Hey /biz/. I know this has probably been an overflown topic for yall, but please bear with me.

I am considering growing Mushrooms (The legal kind) in my house.. I am stuck on what kind to grow. I wanted to learn towards Oysters, and Shiitake seem to be overflown atm. Any other suggections on what to grow for profit?

- Also, im guessing the farmer market would be the place to sell. And if y'all trust me, ill send the first three out a batch of the mushrooms for review. Thanks very much

Bro you should grow field (horse) mushrooms. People are absolutely enchanted by them. It's like a normal white button mushroom but gigantic. They grill perfectly, taste amazing, and even veggos use them as substitute burgers.
>>
>>1060512
Im interested in this. Let me take a look into it.

I may be reiterating myself but i am looking for :

A mushroom who isnt oversatured (Dont want to be stuck with mushrooms)

Isn't TOO terrible expensive to set up

One i could grow indoors, and in bulk.

Im guessing to the farmers market it is then

Do you have any experience growing mushrooms?

REI is overpriced as fuck
Everything they have is at LEAST 5%-10% over MSRP
Even for a sale you are better off just using ebay to find slightly used gear

Not over msrp, just way over the price you can find shit elsewhere.

Howdy, honkies.

Gonna be innadesert in a couple of weeks for camping. I severely dislike being hot when I sleep. Been looking for a portable, chargeable air conditioner or swamp cooler. All the stuff on Amazon seems overpriced or worthless.

Any suggestions, me fellow anons?

Thank y'all.

If you knew anything about deserts you'd know many deserts experience temperature drops at night because of the lack of cloud and tree coverage. Also, don't be a pussy. If you want to be in the desert put up with what the desert has to offer. Anything you try for ac, short of having a car, is going to shit out on you
>>
>>1060375
I've lived in the desert my whole life. I've had hat stroke before. I fucking hate the heat at night, doesn't matter the temp drop.

I'm seriously asking because I'm seriously wanting this. You're correct, it's not a need... but it's a want.

Hello, /out/. I'm considering taking up a new hobby and buying a fishing license, and maybe some camping shit too. It's just affordable enough for me as a poor fag now, but the jew in me really doubts that I need to spend that money (oy vey just the resident fishing license is $36). I really would like to if I just didn't stress so much about money, but at the same time I want to go /out/ because I stress over bs. That money will get spent on marijuana if I don't spend it on something else, but will going /out/ solve my existential crisis?
18 posts and 4 images submitted.
>>
If you're asking if a hobby that you're clearly interested in is more important than a drug than you have a problem.

Besides that, fishing is expensive if you make it to be.
Of course you'll have to buy the essentials.

If the fish are good in your area you'll be fishing your own food too.
>>
Tom Sawyer it up. Just get some good line and hooks, grab a stick and a few worms and go to town
Helps if you have a buddy and a case of beer
>>
the license should be the most expensive thing. besides that it's just 5 dollar day pass maybe. whatever chips our drink you need. it beats wasting it on marijuana.

/out/,

going to japan in a few weeks -- it's hot and humid as fuck (~70-80%); will be hiking and walking a lot

what do suggest in terms of best kinds of clothing? better to cover up or wear shorter clothing? not really looking to get all burned and shit but i thought i'd ask anyway

also, is it better to shave leg hair for better ventilation, or to keep it as protection from the sun? thoughts please
9 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
Just wear something with ventilation and you'll be fine. If you go short sleeves just use sun screen.

>tfw it is 90%-100% humidity and 80F-105F here (night to day).

There's condensation on the outside of all my windows. Walking outside feels like walking face first into a warm wet towel.

>hair

Hair wicks moisture off your body where it can evaporate faster in order to cool you faster. It also acts as a dry lubricant to prevent chaffing. In the sun, it actually gives you a small amount of shade.

>Clothing

Very thin light weight clothing is best, regardless of the material type. A very wide brimmed hat with lots of vent holes in the top helps greatly in the sun when the sun is more overhead (nearly worthless in morning and evening when the sun is low.) Don't cover up. Less is best, just keep out of the sun. If you can find it, thin, white, 100% linen clothing will be the best thing ever for you. It is difficult to find because most are linen-cotton blends. It is also very expensive. Make sure everything you wear is a light colored as possible; white being best; black being worst. Your feet should be as free as possible. Extra blood gets pumped into them as you get hotter, specifically to cool you off. Wearing open sandals is ideal, even if you must wear socks (thinner socks is better). Since you are in Japan, get some geta and learn to use them well. You can go sockless with them fairly easily since the thong material is normally softer than the materials for sandals. All clothing you wear should have ventilation. Some have built in things like vents for your underarms. A button up shirt is great for adjusting air flow.

>sunlotion

Sun blocking lotions may be needed, but remember that anything you put on your skin (especially oils!) will retard your body's ability to evaporate moisture as well as it should. This is why something like baby oil feels "warm" when it actually isn't warm at all. That is why it is better to wear a big hat or even carry an umbrella/parasol to keep the sun off you.

What are /out/ approved books? Both field guides to bring with and ones to prepare for going.

I've only been /out/ a few times, a few times with experienced hikers but mostly just car camping that hardly felt like wilderness. What are some /out/ approved books for learning to innawoods? I've got a basic kit and am going to do short ventures. I'd like some books to bring with me so I can reference things in-field. Pic related looks like a good read. Probably going to get a regional foraging guide as well.

How many people here live in a large city?

After close to four years in one I feel so suicidal that I'm just counting down the days until I resign from my job and go live with my mother again.

Every day I return to this naive, childish fantasy of living in an isolated rural environment yet I lack the money to do so, and even if I did I'd have to leave my country (UK) because it's so expensive and over-crowded.

Any tips or advice /out/?

Anybody here feel like detaching yourself from society as much as you are able?

The contrast between the stick's straightness and you will be too big, OP. You need a bent stick so if you meet people they will not immediately notice you're a bender.
