To me, this does not sound right. Shouldn't he have to pay everything at once and have it resolve just once for the entire amount of energy paid?

No he shouldn't, you were right the first time. He can pay to double then pay again and then again as many times as he has the energy for.

No he doesnt have to. If he activates the ability 3 times he would become a 2/2 then a 4/4 then an 8/8. He can do this at any time he wants. It doesnt have to be consecutively. As long as he has energy to activate it.

Once upon a time, there was a Servitor.
And this Servitor worked with his Tech-Priest.
He worked to serve the Machine God.
And this made the Servitor happy.
One day, the Servitor woke up, and got ready to serve the Machine God.
But when he looked, he couldn't find the Tech-Priest!
He looked high above, where the monitors were.
He looked down below, where the wires and cords were.
But he couldn't find his Tech-Priest.
So he went outside and began to look.
Outside in the big, big world.
He went out onto the road and he began to walk.
And the Servitor went on and on and on...
Then he came across a person.
"Are you my Tech-priest," asked the Servitor.
"I am not your Tech-Priest," answered the person.
"I am a person, and I am going to work at the mine today."
The person went off to go work at the mine for the whole day.
And the Servitor went on and on and on...
Then he came across a Servo-Skull.
"Are you my Tech-Priest," asked the Servitor.
"Beep-boop," said the Servo-Skull.
"Boop-beep-bee-deep-beep-boop."
The Servo-Skull kept flying on, and left the Servitor alone.
And the Servitor went on and on and on...

Then the Servitor came across a monster.

"WAAAAAAAGGHH!!!!!!!!!!" answered the monster.
The servitor was scared by this! He started to run!
The monster started to chase him!
And the Servitor ran on and on and on!
Finally, the Servitor got tired, and he started to slow down.
He looked behind him, and he didn't see the monster anywhere in sight.
He started to huff and puff. He was really tired!
Then he saw someone down the street.
The Servitor walked up to him and asked,
"Are you my Tech-Priest?"
"Yes, I am your Tech-Priest," answered the Tech-Priest.
"Come with me, my Servitor. Let's go serve the Machine God today."
"Okay," answered the Servitor. He was happy to be back with his Tech-Priest!
And they served the Machine God for ever and ever.

Well there is the question of whether or not a painted model is worth more than unpainted (same with assembly) since for the sake of customization and shit you gave the people a bunch more work to make it look like how they want it to look.
Personally I'd sell it at the same price you bought it at unless (when compared to other work) your paint work is as badass as those super professionals paid to paint these things then yeah mark it up.

I think I have become kind of obsessed with one of my /tg/ group buddies. I play it cool and pretend that he's just another one in the group when we are together. But in reality I am constanly thinking of him, I dream about him, I was able to get a copy of the keys to his house, and when he goes to work sometimes I sneak in and smell his clothes, touch his bed and food, look at his things, etc. Though I am very careful about the last one, I don't do it that often because he will probably be shocked if he came home one day and found me there. One day I knew he was going away for the weekend and I slept in his bed that night. I am not even gay, it is not like that. I guess I just really like him. Do you guys think I am taking it too far? Or it is understandable and a phase that will pass one of these days?
Oh, I also like to collect things from him, I mean from his body. I have hairs from his head, pubic hairs, a boogar I took from a tissue in the bin, little pieces of cut nails, and so on.

long story short my character died and i need help making a new one since im very new to the game
now heres the thing, i wanna min/max him
not because im a munchkin but because everyone else in the party is very good at what they do and im tired of feeling useless in every situation
the dm helped me make a shaman but i was stretched too thin and had nothing to contribute 99% of the time
first things first i dont want to try to compete with the rest of the party for a niche so heres the crew:

>mage/support
>tank/samurai
>bounty hunter/adept
>demolition/rigger
this being said how could i build a character that can fit into this group and how would i most efficiently build it?
also no technomancers allowed
