Once I get a house I'll probably be more comfortable with hiding my guns than locking them in a safe. Anybody with 20 minutes and an angle grinder or an oxyacetylene torch can bust open most modern safes.

Modern safes scream "ALL MY VALUABLES ARE IN HERE".

There are some pretty cool secure and discreet products built for hiding guns.

This guy experiments with black powder in smokeless cartidges, among other things. So far there's .308 cetme, 9mm largo and 9km luger.

Combine that with homemade black powder and cast bullets and you're getting somewhere.

Primers would be difficult though, as would cases from scratch.

Is that a PKM bipod on that AK? What is that band behind it that you have keeping it there? or is it just part of the barrel? I have a 23" vepr im am slowly turning into a RPK clone. And instead of getting the barrel reprofiled for a normal RPK bipod I picked up a PKM one and just need to find a way to keep it there so it doesnt slide up and down the barrel.

I think the KAC rail + foregrip looks a lot better on an M4 clone. If I'm going 20 inch M16 style, I want standard oval handguards.

Yes and no. I depends on the weight and length. Less than 16" and you don't have the reach or swinging force you really need. More than 21" and it starts to get really long when collapsed and is not good in close.

In general they are great. If you shoot someone they are going to the hospital and the cops are going to be looking for you. Crack someone in the upper leg with an ASP and they're hitting the ground and will be limping around for a few weeks. Chances are the cops will spend little time looking for you if looking at all. An ASP and OC spray are formidable tools in trained hands.
