Why doesn't the army use these? Wouldn't it make soldiers better at fighting?

I just moved to PA. It turns out I have to be a resident to buy a gun here, and becoming a resident is a royal pain in the ass that involves gathering documents that I don't have. Thing is I really want to jump on these Beretta 92S pistols before the supply runs out and they go up in price.
Can I get it shipped to an FFL and have them store it for me until I have my paperwork in order or is there some dumb law against that too.
bump
Put one on layaway while you gather docs.

How do Israeli troops stack up against western counterparts?
They don't. Israel looks competent because everyone around them is even shittier.
Okay at best
They play the home-field advantage pretty well, well funded, and fight against comically inept enemies.
>>31589370
now i have to know where this is from?
Which is generally the best? Nova has an inovative 1 pc polymer design, mossberg 500 has 100% parts exchangability with other 500s(including 590a1), and idk what to say about the 870 its just super popular.
Also, funny how you normally see only the 870 instead of the 500/590 in video games.
Pic related.
>>31589270
Functionality, there's few differences between a 500/590 and an 870. Aside from a few control locations (safety etc) and the material used to make a few parts you're not going to find very many differences. New production 870's have feeding problems. Has a police cruiser 870 that was New that I shipped back to remington to get fixed. It only stayed fixed for a few range trips before it had a hard time ejecting shells and feeding them. Bought a 500 persuader off of classicfirearms for 250 and a stock for another 50 and its worked infinitely better than the 870. Never fucked with a Nova but from the price tag you can just as easily buy a Mossberg 590 for a few more bucks.
>>31589270
I did forget to mention a strength of the 870; it has smooth and tight action.
It's largely preference. I loved the Remington for how smooth and easy the action was but aside from QC problems the load gate was always annoying. At some point the grip angle stopped being comfortable for me. Just in terms of current production quality Benelli is leading those three.

Would mars have better or worse ballistics than earth?
The gravity is lower, so things do not fall as fast. But the terminal velocity is also much higher due to the thin atmosphere.
>>31589080
Interesting question. Shouldn't be too hard to graph the parabola with a graphing calculator
Just find the gravitational acceleration of Mars and graph it for X=hang time.
Of course, this wouldn't really account for rocket propelled items such as missiles and the like
As for bullets, I assume they would go further, however I'm not sure how that effect that makes bullets go up and down would be effected by the lower atmosphere
>>31589119
>affected
Mas (3.8 m/s2)
Earth (9.8 m/s2)
Assuming you are only shooting 2 meters off the ground. I would think, regardless of the thickness of the atmosphere, it's going to take a lot longer for a bullet to fall to the ground on Mars than on earth. Maybe 60% more air time, which gets the projectile 60% further.
Good morning gentlemen and welcome to another addition of; "Honey I shrunk the /k/ommandos"
>Whats this about?
Basic fun thread really, you're shrunk down in the small animal and insect/bug world. You're going up against, depending on your geography and location.
Roaches
Rats
Frogs
Wasps
Rhino beetles
Spiders
Squirrels
ETC everything small.
Whats your location and what are you going up against? What are you packing on this new frontier. Whatever you hunt will re-size with you full elephant and giraffe size. Is there profit in it? Is there some new frontier in technology in it? Is there a new brand of food in it? The possibilities are endless. Can you tame one? Maybe you got a goddamn wasp mount to ride into battle against beetle.
Let the thread begin

Hello, /k/.
I'm in the process of building myself a cabin innawoods, and setting up a reasonably sustainable living space for myself. Right now, I still have a regular apartment and job, but I intend to eventually go full hermit in my cabin and avoid heading into town if at all possible.
What I need are incredibly durable and easy to strip/troubleshoot firearms. I don't care how pretty they are, and I'm willing to trade 'comfort' for 'indestructible'.
Effectively, I want some guns that I can bring with me in the woods and that will easily last 10-15 years if need be without me heading into town (obviously with proper maintenance).
I'm not really interested in bringing more than 3 or 4 guns with me either, ideally
- a pistol/revolver
- a shotgun
- a hunting rifle
- a semi-auto rifle
Bonus points for cheap/plentiful ammo. I intend to get a handpress for reloads but I'm not looking to set up a bench and station or anything.

i know im not dressing your question, but mustard gas is skin contact, so good luck with only a gas mask

But whatever makes you feel safe.
>>31588660
Except you only partially responded to my question. Let me ask it again to you. Tear gas is very commonly used in riot control situations, is this mask fully covered for those chemicals?
alright guys, so i've run into a slight problem. I want to build a vietnam era/style m16a1. Im not really picky about historical accuarcy or anything, I just want to overall look (triangle handguns, stock, etc.) Now, I was originally planning on picking up a cheap Anderson lower and one of those a1 uppers from brownells. However, it seems that Brownells is claiming that their upper receive doesn't fit anderson lowers due to the depth of the rear lug or something. So, anybody know where else I can get a A1 upper?
http://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/receiver-parts/receivers/upper-receivers/ar-15-m16-a1-upper-receiver-prod83620.aspx
>>31588537
I'm sketching out the same sort of build (although I am actually aiming for 100% historical accuracy barring the trigger group). Why not just use a NoDak Spud or Brownells A1 lower?
Personally, my plan for the lower is actually to use a NoDak 80%, so that I can match the finish on my parts kit and get it engraved with correct rollmarks.

>A1 build

First off, who the fuck even cares about Fallout 4 factions.
Secondly, it's very obviously the Boomers.
Thirdly, this isn't weapons. Go to /v/.
it's the boomers
hands down
none of the other dumb faggy post-3 factions could come close to fucking with the boomers
Boomers or NCR, really. NCR if major faction.
With drones (and eventually AI) gradually replacing all planes, and with this technology eventually making it's way to ground troops eventually, will it be completely impossible for a revolution to succeed against a tyrannical government? After all, these AI controlled robots would be completely loyal, have perfect aim and composure in combat, and have no problem with dying in combat. How could any guerilla fighter (or even human soldier) ever hope to survive on the battlefield in the future?
>>31588191
Modern armies have time and time again been unable to effectively fight guerilla warfare. You do it as you do now, hit and run and build up public support until the government has to nuke over half the population or give in to its demands. Also, it's not as if most soldiers would be willing to kill their own people, and occupation would still be required to maintain order.
>>31588191
The success of a revolution is not a technological struggle, but rather an ideological one.
If people sympathize with the rebels, they win.
If they don't, they lose.
It's a publicity thing more than a military one.
"Rebel terrorists managed to exploit a design weakness and destroy the Death Star, killing hundreds of thousands of galactic citizens. Lord Vader's whereabouts remain unknown, but it is hoped that he has escaped unharmed."
>implying technology will stop anything.
Unless they start giving out drugs ala equilibrium, a population with the motivation will rebel. whether it succeeds or not depends on the people, but whether it happens is another thing entirely
what's your go to edc knife? looking to get one since i don't have one.
