I'd say it's worth it, my group has played it a lot and had some serious fun with it.

It's better than base Legendary IMO, and this may sound odd, because characters can die. In regular Legendary wounds are just dead cards that shit up your deck, in Encounters you have a set limit of wounds you can take before you die and your out of the game.

Makes the whole thing a lot more tense and of course for Aliens it's pretty thematic.

Not played the predator version but I do intend to pick it up at some point.

You seem to be on the right path, being the last link in the chain of command and knowing to step away from the action are kays to a good DMPC, at least your character concept fits the bill
The biggest issue is when yu're in combat trying to be impartial to who do the enemies attack maybe difficult.

Which system? 40k? Best bet is to find someone on here who owns Tabletop Simulator, and use that. It has plenty of models from Sigmar and 40k available in the steam workshop.

After that, report to your FLGS and find people there.

Game Finder threads are probably where you'll want to post game requests from now on.

Mostly I'm looking to play rpgs. Any rules; player or DM. I don't have any local stores to go to, minus the one that the hipsters use.

This is the perfect greentext story. Just a weird little blog-poem, articulating a very 21st-century pain with a couple sentence fragments. Hats off to you, Anon.

An overwhelming majority of greentext stories are Internet youths doing their best to make each other laugh with silly, clearly fabricated yarns, but a few of them are actually kind of sweet. It’s 4chan, so you need to take everything with a grain of salt, but this one is melancholy and grounded in a way that seems real.
