You know what I mean.
You could lay the rifle across your lap to block the view of your penor
Mem3
Getting my first, and probably last for a while, AR. I can spend up to $2,000 for rifle and accoutrements, but would like to keep it around $1500.
My general ethos in life is that I don't buy cheap shit. I like quality and dependability and will pay more for it or won't buy anything at all.
That being said, is it possible to build decent quality for far cheaper than a full rifle or do you reach a certain price point for good parts that it makes sense to buy a full system.
Basically, why shouldn't I buy a DDM4V5 which I understand to be a high-quality rifle? Are there build lists for a quality gun so I don't have to spend a year researching shit online? Thanks!
building is better than buying a prebuilt, like computers, sure you can be paying for the convenience of prebuilt ready to use, but you'd get more bang for the buck out of building it yourself, plus, you'd have more of a connection with it if its your first ar that you've got and built
Build; better quality for less money
And don't buy Stag.

I have paternity leave coming up so will have time to sit at the computer and order shit, but it's hard to figure out where to begin. I've started the research a dozen times spending hours and I'm still unsure. Ready to give up and buy. You ask for advice on the best lower or BCG and you get a million answers.

Is it just me or is the gun community extremely flakey when it comes to buying firearms?
>post moist nugget on armslist last week to make room for a more modern bolt action in my safe
>$150 OBO
>get about 40 e-mails in the span of 7 days days
>they all say shit like, "eyy bro u still sellin? im interested."
>Yes, its still for sale. When would you like to take a look at it?
>silence
>next e-mail, "Are you able to meet me at this FFL at this specific time tomorrow? Here's my phone number etc. etc. etc."
>"yeah sure thing, I'll call you up before I leave with the nugget"
>next day, call number
>silence
>"hey bro can u sell me the gun privately without going to an FFL"
>"do you have a CPL/CCW/CC-anything?"
>silence
I feel like I'd have an easier time selling human organs at the local 7/11 than selling a gun to anyone, anywhere. I've had about the same amount of trouble selling my 92FS last year and some shitty WASR-10 the year before.
Please tell me this is a general thing or that I'm trying to sell firearms on the wrong website.
I had a similar experience on armslist. In the "no ffl" case, I assume the buyer was not legit. In all other flaky ass instances, I just said FIDO and waited for a committed buyer.
>>31578973
fug man, worst part is I'm not even trying to gouge prices or some shit. I'm just trying to get rid of this gun and make a mediocre sum back. I thought there would be at least one rabbid nugget fan who would jump at the opportunity to haggle for muh soviet arms.
>>31578973
Just an FYI, most FFL's close near me at about 5 or 6. Meaning if I get off work at 5 and wanted to meet you for the gun it kinda hard to go to an FLL

Baby's first chest rig/plate carrier
So gearfags, what would you recommend for a vz58 operator? I've looked at vz95 gear but it seems really expensive, about $200 for the vest alone. I'd also like to incorporate my tokarev with 4 mags into this kit.
How do you wear a chest rig and plate carrier at the same time?
Can you help me design a proper loadout?
Thanks from a gear noob
Bumping with the rifle in question
>>31578845
The chink AK rigs work pretty well. SADF p83 ones do too. Pretty much any AK rig will work, 762tactical has a bunch of slightly more budget friendly rigs than a lot of other companies.
As for the carrier+rig, just put the rig on over the PC. How is that hard to figure out? Your load out depends completely on what you want to do tho.
>>31578845
SADF rig all the way. It's sturdy, fits well, is decently adjustable, and can fit AR, AK47, AK74, VZ, and Battle Rifle magazines.
That said, ChiCom rigs can do the same and are still relatively easy to find and cheap compared to SADF shit.
Well I've got too much deer meat (and still have an Elk and moose hunt this year)
I know, it's a first world problem.
I want to experiment with a few diffrent sausage recipes.
Does anyone have one that is tried and tested? I've made batches that were disappointing in the past and hope to avoid that if possible
>>31578808
talk to some mexicans, they usually have some pretty good deer recipes.

what >>31578839 likely means is that /CK/ is likely to have a few recipes.
They would probably also be more interested in the topic as well.

I'm 24 now. I go to college and I look exactly like all the other kids straight out of highschool. I can't grow any facial hair other than some Shaggy from scooby-doo chin scruff. How do I cope with being so pathetic?

no, like what you want out of life.
Why is it that we don't use halftracks anymore? I get not using gliders and battleships; I am not one of those retards. It seems to me that pic related would be super useful in Afghanistan.
>>31578299
APCs
>>31578299
Here's a JERRV, the same kind of vehicle I have experience with and which may be thought of as somewhat similar to a halftrack.
It has similar surface area on the ground thanks to the tires in the rear, but since they are tires, logistics is more simplified. Don't have to worry about throwing a track, and the maintenance area just needs to carry tires, not tires and tracks.
Being that increased surface area is about the only advantage you get with a halftrack, and something like a JERRV can do the same thing but simpler and without the inherent disadvantages of a halftrack, there's really no reason to use one.
Not a historian but I think half tracks where invented so militaries could say they had scary treaded vehicles for cheap. Them everyone was like this is stupid, do one or the other.
Let's say I did something incredibly stupid, such as bought a PTR 91 PDWR pistol... What would one suggest for sights? Also what kind of grips could I have without compromising it's pistol status.
Which grips? Front Grips? IIRC that would turn it into an AOW.
>>31578284
I thought the wording was 'vertical' handgrip?

i guess it was kinda his fault for 1 leaving it outside a safe and 2 leaving it loaded but jesus fucking christ i was a retard. to this day i compulsively check if a gun is loaded even if i it was just unloaded in front of me
>>31578169
You did go full retard and your grandaddy probably found it and assumed the same. At least it got you to pick up a good habit. He probably didnt say anything cause he knew you'd never do something that retarded again after how you felt.
>>31578169
It's both your fault and grandpappy's fault.
Things you did wrong:
>Didn't clear gun
>Pointed gun in unsafe direction
Things grandpappy did wrong:
>Left gun unattended in reach of a child
I'm sure there's more, but that's at least the gyst of it. The real important thing is that no one got hurt and you learned a very valuable lesson.
>it was his fault for leaving it out and loaded
No, you fucking retard.

What
1x Bradley M3 IFV
Vs.
4x M4 Sherman medium tanks
Open field, no support, full armament, earliest Bradley, most up-to-date Shermans. Bradley does not have mechanized infantry, this is about the vehicle's combat capabilities only. Engagement distance is 5km, vehicles can move.
The hidden hunter-killer RPG teams that wandered into the simulation
Does the big b have its tow compliment? or just the bushmaster?
either way im still gona say the bradley. modern optics and engagement speeds. being able to shoot while moving.
>>31577679
Bradley would run circles around it while hammering down that 35. The Bradley would win by speed alone, it would be too fast for any good shot to be made by the Sherman. And rate of fire would just be devastating compared to the Sherman's load time
