what's your go to edc knife? looking to get one since i don't have one.
Depends on what you want
Short blade or long blade
Automatic, spring assist, manual, otf
Drop point, dagger point, bowie
Under 100, under 200 ect
I reccomend going to blade hq and using their filter to find exactly what u want

One with a blade
I used CRKT
Utility is a Swiss Army Rambler on my keys. Non-threatening, works for most chores, and it even has a screwdriver.
For defense I like a Clinch Pick or a P'Kal if I'm in a state that doesn't allow for concealed fixed blades, with a waved Endura as another option.
Depending on how utilitarian I'm feeling:
HK Axis
Leatherman Charge Ti
random swiss army knife
SOG lockback
cheap and tough
Kershaw Chill
because I can't find anything lighter that's the same length and affordable

How's the charge ti treating you? Is it worth it over the normal charge?
Gerber Paraframe Mini
Kershaw Leek with that sexy bi-metal blade. It gets the job done and for the price is breddy gud

that pepe is amazing!!!!!!
Don't buy anything that costs more than $100 because you'll be afraid to actually use it.
Chipping the blade on a $300 benchmade over something stupid is a bad time. I know this from experience.

thanks fampais
If you're fine with linerlocks (which are perfectly fine, you aren't balancing 50kg weights on your knife to test the lock strength), the Spyderco Tenacious is pretty much the defacto EDC for newbies knife.
There will be arguments, but, if you want something that's all-around easy to own, it's the Tenacious. The Resilience is okay too. The longer blade on it makes it less attractive for EDC, though.

cold steel
xl voyager clip point
bk14 kabar. many times i found myself happy that i had a fixed blade to beat the fuck out of

I like it. The S30V blade is nice. The thing is still quite heavy despite the titanium. Seemed expensive at the time ($112 in '07) but new stuff is quite a bit pricier. I guess that specific model got retired though.

had one before it got stolen:(
I was a big fan.
SOG Fielder looks pretty nice and is cheap
Buck 110 is a classic, and my EDC (along with a victorinox)
I also have a Buck 119 that's very cheap for a well made fixed blade.
I also have a British Army knife that's pretty cool and I carry it sometimes
